my son Josiah has a friend named Alice... Alice got really sick a couple weeks ago... they thought maybe allergies, maybe sinus infection...

Last weekend, she went from bad to worse... she started having breathing problems, threw up, and declined overall... so she went to the emergency room...

Turns out she has type 1 diabetes... her sugars were 550's and should've been at 77... not good...

Thankfully, she's making a full recovery and is set to come home any day now!

Unfortunately, when she puked, she apparently did so into her container of barbies, none of which could be salvaged...

My proposal: we want to make it rain brand new barbies on this little 7 year old girl whose life is changing significantly... if you want to help, send me a new barbie from Amazon or target or wherever and I'll send you a 5er out of my next cigar order... i don't know what that will be but I like to think I don't smoke sh*tty cigars anymore, so it should be something good...

I actually hate to ask this question but I'm serious...*sigh* Does the little girl have a color preference in her Barbies? I found a Marine Biologist Barbie with a little penguin that looks like something little girls would like and presents a positive role model but she's dark skinned.

youre not the first to ask such a question.... i was told "literally any barbie"... i expect no issues with dolls of any and all skin tones...

Well...I didn't want to just send her a "White Trash Trailer Park" Barbie. I wanted to send one she would enjoy and sends a positive message to a young lady. All the ones with cool occupations seem to be dark-skinned or Latino looking. Fine but I also don't want to disappoint a young lady that just wants a Barbie to play with

In attempts to prevent doubles, this is what I have heading his way via Amazon.

- Barbie Dreamtopia Royal Ball Princess Doll, Blonde Wearing Glittery Rainbow Ball Gown, with Brush and 5 Accessories
- Barbie Doll, Blonde, Wearing Riding Outfit with Helmet, and Light Brown Horse with Soft White Mane and Tail

All the used Barbies that my daughter outgrew were stripped naked and decapitated. I put them where ever I find those happy sun shiny painted rock things people placing around town and hunting for these days.

Also, my son has been dealing with diabetes since he was 15. The Ex has had it since 18.

The Ex is still living the good life, much to my chagrin. My son is managed better than I could have dreamed.

This is not as bad as it used to be, although it is not good.

I thought about that one but I feared for Ken's sanity trying to live with so may psycho materialistic &!+ches. Then again, I shouldn't burden Barbie with my ex-wife's persona.

To everyone who has sent, I apologize for not contacting you individually to let you know when stuff arrives... it's a flurry of barbies coming at me and the way Amazon ships, some stuff comes all in one box, some orders come in four different ones... it's hard to know exactly who sent what...

so for that, I apologize... but i assure you, I'm incredibly grateful to each and every one of you! Alice will be thrilled... I'll snap a pic of the barbie pile next week before delivery...

Opie, I had the Barbies sent to me by Amazon. In hind sight, I should have just had them shipped directly to you. The second Barbie came to my house today, so I'll pack both up and ship them to you tomorrow.
