I thought the same thing. Kinda.. Trump delayed the vote for somethin and McCain screwed by voting against his peoples wishes.. Trump shoulda kept his mouth shut but McCain screwed up.. didn't deserve to be disrespected but his personal feelings towards Trump shouldn't have effected his vote... all in the past... well, until election time I guess.. What is most striking is that, even among those who say they didn’t hear him actually say this - a far cry from a denial - not one person has said, "Trump would never say such a thing." It is perfectly consistent with his attitude and comments of at least the past 5 years.

Trump just can't keep his trap shut. Now he is accusing Gen. Kelly of leaking something that he says he never said. Kelly knows a lot about Trump and his disdain for the military. I am sure Trump called POWs suckers and losers.
Even Fox news knows better.
Why do Republicans spend most of their time defending or not commenting on all the BS that Trump spits out. At what point do they just tell him to shut up. Oh yeah, he'll withhold their States fed. funding, that's why.
Last time I looked that funding helps both Republican and Democrats in the state. I guess Trump forgot about that.

Jamie, you might recall I said well before he got sick that he was not someone who had an admirable record pre-Viet Nam
service. You and I were in the minority here way back then...I posted info to a lengthy article in Rolling Stone by Matt Taibbi (sp?) back then as well.

Admirals in the family got him into the Academy where he was at or near the bottom of his class. Several reports of sexual misconduct, not charges, and downed planes would have eliminated any of us from the Navy.

I can't imagine ever voting for him for POTUS, but I do believe as a POW he came to the point in life that many refuse to face and accepted his need to change and became a man...though I still did not embrace his politics I came to accept him as legit going forward due to personal introspection, maybe while in Communist custody and possible torture?

He refused early release that was only offered due to his birth name. Who does that? I'm suggesting possibly a hero. Not sure. But not a loser.

Trump took 3 student deferments and a bone spur to avoid serving the country. He has never been in a position to call any service member captured, injured, or killed anything other than admirable.
Certainly not suckers for serving and losers for getting captured or killed.

Yes, unproven, but we've seen the same language from him before.

Not sure that you really care, but many people who "support" Trump know he's an idiot... potus isn't really supposed to be a popularity contest... people vote for policy, not the person...

In terms of the military, Trump/Republicans have typically let the military do what they want, at least more than the dems... and the Republicans typically shell out more money for the military budget...

To me, it would be weird for someone who is in the military, works in the military, gets paid by the military - it would be weird to see them support a president who plans on providing less money for the military...

Depends on whether more money for the military is of greater value than having an idiot make decisions for the country.

Don't get me wrong, I totally understand the concept of voting for your own interests. That makes complete sense when you have a choice between two functioning adults. But the last time we had that choice was 2012.
