California schools will be opening with distanced learning only. The target date for in classroom learning is approximately November 4.

Within the next week or so we are going to see lots of this.

doubt Nov 4 will have a huge impact on many parents' fears about sending their kids to a public school...there will likely be a surge in cases and illnesses then, as the flu season combines with the on-going pandemic...

if Biden wins, he will not be demanding that schools re-open if the pandemic situation remains the same or worsens...

highly questionable that a vaccine will be available in three and a half months: that, or a therapeutic treatment, will be the game-changers...not the occupant of the WH

I do not understand why people have any fear of sending their kids back to school. Masks work. Wear a mask. Problem solved.

A local school district trended on twitter when they decided a couple of weeks ago to have in person learning - a decision largely tied to high school football...

Since the governor decided no in person learning, they are throwing a bit of a tantrum and are demanding three ninety minute sessions, 5 days a week... for kindergarteners...

I guess kindergarteners can play football too. As long as they wear a mask.

Study Shows School-Aged Children Are Most Likely to Spread Coronavirus

US school districts are facing tough decisions about resuming in-person classes this fall.

The nation’s daily coronavirus cases continue to climb, but the switch to remote learning has already stymied children’s progress and led to higher rates of absenteeism — particularly among low-income students, who are more likely to lack internet access.

Many questions remain about infection and transmission rates among kids, but a new study from South Korea found that school-aged children — ages 10 to 19 — are more likely to spread the coronavirus to their household contacts than any other age group.

The study was conducted from January 20 to March 27, when schools in South Korea were closed. The researchers traced the contacts of more than 5,700 coronavirus patients, including around 10,600 people who lived with an infected person and another 48,500 who did not.

Those South Koreans surely were not wearing masks.

Tough break about those low income kids who lack internet access. Well at least we laid off their parents so they all can spend more time together at home. It was for their own good.

Just another way to keep them on the plantation.
