Chase those mice around in kitty cat heaven, my sweet girl.

Poor kitty was getting up there in years. Couldn't hear well, couldn't see well, was walking like it hurt... and recently started peeing on herself. Didn't want to let her go too soon, but I'm thinking at 20 years old, she had a great run and a good life.

Took her to the vet. Petted her while she got a shot to put her to sleep and then another to finish the ordeal.

Yup... I cried like a little girl. Ran out of the vet because I was bawling... hadda go back in because I didn't pay the bill. d'oh!

She was the BEST cat... EVAR! Just finished a Cohiba Siglo III smoke salute.

Sorry to hear it Shawn. It’s never easy letting a member of the family go.

Cheers to Phoebe.

Omg...So sorry for your loss, Shawn! My wife and I know that pain all too well. 5 years ago we had to help our girl cat, Sogna, pass peacefully. It was all so sudden, and we had no time to process the decision we were forced to make. Please know you're in our thoughts and prayers!

Sorry for the loss. You got the timing right.

Was going to make a tasteless joke about you meeting up with my dad for a ride to the doc.... but I’m above that. (Barely).

Funny... always thought to myself, "Meh, it's a cat...".

Turns out she was more than that. I'm good, though. Thanks, guys. This was more of a tribute to my cat than a "feel sorry for me" thread. Totally good... but she deserved the recognition.

Sorry about the little one MACS.
They’re like your children
And I’ve lost two of ‘em.
Each one is a unique individual
And a valued member of the family.
They all mean a great deal.

Except for the black ones...

You know what really sucks, it takes a long time to get over losing them. You see movement out of the corner of your eye and expect/hope to see them when you look.... crap like that doesn’t seem to go away.

I hear you on the “just a cat” comment. Did it myself...

We don’t do the right thing because it’s easy, we do it because it’s the right thing to do.

Phoebe isn’t feeling pain anymore.

Sorry to hear this Bruthuh. I'm a cat guy too. Most of the human race could disappear tomorrow and I wouldn't give a $hit but I do love my kittys and Henry the Wonder Hound. Going through this with my little girl Hildy right now. She's very old and crippled up. I didn't think she would make it through the night but I just checked on her and she's still kicking. Tomorrow she goes to the vet. Not looking forward to that but as Z says, it's the right thing. That is the deal that decent people make with their pets. They give us love and companionship, we give them a home and a promise to not let them suffer.

Rainbow Bridge.

I lost my 17 yr old a couple of weeks ago. She said goodbye to me. It's the end of an era. I'm looking for another tuxedo cat. Such a void to fill. It has to be a something cat, not just some stray roam. I'll miss Ellecye (a play on LC...she was the little cat for a long time) and she left a mark on me.

Generally I'm not a fan of cats, they are little insubordinate self-righteous shitbags that expect you to be their butler. Fuck them, they need to earn their keep the way a dog does.

But Phoebe was cool.

but Kelly and I regret letting him die at home...painful ordeal...we shoulda taken him to the vet, like you did, and we did with our last two cats...RIP Phoebe

Although, we did talk about c0ck in Shawnski's thread, so it's all good.
