He’s already solidified his status as GOAT for years to come.
And not a particularly appealing one.

Would be nice to see some new blood in the limelight...

14 championship games, 9 super bowls, 6 rings, 4 SB MVP's, 3 NFL MVP's, passing TD leader, prolly be the yards leader next year if Brees quits...

I doubt we'll see anyone that good for that long ever again.

That said, I bet they lose at GB next week.

Par for the course with the two heat pumps. Brick wall They both needed to be reinstalled, including moving the compressors and new piping. The builder's HVAC contractor completely screwed up the installation and all subsequent repairs, including replacing the compressors and evaporator assemblies. I hired a competent HVAC company to do the reinstallation and they replaced both units with the current set about 2013.

Landed and drove home safely.

Wife says we need to do that more often. I said it's resort visits, or camping. We can't afford both, and can do a lot more camping for a lot less.

Flying is nice sometimes. From the time we walked out of the door at the resort until we walked into our house, was 6.5 hours. Would be about 15 hours driving. Which I argue if we leave at 8pm and wife and boy sleep through the night, would only seem like 6 hours of driving. Plus no TSA and stuff. I could go either way. I hate flying, but it sure is nice to shave travel time in half or more. But the time spent doing rental car things, checking bags, going through TSA etc is at least an hour on both ends.

I don't think I would ever go to HI. I have no interest in leaving the continental states, and definitely not if it involves a 12+ hour flight. I can barely handle the 2.5hr trip to FL. The 4.5 hr trip to San Diego a couple years ago was pretty much my absolute limit.

I don't do well confined. I'd honestly rather drive 40 hours than fly 12. I prefer to have an option to exit. Weird thing is wife gets claustrophobic in the car, but airplanes where there's no option to stop and get out for a bit don't bother her at all. If I have the option to stop and get out, walk around n stuff, even if I don't exercise that option, I'm good. I just always need at least a plan B. Getting on an airplane I'm stuck with plan A, and I have no control over it.

I couldn't do a cruise, or a resort vacation in another country where it's not safe to wander.

Plenty of things to do on a ship.. they stop almost everyday somewhere and roaming around is no big deal... in fact in Barbados it's illegal for the locals to harass a tourist... like 10 years in jail illegal... go enjoy the world.. Mellow

Started working on taxes. Wife made a decent amount this year, almost as much as I do in a month. But... her employer did not withhold any federal taxes. I assume it's because they're a church, they just don't do that. Dunno. Withheld SS and Medicaid, state and local were withheld, but not federal tax. I set my W4 with 6 exemptions to toe the line between owing and refund, usually leans towards return due to overtime, but I didn't hit the OT as hard this year so right now Turbotax is showing I owe. Might have to back off my exemptions. Her W4 says she claims zero, but they withhold ho federal tax...

Also the HDD with last years tax files bricked, so I couldn't import anything and I'm stuck manually entering all the information.

Gotta wait on a few more forms to land before I can submit.

I do like road trips and driving, but prefer solo trips, or with my wife only, if I have to take somebody...I was planning a 3-4 week solo road trip to Utah, AZ and NM to visit National Parks before the pandemic hit last year...may still do it when we are clear to travel again...

driving long distances with young children is too frustrating and stressful for me, at this advanced stage in life, when there are alternatives and options

I couldn't do a cruise. I don't like being around people, and even less around people I don't know well.

Before we had the kid I suggested a cruise to wife and she was even more against it than I was, I thought she'd enjoy it so I figured I'd suck it up and go for it but she's even less interested in being stuck in a single location with a bunch of strangers than I am.

Know friends in a 4-6hrs triangle, and spend 1-3days at each place.

Take train for longer rides, but it's got to have a smoke'in lounge. Great for sightseeing, and pretty cheap.
Ex: Balt,St Louis,New Orleans and back, grand or two.

My fishing bruddah has a birfday tomorrow... and he bought a boat end of last year... so I had a great idea for a birfday present that I know we would both use.

Bait tank net! Of course I got a good'un... and I gave him a Cohiba Siglo III, wife made him some Pancit, and I brought some Pliny for us to have with the smoke... so all in all it was a good few hours this afternoon.
