Hey there,

I'm brand new to the forum here, if the topic and my post count didn't give it away, and wanted to introduce myself.

I've been smoking cigars for a little over ten years, ever since I could get away with getting into the local brick and mortar. Most of my time is spent with my wife and son, who just turned one. What a ride the last year has been.

Luckily, I work from home, as a software developer / consultant, which allows me to head to my local shop about three times a week to work and enjoy a cigar at the same time. Most of my cigar purchases have always been from my local shop until I recently discovered CigarBid. After winning some bids, I decided to check out the forum. I'm also new to forums in general, as this is my first one. After reading through some of the topics, I knew this was a forum I wanted to be a part of. Reading about the "Platinum Membership" and the CBid Customer Service rep had me cracking up. I can tell this is a good group of people that enjoy having a good time, all while sharing a love for cigars.

As far as cigars go, I enjoy mostly medium-full bodied blends, and I have been on a Nicaragua kick for the last couple of years. I enjoy most of the Nicaraguan staples, with a few of my favorites being Perdomo, Oliva, Padron, and to my pleasant surprise Drew Estate (Liga, Undercrown, and Herrera). My go to value smoke is the Perdomo Lot 23, I have yet to find another smoke for the price that consistently delivers solid construction, taste, and strength.

I'm looking forward to getting to know you folks and joining in on the fun. I did just join in on the Noob PIB, and I"m looking forward to participating in more trades and the like.

Cheers,
Jason

Aloha from Hawaii Jason! ThumpUp

Nice intro. Applause

I checked out your profile and saw that you do work for SalesForce. I used to work in sales and in about the last 3-4 years of my 22 year career in that industry, HAD TO use SF on a daily basis. Not your fault but I HATE that fuggin’ CRM! Spent more time inputting and scheduling Events than I did visiting my customers. So glad I’m retired now and not forced to use “The Force”.

Hope you enjoy your time here and learn a thing or two about cigars and the Brotherhood.

Yes we do like to have fun around here and I concur with TW. Great peeps here. Stay out of the politics area though. LOL

If you like medium-full body smokes check out this list I made:

I need to update it but I'm being lazy atm BigGrin

You should try to stop by one of our vherfs on Sat evenings. Bring your hazmat suit though. It can be a total schit show lol.

Welcome to the asylum, Jsnyder. I'm not sure what got into everybody...this is not how we usually say hello to noobs. Must be the earnest, orderly and dignified intro post....good spelling...proper paragraphs...grammatically correct, for the most part...

Smells kinda fishy... sounds so formal, almost governmental. CBid bros have been on edge lately, crying about the Patriot Act... surveillance...wondering if they'll be identified and hauled off in the middle of the night...

Apologies for the delay in response, the little guy keeps me pretty busy.
Thanks everyone for the warm welcome, I was definitely expecting some more hazing haha.

Palama, yeah, SF can be a real PIA sometimes, there are days I ask myself what the hell I’m doing.

Clint, awesome to find another consultant here, have you had to travel much the past year? Also, thanks for the list. I’m also a big fan of the Serie R, Special R, Ligas, and Undercrown. There’s a good amount on your list that I haven’t tried yet, looks like I’ll be placing another order soon to try some of them out.

Delta, thanks for the welcome. No government affiliations here, although that’s what an undercover agent would say, just years of writing emails to clients. The writing style is hard to change!

Tony, here ya go!
Pancakes or waffles ? Waffles.
Do you like long walks on the beach ? Sure! I wish I lived closer to a beach.
Daisy Mae or Ellie Mae ? I’m not sure who Daisy Mae is, and the only Ellie Mae I’m familiar with is the mortgage software. What am I missing?
Do you like camping by the river ? The River, lake, and in the mountains.
Cello on or cello off ? On, I’ve found too many torn wrappers to take the cello off while still in the humidor.
David Lee or Sammy ? David Lee, although I like Sammy’s rum.
Warner Oland or Sidney Toler ? Oland
Have you been in a Turkish prison ? Roger, Roger. Over, under.
Do you like gladiator movies ? Looks like I picked the wrong week to quit smoking..
Have you ever seen a grown man naked (other than mirrors or porn) ? Surely, you can’t be serious?
dogs or cats ? Dogs
Men or women ? Women
Wad or fold ? Fold
Sit or squat ? Sit
TP or bidet ? TP
Do sad movies make you cry ? Only if animals die, aka Disney.
Butter or margarine ? Butter
Pancho or Cisco ? I had to Google this one, looks like I have some tv to watch. I’m surprised they don’t play this one on me tv.

Sun, you’re a Hoosier too? I haven’t always been in Indy, I grew up in Plymouth, and my wife and I lived in Mishawaka for 3 years before moving down here. We’ll have to meet up sometime and have a cigar.

Iz, man.. that was a typo... but I’m still down for a camping trip haha.

Thanks again guys for the warm welcome!

I'll think about it. I don't cotton to no waffle munchers. One of my crew lives in Plymouth. I'm Valpo myself. To be fair, I'm a naturalized Hoosier. Grew up in Columbus. OH, not IN

On a totally unrelated note... I think we should replace Warner Oland or Sidney Toler with Captain James Tiberius Kirk or Captain Jean-Luc Picard.

Oland and Toler were way, way, way back... before even Tony was born.

I'd take James T, but have to admit he was an incredibly irresponsible starship captain. You really shouldn't beam all of your senior leadership down to every uncharted nook and cranny in the universe. That's why the red shirts were so willing to go. If they could beat the odds, they'd have a decent shot at being promoted straight from cannon fodder to captain.

Ah yes, the Captains of the 23rd century were definitely cowboys compared to their 24th century counterparts. I have to choose Picard, the skilled diplomat. TNG is the series I grew up with, although I do love the original series movies.

I'll go with the waffle side, but definitely Belgian. There was a hotel in Williamsburg, Va. that had a free Belgian Waffle breakfast that was far better than any other I've been to. Back then I could usually eat 3 of them with all the fixins.

MACS - the Chan question gives you an idea of age and the best candidates to shmooz for a cigar inheritance.

No need to replace, just augment the questions with the Star Trek one.
