I need a member name to accompany that one... her views on who can and can't have a wife are barbaric, outdated, and quite frankly someone needs to let her know....

Waiting on a shipper to show, then I may call it an early day and head to the homebrew supply store to pick up grains to make beer this weekend.

Yeah... less wait time. Buy it, open it, drink it... and those Germans... they sure can make beer a lot better than I can.

Yeah, way back when... me and some friends would get together and brew a few batches of beer on the weekends. We always had some just starting, another couple fermenting, and another couple ready to bottle. Kind of a rolling thing of different batches at different stages of the process. Basically it was just a poor excuse get together, drink and do something.

In the end it's not much cheaper than buying it you factor in the ingredients, the equipment and the time. After a while we cut out the beer brewing part and just drank without needing an excuse. Less work that way.

It's not any cheaper unfortunately.

And I'm trying to essentially do the same thing (just bottled a batch last week, have a batch I'm drinking, and starting fermentation on hopefully two batches this weekend)....

I don't even know why I'm doing it (beer I buy tastes better still).

It's more out of curiosity, an interest in seeing whether I can make something I really like....

So... I figured I'd go check to see if any Fest beers were in stock since Victor's brewing talk got me thinking about delicious German Oktoberfest beers.

SCORE! Entire case of (20) Ayinger Oktoberfest-Marzen pint bottles.

Holy crap thanks for the heads up!

Edit: I was trying to get them shipped but looks like it's pickup only and the nearby stores don't have it...

Bummer.

I dunno man.

I mean, the guy sends back a flocking form letter. What kind of “dedication” is that? Think

I used to make some damn good beer.

Developed my own recipes n stuff, brewed with some dudes at a nanobrewery a couple times.

Grew my own hops, grew my own yeast, crushed my own grain, I was all-in. Even built an automated controller and some pumps to build an indoor electric brewery in my basement. But then I just lost interest. Dunno what happened, I just quit brewing.

I miss it sometimes, but I don't think ill do it again. Its a lot of work. I brewed at least 3x/mo. Thats a lot of washing dishes...

I'll let other guys do it and just buy their beer. Same price, more variety, and no washing dishes.

What do you have to lose? It can’t go any worse than your brewing attempts of cold coffee.
