That's what I was thinking. I couldn't find one earlier today to make a deal of the ci $20 gift card promotion

Pals help. My pal and I, if we can't find a free ship code, are going to make one big order, so the flat-rate $8 shipping becomes $4 for each of us, which isn't that bad if you're making a large order (and we will be).

You can also snag a Cornelius and Anthony box for $70-90 or whatever and it makes your order free shipping. But I'm not spending $80 on a box of cigars I've never had.

Try sunny. It's an old code that worked for me, but I did not complete the order. YMMV

Summer did not work for me. I saw that one this morning. I found sunny over at Slickdeals in a thread about the current gift card deal at CI

"It's an older code, sir, but it checks out!"

Yup, it works, lads. Of course I had a very large order, so there may be an order value threshold, but I can tell you it works for a large order! Experiment, there may be no threshold at all!

Thanks Mcdanielsamuel, that was great!

The Jacob's Ladder lanceros for cheap were on "the sister site" not the mothership, and it wasn't the twice-yearly "10-pack plus $20 Bucks card" deals, it was just a random sale they were having, that was stackable with a few other codes, yielding a final price of $60 per bundle of 20 with free shipping!

I'd LOVE to see them do that again, but I doubt they will anytime soon...

This time around on the 10-pack/$20 Bucks deals, I can recommend the Henry Clay Stalk Cut Habano and the Espinosa Comfortably Numb #2 Toro. I got a bunch of 'em last time around, and after about 3-4 months of sitting around, they get quite good indeed.

Honorable mention: Nica Libre Silver 25th Anniversary, an AJ cigar that's a solid, well-made Nicaraguan that ages well (like most AJ stuff).

And of course the Serie V Melanios if you want to spend $60 per 10-pack, which I don't, especailly since I like the regular non-Melanio Serie V much better.

No threshold on "sunny" for me. I have placed a couple orders now on the deal including one where all I ordered was one bundle of the cheap La Aurora Embassador Habana Corojo -- which is a really nice spicy golfing/poolside smoke -- for $24.99 and sunny worked fine!

Hmmmm, the La Aurora's are not currently available on the deal anymore. But, if you were wanting try them, keep checking. The Camacho Powerband were unavailable for a while, then came back.

Thanks for the intel! Good to know.

Yesterday, I ordered pretty good quantities of the Henry Clay Stalk Cut, the Espinoza Comfortably Numb Vol. 2 Toro and the Punch Diablo by AJ.

Just now I ordered yet another bunch of the Espinoza Comfortably Numb Vol. 2 Toro. For a net price of $2 each ($40 - $20 Bucks value = $20 net price / 10 cigars = $2/cigar net price), you can't beat that deal with a stick. After maybe 4 months of resting, wow do they get good. I got a boatload of them in December on the same deal, waited till April or so to smoke 'em, and every time I'm in the middle of one I think to myself, "Damn, I am REALLY enjoying this". After 4 months, they're just a great all-around experience (burn, construction, flavor, draw, etc. considered together).

Also, how many of you noticed I made a geeky Star Wars reference in one of my posts above?

Are you able use the ci bucks right away on another order? Essentially, rolling the last order's ci bucks and into the next order? Or do the ci bucks come with the cigars?

The Bucks are physical cards with alphanumeric code strings on them, that come in the box with your cigars. You don't get the codes in advance at order time or ship time. You only get them physically with the cigars.

If you're lucky like me and live close enough to CI to get your cigars the next day if you place an order by the cutoff time, and the sale's still on the next day, you can roll those Bucks cards into another order immediately upon receiving them.

However with COVID-19 and "civil unrest" lately, and if CI has internal issues, CI shipping the package and your receipt of the package may be delayed, so be aware of that.

If you get the package after the sale is over, usually you can just hang onto the cards until the next time the deal is on (usually it's June and December every year) and use them then.

The Bucks cards have expire dates, so check them. With luck they'll be past December so you can use them on the next deal.

That's standard operating procedure for those of us who love this twice-yearly deal. Herfing

That's what I figured, but wanted to be sure. I still haven't ordered anything as of late. Still 'developing' the palate on some overbids. Thanks

You're welcome.

Developing the palate is a great journey that lasts years, enjoy it! Don't buy in bulk till the palate settles down and slows its development.

Oh, and these two are back in stock now, at least as I write this:

Camacho Powerband Robusto
Alec Bradley Tempus Terra Novo

Have at it!

And suddenly it was over! Sale went bye-bye. It's hibernating again, until December.

The Bucks cards I got have 12/31/2020 expiry, so they should be usable next time around.

Hope you guys got some good stuff!

Good call on the "Comfortably Numb." Did not last as long as one might expect but really good taste throughout with only a couple of days in the humi.

They usually have pretty good deals around Labor Day weekend.
And IIRC, Halloween is 31% off your order.

Both great times to use your bucks.

Or you could just shove those bucks up your ass and see what happens...

Nice. Wait 4 months, and they'll be quite a bit better still. They have great construction and draw, too. Glad you liked 'em!
