Yeah, expansion is a b*tch to wrap your head around. Unfortunatly you just conceeded that the ruler would appear relatively larger in expanded space.

This whole argument because I read an article that evidence suggested space is discreet. Unfortunately we can't test this because we can't teleport matter to a void.... or even get within a 100 million lightyears of a void for that matter. It's all hypothesis till you have experimental evidence or solid math to back it up. Because it's unknown whether space is discreet, we might as well be arguing about who's god is better.

True. This is all speculation. But barring some other speculative force, or some expected change in forces, I would see no reason why you would get the sudden dissipation of said ruler.

I don't know enough about the heat death of the universe... but does that require things to dissipate into nothing? That should just involve a lack of energy to sustain life. I'm going to have to look it up

Biden in his dementia fueled ramblings supports BLM. BLM is an organization who’s ideology is founded on Critical Race Theory. Critical Race Theory states that Western Civilization and Religion (Christianity definitely & Judaism presumably but that’s not clearly spelled out for unknown reasons) are inherently white supremacist and oppress people of color. The only way to end this oppression is to end western civ and religion. Not actively being involved in doing so proves you’re a white supremacist or “white adjacent” is a POC (aka you’re a brainwashed Uncle T).

Ipso ergo facto, Biden’s public policy positions are anti-God.

I’m sure somebody will be along shortly to tell me I’m wrong, but the above isn’t an opinion of mine. It’s simply what the academic sub-discipline of Critical Theory, critical race theory clearly spells out in their peer reviewed academic journals & books published on the subject by the leading voices of the movement.

BLM clearly and unequivocally voices their agreement with the above on their website.

Ya’ll so terrified of being called a mean word & desperate to get rid of T$ you’re making a deal with the devil.

Skimming, y’all are debating about the existence of God, quantum mechanics, and the pros and cons of the fiat currency system, among other things?

I don’t know that anyone is or isn’t right in any of those conversations. I’m a Christian but don’t have any interest in debating my faith ATM other than to say it’s always the smartest atheists who fail to understand the value to society generally that faith provides, I switch back and forth on my opinion of fiat currency (it’s obvious benefits for flattening the boom bust cycle comes with serious drawbacks of reckless & unaccountable government spending), and I don’t know enough about physics to be part of the conversation.

I should read the whole thread, y’all derailed the **** out of it Applause

Waffles, no brainer. The crisp edges & soft center, the pockets to evenly distribute syrup, they resist turning to mush for longer, and they’re filling without making you feel like you ate lead that’s now sitting at the bottom of your stomach.

The ambrosia that is pancakes with peanut butter is the only thing that keeps this sporting.

I"m no expert Robert, but I did spend the night at a Holiday Inn Express, so even I know the blanket statement alleging white supremacy to be inherent among Christians and Jews does not rise to the level of meriting a serious response.

I had to look up critical race theory, never heard of it before. I skimmed the wikipedia entry, it didn't explicitly link the theory to religion, though I could see how you could make that leap.

From my understanding of the claim is that you don't need any individual racist to have an inherently racist system if the racism was built into the system at the start... or something along those lines.

Had to go back and read the new guy's post... I think we interpreted it differently...

jumping from "western civilization is based on white supremacy and oppression" to "the only way to end it is to end western civilization and religion" is a hell of a leap there. I summarized (in part) the theory as formulated by them. It’s not my opinion or speculation, it’s what they believe.

Critical Theory is an academic discipline in humanities departments. It’s clearly and unequivocally spelled out in numerous books and academic journals. Research it yourself.

It’s very telling how rarely anyone is willing to debate the validity of critical theory and resort to attacking the credibility of the messenger.

I understand that Critical Theory is an academic discipline. I also understand that Critical Race Theory is a spin off of that. I didn't dispute that these things exist. I don't think they necessarily exist in the form you appear to believe they exist, but I'm sure like any philosophy someone can find a philosopher willing to take some idea to the extremes.

However, I'd like to see some evidence that BLM intends to "end western civilization and religion" before I just take your word on it, internet stranger who believes in an invisible friend.

I typed out a long reply but it’s not worth diving into it and debating it, I’ll just end up pissed off for the rest of the day.

But yes, that’s essentially the gist of it. You yourself don’t have to engage in any behavior that would fit the dictionary definition of racism. The institutions themselves are inherently set up to the advantage of the majority (whites) and do so at the expense of the minority (blacks).

You found that out with a simple Wikipedia search, I wonder why others are calling me crazy for saying the same thing as Wikipedia? Things that make you go Hmm...

Wow. Lots of nonsense there.
All I have done is ask you to provide evidence of your statement that BLM intends to "end western civilization and religion"

And based on that you say I need "fairy tales to cope with the world"? I think it's been well established I am not religious.

I have not gas lighted you. I haven't stated anything as fact regarding either Critical Theory or Critical Race Theory, and I've only asked you to provide evidence for your statements. Technically, you are attempting to gaslight me by accusing me of being a "little idiot who needs fairy tales" for simply asking you to prove your frankly somewhat unbelievable claims.

The burden of proof has not been "shifted back to you". It never left you. You made a claim. You have a burden of proof to in some small way support that claim. You haven't done that yet.

The first sentence was a summary of what you were saying. Including attacking my character via my faith. If you’re not bright enough to follow that...

If you accept critical theory exists then you accept what it’s tenants are (whether you agree or disagree with them), if an organization publicly espouses its support of a theory. Then it’s not on the listener to prove they’re lying and don’t actually believe what they’re saying or intend to act upon it.

You’re asking ME to prove THEY mean what they say. I sincerely hope they don’t but the rioting looting arson and vandalism along with concrete moves of elected representatives they’ve pressured aren’t very reassuring.

Here’s an example to help you follow:

Marxism is a political philosophy that has specific tenants, among them revolution by the proletariat. If an organization says it’s Marxist then it’s assumed they intend to carry out a revolution of the proletariat. If I said “hey guys you know that organization is Marxist, they intend to overthrow our government and end capitalism.”

It would be ridiculous to claim that I have to prove that organization actually intends to do that, would it not? Because by the nature of their beliefs they’ve already said they intend to. What I would be asked to do is prove they’re lying.

Man... you're all over the place.

First, let's look at Critical Race Theory. The primary foundation of Critical Race Theory is that a system itself can support racism. Basic Critical Race Theory does not say one must deconstruct western civilization and religion. I'm sure someone out there has chosen to come to that conclusion based on the idea that the systems in place are racist, but that doesn't make it a tenet of Critical Race Theory.

Second, you seem to believe that Critical Race Theory has "tenets". It's a philosophical framework, not a political philosophy. Critical Race Theory is not Marxism. I see no evidence that one has to believe everything every social studies paper on Critical Race Theory writes, or you're no longer a "Critical Race Theorist". You've chosen to accumulate in your own mind what you think everyone who believes some of this framework must believe. There is no reason why they would have to.

Third, you have not provided evidence that BLM as an organization even supports parts of the philosophy of Critical Race Theory. Some of their activism may have been inspired by it, but nowhere do they say they follow Critical Race Theory as a philosophy. One may find Nietzsche to be interesting, and use his theories to make some decisions in their life, that doesn't mean they believe they are the ubermensch.

It goes without saying that since you haven't even provided evidence that BLM supports any part of the philosophy, you have also not provided any evidence that they would be supporting any of the other aspects which demand the deconstruction of western civilization.

So you have provided no evidence, other than the fact that there is a philosophical framework called Critical Race Theory, and there is a philosophical framework called Critical Theory. That's very literally the extent of what has been established. Start there.

Reading White Fragility by Robin DiAngelo would be a good place for you to start, because you clearly don’t understand the theory, the definitions, and the calls to action required by it.

I’ve summarized the theory, you’re gonna have to do your own legwork on research for us to have a conversation. Because this response is riddled with inaccuracies to the point I don’t believe you’ve actually studied it.

I have never claimed to study it.
I asked what should be very simple questions in my attempt to figure out how you got from Critical Race Theory exists, to Critical Race Theory wants to destroy western civilization and by extension religion, to BLM follows Critical Race Theory and wants to destroy western civilization and by extension religion.

That's only 3 steps. I would think someone who understands this all so well would be able to do that in 4 sentences at most.

I will also expect references so I can check what you are claiming.
