I know I started off with a CB joke, but in all seriousness, I just got a call from my wife that the neighbor across the street had their garage broken into through a window. Someone stole their deceased son's old motorcycle. Cops over there, finger-printing and taking statements.

The wife (and myself) are pretty creeped out by this, so I ordered a 6 pack of sensor alarms for all the downstairs windows and doors. All 5-Star reviews, so I'm pretty certain I can rely on them to be good and do the job if, God forbid, someone tried to tamper with our windows or doors. The windows already have a pin system them only lets the windows open an inch, but these sensors should add a little extra peace of mind.

We use a combination of the Blink security camera system and battery powered motion detector lights to help ward off anyone wanting to “explore” our garage and outer perimeter. The back of our house also has “regular” motion detector lights so they really light up the area. Because of occasional power outages, we went wireless / battery powered. Placement of the lights precluded solar powered but now that we covered all the key areas and more options are available, may add some.

Good hunting in finding the best system / technology for your needs.

Hey, well... the good news in CA is that the governor decriminalized a lot of stuff, so if they steal less than $950 it's just a cite and release and if they do end up going to jail, bail has been lowered quite a bit.

Yeah, non-violent crimes have gone up quite a bit... but it's just stuff, and you have insurance, right?? I mean... those criminal fkn thieves gotta eat, too, ya know. Why should they have to work for their sh*t when they can just steal yours with pretty much zero consequences?

Our main security system is a Great Pyrenees/Anatolian Shepherd mix. He is very territorial and has pretty much eliminated predation on our poultry. He is also the pasture dog and play-with-the-grandkids love muffin. Just don't mess with his livestock.
The emergency back-up dogs are a pair of little Chinese Cresteds that will have the burglar scratching his head in confusion (What the hell is that!?) long enough for Mr. Mossberg to get locked and loaded.
Seriously, though, you can't go wrong with a good dog. The shotgun is optional.

Dearest Monsieur or Madame,

I am sorry to inform you that the people who post on this forum have misled you. They are a bunch of grumpy, pig headed, crotchety, foolish, old, bellyaching, cantankerous old git's. Their souls, are legendary. Meaning, we hear about them but, no one has ever spotted one. They are shriveled bitter things. These people will happily shoot you on sight (those that can still see anyway, the rest will just fire in your general direction if they are lucky) if you so much as give their lawn a funny look.

So, while I do understand your frustration. I do not work for CBid and cannot help you.... Unless you have a hot wife or girlfriend. I can guarantee my personal attention in that instance. Otherwise, I suggest you run. Run from this forum as fast as you can before it sucks you in. The people who post here are evil. They will pour well aged Cubans into your hands and drip honeyed words into your ear. This is a trap. They just want to take you camping, use you and never call again. The Bastids. ( Call me John! I miss you!)

In conclusion. While I do feel for you in your current predicament I do NOT work for CBid and cannot help you. I wish you well in your current endeavors and good luck.

Sincerely,

CelticBomber

We had a rare crime spree in the neighborhood last Saturday night, One neighbor had his wallet stolen out of his truck and another had a car stolen. That worthless CelticBomber hasn't done a thing about it - he was too busy on Zoom doing a virtual herf. I now have to lock my car and truck, but at least I have an alibi.

Huh? For CB that was minimalist. Though it was as easy to understand as a Jackson Pollack painting.

Conan, POTY candidate?
Maybe a lesser category at the Awards Banquet, like Best Foreign Film Cinematography at the Oscars?

I mean, he's like a genius.

You're right Allen.

Hey jaderose...

I find ADT AND SEVERAL OTHER COMPANIES
SIGNS IN THE TRASH ALL THE TIME...

I grab them and sell them at flea mkts for $5-10 each depending on the signs conditions and company name..

People buy them and put them out front to "fool criminals"...

The problem is...there are several types of criminals...

1) stupid ones who believe the sign out front

2) smart ones who know how to detect REAL PROTECTION SYSTEMS BY cables and electronic devices that detect them...

3) smart ones who wonder why someone would put a fake sign up in their yard? Then wonder what is in the house then break in to find out.

Now the insurance rates will increase and there will be people grousing about Greedy Insurance Companies.

If somebody has $50 money clip and $895 in it, someone can just take it. Game changer.
