Got the grandson for a few hours, and he's always a HOOT! Boy may only be barely 3, but he looks 4 or 5, gonna be a BIG 'UN! I'm thinking I can have him swimming by the end of the summer

It's 89, but with all the flooding and rain, the "feels like" is 99+, HOT, too HOT, so the only place to be is back in the house to get on a swimsuit and in the pool! Stay safe, folks.

OH, and Don't be BAD!

Really nice mountain t-storm hit about 2 hourā€™s ahead of predictions. Including the hail it dropped the temp from 75 to 59 in minutes. Glad we got our morning hike in early or we could be some of those stranded out on the 6 mile trail hunkered under a tree.

Spent my entire day trying to sleep. Stayed up all night last night so I could sleep today.

Fell asleep for a few hours in the morning but then tossing n turning all the rest of the day.

Back to work.

Heavy rains were predicted for today and tomorrow but after an early morning shower, there was some sunshine so put on some sunscreen and mowed the grass. Couple of light drizzles while I was cutting the grass and thought the big rains were gonna fall but nothing. Finished up and ate lunch about an hour ago. Time to either spark one up or take a nap. Decisions, decisions....

Sat my old ass in the back yard with the old ass cat... smoked an ERdM choix supreme and had some whiskey. Blasted an eclectic variety of tunes.

Rubbed some pork belly for tomorrow... and got some ribeyes, too.

I was out west 4 wheeling with some friends in the desert.
Sunny. Hot. Not a cloud in the sky.

We set off on foot exploring.
In the blink of an eye
Thunder. Lightning.
The sky let loose on us.
And hail pummeled us mercilessly.
We sought refuge under a scrawny tree.
It was useless.
We crouched and shivered like pathetic cretins.

20 minutes later
Sunny. Hot. Clear skies.
Crazy.

A fantastic memory...

Bought a handheld UV blacklight from Amazon for $10. Went scorpion hunting in the yard with it. It's amazing. They light up like glow sticks! Killed two by the back block wall before setling down in 96 degree temps at 10 pm to smoke a cigar.

Back problems again this morning - bad enough so that I had to use the walker to get around. Got a lot of yard work to get done today and I also have to start loading the car for our trip tomorrow. Time to get started.
