Donald Trump has been our president for four years and I hated every minute of it. Starting Wednesday Joe Biden will be our president for four years and I will be loving every minute of it.

For four years a batch of you have tried to shame me into accepting Trump as my president because he was our president. Which of you will be hypocritical liars and will never accept Biden as your president because he is our president?

In one sense I did from day 1, he won. Eventually I called him my president, like I said after a long time. It was very difficult for me to do.

Actually I do. If we ever become the thought police we are in dire straits. Protest is a constitutional right for good reasons. The criminality needs stopped and prosecuted.

Trump was THE President. Accept him or not, he was your president and at least he won in a fair election.

Biden is going to be The President. For a very short time, I'd wager, before the lowest polling democrat takes over... and no matter how much I hate it... It is.

MACS, I wasn't talking about cancel culture or private individuals. I am talking about government. The vast majority of the people at that rally were angry peaceful protesters. There is something wrong when anyone in our government calls peaceful protesters domestic terrorists, or a danger to democracy. This has been going on for some time and getting worse. It is far more dangerous to our democracy. If we ever start arresting people for protesting peacefully that is the beginning of the end of our republic.

We are just a trigger away from what you describe. It starts when we lock up the opposition. At any given time I am minutes from midnight from never posting here again because my humor will be misinterpreted and someone here will try to use it against me. There are already things I may post here that I would never consider posting on any social media.

Tomorrow, Biden will stand there lying in front of the world as he takes the oath, just a formality before he works to foist his anti-American agenda from sea to shining sea—and beyond.

Don't mistake despising trump for loving the opposition. Good character matters when you're the potus. Every time we've hung out, you've always been very respectful and humble... I have a hard time thinking you believe trump's behavior can be overlooked just to temporarily have prefferable policies in place.

Never spent a minute of the last four years liking Trumps behavior. I am however a big fan of calling out other nations when it comes to unfair trade policies, lack of shared responsibilities for defense, currency manipulation, etc.

I'm afraid Joe will prioritize citizenship for 11 million illegals over any of that.

Agreed. I too say things out of sarcasm or humor that would land me in trouble to anyone who doesn't understand my sarcasm or humor (which is quite a few people lol). I'm not on any other social media.

I am really hesitant to lock any political opponents up for almost any reason (thus while I hate hillary the lock her up chants were so disgusting and scary and use of DOJ worse) to the point they can abuse it and use it as cover to commit crimes repercussion free. There has to be a line where when crossed there are repercussions. But where to draw it is tough then will become a never ending game. We got laws on the books and courts.

We survived Trump, so maybe I don't have enough faith in the system. There have been politicians sent to jail previously (Blago, Rostenkowski come to mind) so maybe the system works. But I don't trust it entirely. It's still run by people and in here alone I see people put reasonable thought aside to support their guy and hate the other.

As for this admin I think it is going to be a milk toast geritol vanilla admin that is pretty boring and is a bridge to the next admin 4 years later that could be from either party. Hopefully one of the parties gets their act together. It neither excites me or scares me. Its Gerald Ford II. It truly is time to turn things down and heal. That doesn't mean get silent and accept the absurd like some want it to.

If Trump didn't scare you I'd not worry too much about Biden. I think it's pretty much a placeholder to calm us down after 4 years of the Tourette Presidency .

In the last 10 years I've gone from "send them all home" to "let a select few stay" and now I'm arriving at "get them all citizenship and social security numbers"...

Both parties have made absolutely clear they have no interest in enforcing immigration laws...

There are plenty of common sense, middle of the road solutions that don't involve idiot walls or open borders... neither party is interested....

That said, they're not going anywhere and they aren't paying taxes... one of those things can change and the other likely can't... God grant me the serenity....

I use very little other social media and that seems to be less by the day. I know most people here I can argue with, be sarcastic with, and have a drink and a conversation with at any time. No matter what our individual points of view, there are no snowflakes here. I won't be loving every minute of it because Biden is president. I will be loving every minute of it because Trump is not president. I purposely stated that the way I did to troll Ray Ray and Smooth light. I can't help it, their stupidity is so entertaining.

You know, I guess at the end of the day, I would prefer to have a POTUS who enacts good policies for the future of the country than one I would call "acceptable".

I heard DJT described recently as comparable to a really good Dr. with really bad bedside manner. You sit with him and he calls you an idiot for eating bad food, smoking, drinking and not exercising, yells at you to exercise and eat better and makes you feel like a moron. You go home hating him because he was mean to you, but a few weeks later after you have had a chance to reflect on what you were told, you realize everything he said was correct.

I'm not going to relitigate everything over the last 4 years, and we had an election.... it's over. I've been clear. And I work with and implement some of those failed policies. Love him all you want. I say out with the trash.

And Biden isn't even in the office yet. There really is no need to backtrack. I've never been a Biden supporter but I admit I am no fan of trump. Awful plain awful. I got to see the ineptness of this admin up close and personal. Then add the ass aspect on top. Good riddance.
