I was recently made aware of the resignation of Bari Weiss from the NYTimes.
I'm intrigued and will read her letter sometime soon.
For those who already have, this is the place to make comments.
thanks.

Pretty moderate leftist treated very poorly by the vocal woke crowd at the NYT bird cage carpet factory.

I may be a commie, but I'm not one for this cancel thingie, and even less tolerant of workplace pressures based on unpopular political beliefs (maybe certain actions could be troubling)..
If either side runs off the other, those self righteous thugs become dictators...a bigger threat to each of us than if our current opponents are left alone to be wrong..HA!

I've said it here and there over the years, so another time wouldn't hurt, but my father taught me to NOT want all I want, cuz if I get it all I'm now on the side of the dictator and oppressing roughly 50% of my fellow Americans.

Tomorrow, or one day very soon, I will open one of my 3 cans of Goya chickpeas and make my good homemade hummus.

I'm boycotting Goya - there are less expensive brands and some of them are even better. Of course I will use what I have. I also will sell any Goya paintings that I have. McCain potatoes are still on my to buy list.

That's why I like you Frank, you are one of the most reasonable liberals I know.I wish more from both sides could be as open minded and fair as you.

Oh and I had my wife pick up about $60 worth of Goya canned veggies to stock the pantry. We'll be enjoying Goya products for as long as I can see into the future.

just cuz we may not agree does not mean I want to banish you to the forest.
I may not learn every day, but I never learn listening only to what I already think is true.
It makes me feel wicked smaht but it doesn't improve me as a person.

Stir it up and then taste the broth.

Thanks. Now I do too.

Except Bari is white while Barry White is black.

And Bari is a chick.
And Jewish.
And unlikely to have the deep, melodic voice of the angels.

Otherwise, same person.

Lifted this quote:

Goya has the right to support whoever they want. I've never had anything from Goya. But I bought some today. The over reaction is beyond my beliefs. I think Trump looked like a clown, but that is Trump, not Goya. I don't agree with them, but what did they do that was criminal?

I play the game here, but really, that's what makes America great. You can voice your opinion. A lot of us disagree here. But I doubt many here want to silence fellow Americans with different views. The extreme right is vile, so is the extreme left.

Trumps outcome will be decided in the election, as it should be. Besides, I'm to WASP to be a real Democrat in these times. I think there still is a place for moderates. The people that don't are the problem.

I don't really know her work but, I do remember she didn't do herself any favors when she appeared on Joe Rogan. Good resignation letter though. It's a shame the people it's aimed at aren't open minded enough to let it affect them.

I hope so Ron. Big money runs both parties, not the American people.
