Wow! That's all you want to mention? I think I broke every rule of the English language in one post.

I'm in a forgiving mood

I don't challenge you on your credentials. I really don't care. You claim I don't have the credentials but you do since you posted here at some point. Guess we should all step aside and let Spey lead us to the truth. It's not a pissing match. Just because I say something that doesn't agree with you doesn't mean you have to take it as a personal insult or a blow to your ego. Jeeze, chill out.

If you really want me to make a dig at you so you have something to really go ballistic on me - I could ask how someone so knowledgeable on the subject and so cautious in his daily routine catch the virus? Yet you come her and tell us who haven't caught it what we should and shouldn't be doing. I know, It's because I didn't wear a mask that one time when I went out to get the mail and the virus that I don't have jumped off my body and hop-scotched it's way to the next living being it could find.

I don't follow this on a minute by minute update. I really don't care that much since I can't control it. I try not to worry about things that are beyond my control. I do think that all the "experts" are jerking everyone around because I don't think they know as much as they pretend they know. There are too many contradictions for me to have any high level of confidence in what they say. It's a scramble to see who can come up with the latest headline and get in the spotlight for their 5 minutes of fame in front of whatever audience will listen. The old "publish or perish" attitude and quest for the great dollar to fund their next study.

A year from now we will all still probably be here and look back and see how much BS was kicked around by he flash in the pan unconfirmed conclusions. Most of the claims will fizzle out and not be heard from again because there will be a new show in town that feeds the media masses. I'm sure there's something waiting in the wings right now poised to be public enemy #1 for 2021.

You already tried that tactic HD. The numbers aren't in the right states to be driven by that.

I'm sure they don't help. But you're being an idiot to pretend that's what's causing Florida's or Texas's spike

I just noticed you called me an idiot. That is just what I would expect from an old school racist.

“There is nothing so annoying as to be fairly rich, of a fairly good family,
pleasing presence, average education, to be "not stupid," kindhearted,
and yet to have no talent at all, no originality, not a single idea
of one's own—to be, in fact, "just like everyone else."
Of such people there are countless numbers in this world—far more
even than appear. They can be divided into two classes as all men
can—that is, those of limited intellect, and those who are much cleverer.
The former of these classes is the happier.
To a commonplace man of limited intellect, for instance, nothing is
simpler than to imagine himself an original character, and to revel in that
belief without the slightest misgiving.
Many of our young women have thought fit to cut their hair short, put
on blue spectacles, and call themselves Nihilists. By doing this they have
been able to persuade themselves, without further trouble, that they
have acquired new convictions of their own. Some men have but felt
some little qualm of kindness towards their fellow-men, and the fact has
been quite enough to persuade them that they stand alone in the van of
enlightenment and that no one has such humanitarian feelings as they.
Others have but to read an idea of somebody else's, and they can immediately
assimilate it and believe that it was a child of their own brain.
The "impudence of ignorance," if I may use the expression, is developed
to a wonderful extent in such cases;—unlikely as it appears, it is met
with at every turn.
... those belonged to the other class—to the "much cleverer"
persons, though from head to foot permeated and saturated with
the longing to be original. This class, as I have said above, is far less
happy. For the "clever commonplace" person, though he may possibly
imagine himself a man of genius and originality, none the less has within
his heart the deathless worm of suspicion and doubt; and this doubt
sometimes brings a clever man to despair. (As a rule, however, nothing
tragic happens;—his liver becomes a little damaged in the course of time,
nothing more serious. Such men do not give up their aspirations after
originality without a severe struggle,—and there have been men who,
though good fellows in themselves, and even benefactors to humanity,
have sunk to the level of base criminals for the sake of originality)”

― Fyodor Dostoyevsky, The Idiot

With all the back and forth on Covid and how politicized it's become, this pops into my head a lot lately. I may just have to take a dive back into the Russians. They tend to be extremely gloomy and can be tedious but, boy, did they nail human nature.

Some peasants think they are more than what they really are, some are too dumb to know they're dumb. I didnt need "the Russians" to tell me that.

You should visit the mountain south, we got tons of holler scholars.

We don't despair about it though, we pontificate whilst bass fishing.

Sometimes people don’t want to hear the truth because they don’t want their illusions destroyed.

Dude... that was a day ago. Did you have to sound all the syllables out twice to get it?

Kinda proves my point if it takes you that long to pick up on it! :)

Huh... that's an... interesting take... Of course the point he was making was that people who are "more" tend to make themselves "less" in order to fit in because they get tired of going against the flow of stupid they drown in and wind up selling their souls for peace.

But, like you said, you didn't need "the Russians" to tell you that. Anxious

Hmm. I really thought the guy was saying the people who are a little more, or at least think they are a little more, drink too much and end up miserable. I'll take notes next time. Lol!

Personally going against the trends or norms of the day has never bothered me, but I haven't reached FOG status yet either, so there's still time.

Also, you should stop colluding with the Russians.
