Congrats macs.

And yes, I do. But its gonna be a while.

Last night while chitfaced drunk I decided to sell an old bike on Facebook marketplace. 1972 Schwinn Stingray with a Schwinn Krate front end. Single speed, not the nutbuster.

I dug it out of my grandparents shed in 96. It was painted black, no seat, no pedals, no fenders. I cleaned the paint off with gasoline soaked rags. It was yellow. Couple years later Schwinn made a reproduction bike like this. I bought a new seat, sissy bar, pedals, fenders, and tires with my paper route money. Rode it a little bit but it was my kiddy hot rod, only dry sunny days and rode gently.

Through several moves and even 3 months of living in my car, I still kept it. It was my most prized possession for a long time. I kept it clean, regularly waxed it. When I bought my house and was moving storage unit to here, wife suggested throwing away that old bike. I remember being quite angry about that. I told her it had huge sentimental value.

But then I put it in the shed and forgot about it for a decade. Only reason I pulled it out was to try to salvage the crank bearings for the boy's bike. They didn't fit, and the bike sat in the garage. It had rusted and the tires rotted. I thought about cleaning it up and hanging it on the basement wall but its a memento of my past, it meant a lot to me during those times but I'm living an entirely different life and the sentimental value had waned.

Last night I took one crappy picture and listed it for sale around midnight for $150 hoping to get $100. I know there's a market for them, but didn't realize how active that market is. One guy messaged me immediately, said he'd pickup around 9am. I sent him my number and said text or call in the morning when you're close.

Woke up to over 30 messages, two people sent money, several people offered $3-500 to ship the front wheel. But id already agreed to a sale.

Guy came, looked at the serial number and basically told me "you don't know what you got" and gave me $200 for the bike we agreed to sell for $150. I told him I'm glad you know what it is cause now I got $200 and more room in my shed. Everybody happy.

d'oh!

No chicken and dumpling making here. Not during the summer anyway.

I've won my fair share of 500's. Not right for me to win one now. I make sure to stop in every few months to check on friends. Life is busy taking care of an 8 year old MiniSledn. The Patriarch Sledn has his hands full with the teenSledn on the job sites for a bit.

"Today will be a lesson of..... SPLASHING!" per MiniSledn

The joy is oozing through my pores. Literally.

Lawn mowed. Sprinklers on in the mud.

Yard already sank a foot at the new septic lines. Gotta go back out there and level the dirt.

What's up?
I just finished a grocery run to Publix CVS and Aldi. For some odd reason, I feel like getting baked on Dutch Hawaii. Good stuff. I just don't know if I will be functional for the rest of the day.

Dutch Hawaiian is a social smoke that is best shared among friends or strangers alike. ... This Seattle native is a cross between fan favorite Dutch Treat and a landrace Hawaiian sativa, together creating a fruity and pleasantly fragranced hybrid that is uplifting and energizing.

and you chose to smoke this alone..?? Not talking

Is the the new 500 redux or the new 1000 ?

Should MACS have 500 limits ?

One of my guys just went from a Dodge Nitro to a Chevy 3500. I asked about the vast upgrade and he said he needed to haul bikes. I think a little overkill, but hey, motorcycles can be heavy. Oh no. He was talking about his family bicycle outings

Took my old rocker recliners to Goodwill... they were full and were not accepting any donations. (yeah, really?) Went to Salvation Army and they were happy to take them.

Got 2 new theater style recliners for the man cave. Power recline and headrest, but they don't rock. Storage in each armrest plus 3 USB ports and a plug... aaaaaand... each armrest has a cupholder.

coincidence?

I also got two new recliners, delivered yesterday, for the man-cave: rockers and swivel; power, but no power headrest; one USB port, no cup holders; wallhugger so it fully reclines while only 6 inches from the wall behind it, leaving more space in the middle of the room ...so comfy, I almost dozed off last night watching TV...

gave the wicker chairs to Lauren and Ant, kept the two papasan rockers...

I really liked the old ones and didn't need power... but Sam's club had them for $399 each, so I did it. Old one had my butt groove worn in it and was starting to hurt my back.

the manual pull types use a few inches more in width, so you can get your arm over the side to pull the lever... the extra few inches makes a difference in the man cave/converted single car garage...

plus I like the infinite foot rest heights and reclining angles of the power model compared to the one or two positions of the manual ones

How f'cking old do I have to get to find recliners to be anything other than lazy?

gaddam old farts. Sit in a chair. If you're hungover, lie on a couch.

it aint age...it's retirement...

if you have time to sit back and enjoy a big cigar, a regular chair gets uncomfortable after an hour or so and a couch doesn't work in the smoking room...

I won't smoke in the house, where the couches are.

I have found recliners to be comfortable since I was a kid. I frequently nap in them, hung over or not.

The various reclining positions are a bonus, as is the ability to be close to the wall.

Just saw my nephew flying Marine One on the news, dropping the President on the Whitehouse lawn. I knew he had joined the crew a few months ago, but he can’t discuss if he is the pilot or not for flights. Kinda cool imho.
