He sure can just PM him and make sure to put your order number in the message. Tell him the problem and he can help and will probably make it right with some extra. Cigarlady had a problem and he definitely helped her out with some extras.

What would you have chosen for him?

We were sending him back to school.

I was back and forth on it for a while but in the end, he has no siblings, we live on a busy road outside of any neighborhood, so he has no socialization except for school.

He's also not interested in learning from me or his mom, and doesn't care for computers in general. E learning is very difficult for him.

Oh well.

LMAO!!!!!!!!

So the wife and I are sitting near the bluff enjoying a bottle of wine and we hear a constant banging. WTF? We walk to the edge an see two people using bricks trying to break our gate. Our property is fenced though we have not fenced the beach itself which in Illinois on Lake Michigan is our property. Multiple signs are posted on the fence, no trespassing private property. I walk down the steps and question what are they doing? Very angrily they say we are breaking the law by having a fence blocking them from the bluff and posting our signs on public property. Before I say a word they tell me they have called the cops. Sure enough my wife says she just opened the gate for the local police. I walk up the stairs. I walk to the house and put the video of these people on a flash drive. I get back to the bluff and the police are walking these two up in cuffs. They said they took damage and have the bricks but probably couldn't make anything stick for that. They then said they were charging them with criminal trespassing. I handed one of the officers the flash drive and said here is the whole incident.

I think they could be from the looney left. One of the officers handed me his card and said please call tonight and set up a zoom meeting so we could give are statements. The officers seemed very happy. After the two goofs were in their squad call one of the officers came back and said this has happened multiple times with these to goofs. Now they have video.

It's IL, probably won't get shot unless they're "minding their own business" or "visiting grandma" in Chicago.

Back when I worked ER/Trauma closer to the city those were the two most frequently stated stories for gunshot patients.

This guy I know at work is going back to school. Said he qualified for student loans but doesnโ€™t need them to cover his tuition. Iโ€™m not a financial expert but wouldnโ€™t it make financial sense to take the loans (2.75% interest and no payments until you graduate) and dump the loan money in a brokerage account?

Even middle of the road mutual funds or ETFโ€™s will get you at least double that interest back, right? If he just let the money ride, he could pay it all back in a lump sum after graduation and come out a head on the deal or pay the minimum due (low interest rate student loan) and keep the money going in the brokerage account building more money with the higher return.

Besides, if we all do Bernnie as a write in on the ballot for the next Pres, maybe the loan will be just forgiven all together - big score!

You are right. Some people simply hate debt more than they like interest appreciation.. appreciation.

morning all... fell asleep at 6 without dinner last night... haven't had a morning cigar in ages so figured today was the day... also my last cigar so I'm gonna bribe my brother to go get some for me...

talked to a doctor yesterday and she basically said I can either tough it out with my back or go to physical therapy... she also told me something I've been told before but am not sure if it's true - that at the age of 38, the only reason I would get an MRI on my back is in preparation for surgery....

Wake and bake then went back to sleep until like 10am. We live near apopka, FL, which is the indoor foliage capital of the world, bar none. Yesterday, we went to a HUGE comercial cactus/succulent grow operation with like 10 different greenhouses yesterday. Going to find a pot today at pottery barn to plant things in. After that? A nap.

I'm just an old auto accident attorney who used to read medical records concerning back pain for almost 30 years: Do the physical therapy as soon as possible. The physical therapist will know how to help you get out of your pain cycle. MRI is use to try to identify what is generating pain from the spine, which in turn could lead to choosing a different treatment protocol. You complained of sciatica due to muscle spasm/cramp/tightness in your buttox absent trauma. Unless you would be an immediate surgical candidate, MRI is unnecessary for you at this time. This bout hasn't been long enough.

Iffn you go the PT route try to find one who specializes in back problems. I don't have a good opinion of PT places in general. You often end up with a young person who has learning in theory but no practice experience. Spent many painful sessions over the years with zero to show for it.

Pretty much what my Doc said (except for the 38 yrs old part, tack on another decade and change). Saw two different general practice guys over the past 25 yrs or so about it. Both said live with it, do some stretches and don't do $#!+ to aggravate it. If that doesn't work and it gets bad I could consult a specialist to see if cutting me open might help. I picked with the "live with it" advice. This past year when I had some flare ups the Doc added a low dose of amitriptyline that I take once a day.

https://www.verywellhealth.com/how-to-safely-take-elavil-amitriptyline-for-back-pain-296488

Some days in the morning it reminds me that it's still there but I haven't had the knee buckling, lightning bolts down the leg kind of pain in a few years.

Short of being paralyzed or unable to communicate on my own, there ain't nobody gonna cut me open to poke around my spine.

I had an MRI on mt back about 12 years ago - doctor said it couldn't be fixed and I would have to live with it. My sister-in-law had an MRI about 7 years ago and they did a microsurgery that fixed her problem. It may be worth a look just to see what's wrong.

Nah.

Last couple times I went to the doctors hoping for good news (back issues, unrelated EEG) I came away with results that I was not super happy to hear. My solution: stop going to the doctor. Besides, hospitals are full of sick people who wants that?

You need to be taught the proper exercises for your pathology that will get you out of trouble. Just go for a couple weeks and then do what they teach you on your own.

Almost the exact quote from my last back specialist many years ago. I had just told him that I couldn't even sneeze without locking up in pain. I started to realize that I was paying something like $80 a pop for advise to stop sneezing. I did not have insurance at the time. Never went back.
