It’s just not holding well in the headlines or here. Seems that the interest is already lost. Reminds me of murder hornets.

I think people are just inured to the fact that twitler don't care.... apparently the GOP don't care... it's less amusing than COVID is.

It appears to be a fact. It happened, and the intelligence community says Twitler knew.

But honestly, no one here expected any of the trump fans to care. They'll justify why it's ok twitler buddies up with a government that's putting hits out on our troops. Whatever makes them feel better about themselves.

Huh. Was just rowing with TVs going and there were extended stories on it on both channels. I was listening to music so I don’t know what they said. I think there may have been some coverage of it in a news conference earlier too.

Just taking a second to look it looks like the Washington Post is giving a pretty good coverage as well as the New York Times and it looks like members of both parties of Congress are wanting some answers.

It's on CNN. Was also on msnbc and fox.
Big story is covid spred and Fauchi's testimony and statements.

I am watching fox and the topic right now is de-funding law enforcement.

Nothing on Washington Post. Way down the list on CNN. Looks like NYT is still running it. We’ve kinda been down this road before.

Report: Iran pays $1,000 for each U.S. soldier killed by the Taliban
msnbc.com staff and news service reports
Iran is paying Taliban fighters $1,000 for each U.S. soldier they kill in Afghanistan, according to a report in a British newspaper.

The Sunday Times described how a man it said was a "Taliban treasurer" had gone to collect $18,000 from an Iranian firm in Kabul, a reward it said was for an attack in July which killed several Afghan government troops and destroyed an American armored vehicle.

The treasurer left with the cash hidden in a sack of flour, the newspaper said, and then gave it to Taliban fighters in the province of Wardak. In the past six months, the treasurer claimed to have collected more than $77,000 from the company.

The Sunday Times said its investigation had found that at least five Kabul-based Iranian companies were secretly passing funds to the Taliban.

The newspaper's correspondent, Miles Amoore, said he met and interviewed the treasurer, who he said had been an illiterate farmer who was taught to read and write, plus basic accountancy, by the Taliban last winter.

"We don’t care who we get money from," the treasurer was quoted as saying. He described the relationship with Iran as a "marriage of convenience." Iran is a predominantly Shiite country, while the Taliban is dominated by Sunni Muslims.

Oh... I misread HD's post. Thought he said it wasn't holding well in the headlines ON here.... (ie cbid).

Didn't realize he was claiming it wasn't in the news headlines. Nah man... it's been all over the news. Lots of different information has come out... tracking $$ from russia to the taliban.... people claiming he was informed in 2019... the press secretary claiming he's both "the most informed man in the world" and also "had not been told"....

Dude... if you're trying to say it hasn't been in the headlines in the past 24 hours you're intentionally oblivious.

Well it’s definitely not holding well here but it has also fallen off as the big story and we’re back on Covid.

Lots of information has come out from two unnamed sources. It’s pretty clear they are warhawks like a number of the other ex-administration officials. It’s just not the kind of issue that has any staying power with the Democrats. This isn’t swinging any voters.

What I think is interesting is we’re seeing a bit of a rat hung up of the revolt or coup within the Republican ranks. They’ve hated Trump since before the convention in 2016 and I’m curious how far they’ll go to get rid off him.

The dems may not care... but each of the "revelations" has gotten another news spin up.

but it is hard to sustain anything when we keep getting COVID news too.

Hell, NYC has had 30 days of BLM protests and we haven't really heard much about it since the initial week.

Nothing has staying power of more than a few hours in the news when there's a pandemic.

Intel leak + New York Times = Adam Sh*t

Just maybe the leaker can become a whistle-blower.

Interesting that you blame Schif with zero evidence. IIRC, he hasn't even been briefed on the matter- but will be as part of the gang of eight some time later today.

It wouldn’t surprise me if Shif leaks but I don’t think he prepared or knows what was in the daily briefings.

Exactly what, per se, are the facts leading to the conclusion "he has his smell all over it"?

Robert, I must confess. The assertion is really a leak therefore it must be credible.

Wait, I'm wrong again. That only applies if it hurts Trump.

What does that even have anything to do with your allegation against Schif?
How can it be a leak if it is a hoax?

any word of what the US response will be?

to both Russia and Iran?

Russia denies it, but said the US has been doing similar stuff for decades, providing weapons and aid to Ukraine and to Afghanistan before that, in their fight against Russia
