Some national parks have long waiting lists for camping reservations. When you have to wait a year to sleep next to a tree, something is wrong.

"Joe Biden is shrugging off a torrent of new allegations linking him to his family’s allegedly corrupt business practices, calling his son “the smartest guy I know”"

Thanks for giving us a benchmark there, Pops.

Ex-girlfriend tells Hunter Biden grand jury about lavish spending

The grand jury considering evidence in the Hunter Biden tax probe heard nearly five hours of secret testimony from an ex-girlfriend who’s furious she got dumped after urging him to get off drugs, The Post has learned.

Her turn on the witness stand came immediately after an appearance by the former stripper with whom Biden, 52, has an out-of-wedlock child, the source said.

Kestan — a lingerie and textile designer who uses the online handle “weed slut 420” — was asked about Biden’s whereabouts and spending habits during 2018, when they were seen attending art show openings and parties on Manhattan’s Lower East Side, the source said.

Specific questions included what hotels Biden stayed at and whether Kestan knew where his money came from, the source said.

Kestan testified about shacking up with Biden at high-priced hotspots including the Four Seasons, Mercer, SIXTY SoHo and Soho Grand hotels in Manhattan and at the Hollywood Roosevelt, NoMad and Jeremy West Hollywood in Los Angeles, the source said.

At one point, the source said, Kestan recalled a month-long stay at LA’s celebrity-friendly Chateau Marmont, the scene of former “Saturday Night Live” star John Belushi’s fatal 1982 overdose.

It’s also the place where Biden admittedly “learned how to cook crack” before being “blacklisted” over complaints tied to his drug use during a five-month period in 2018, as revealed in his 2021 memoir, “Beautiful Things.”

Kestan testified that Biden directed her to withdraw “thousands of dollars at a time” from ATMs and gave her cash to purchase clothing, meals and other items, but said she had no idea how he obtained the money, the source said.

Biden didn’t mention Kestan by name in his memoir, but a 48-minute audio recording of the two of them was posted online in October.

The source of the recording is unclear and it appears to combine two conversations held at different times.

Kestan, who’s around the same age as Biden’s eldest daughter, said in the recording that “one of my flaws, one of my devilish sides, is that I like to talk about things like you because I like to show off. Duh.”

“Do you think that the night that we had sex I wasn’t texting like three people being like: I’m lying in bed with this incredible man?” she said.

Federal agents tracked down Kestan at her apartment in New York City and slapped her with a subpoena to testify before the grand jury, saying her name had surfaced during their investigation, the source said.

Biden revealed that federal prosecutors in Delaware were “investigating my tax affairs” in December 2020 — about a month after his dad, Joe Biden, was elected president but before he took office — and he told CBS News in April that he was “being completely cooperative” but denied seeking a plea deal.

Neither Hunter Biden’s lawyer nor the US Attorney’s Office in Delaware returned requests for comment. Kestan declined to comment.

The probe reportedly involves Hunter Biden’s controversial, overseas business dealings. Last month, a partial copy of a subpoena surfaced that showed JPMorgan Chase Bank was ordered to turn over records related to any transactions involving him and the Bank of China.

On Tuesday, Lunden Roberts — who successfully sued Hunter Biden for paternity of her 3-year-old daughter — was photographed leaving the federal courthouse in Wilmington by the Daily Mail, which said she testified before the grand jury for several hours that morning.

Roberts declined to discuss her closed-door testimony, the Mail said.

The source familiar with Kestan’s testimony said Hunter Biden apparently impregnated Roberts shortly before meeting Kestan, whose 2018 birthday preceded the birth of Roberts’ daughter by two days, and that he never told her anything about Roberts or their child.

In 2019, Page Six exclusively revealed that Roberts was a stripper at a Washington, DC, club that Hunter Biden frequented around the time he was dating his late brother Beau’s widow, sister-in-law Hallie Biden.

In his memoir, Hunter Biden claimed to have “no recollection” of what he called his “encounter” with Roberts, saying, “I was a mess, but a mess I’ve taken responsibility for.”

Kestan also felt “super-crazy” when she found out Hunter Biden married his second wife, Melissa Cohen, following a whirlwind, six-day romance in May 2019, the source said.

Kestan believes she’s responsible for Hunter Biden’s professed sobriety and his new career as a painter because she was “with him at the craziest point of his life” and told him that “art was a great way to see a hopeful future, rather than using drugs,” the source said.

Kestan also feels she got “ditched” after a relationship during which Hunter Biden — whose son with Cohen, Beau Jr., turns 1 next month — was “adamant” that she use birth control, the source said.

Joe Biden Stumbles and Slurs His Way Through an Embarrassing Response to Putin's Ukraine Invasion

On Monday, Vladimir Putin gave a speech in which he recognized the “sovereignty” of two separatist regions in Ukraine, and shortly after, Russian forces began to cross the border under the guise of being peacekeepers. In one cunning move, Putin had managed to get exactly what he wanted without firing a shot, invading Ukraine while being able to deny he was invading Ukraine.

The big question then became what exactly the United States was going to do about the major incursion. Previously, threats of the “greatest” sanctions had been made, most recently by Kamala Harris. As to Joe Biden, he was nowhere to be found publicly, for a full day after Putin’s move, only emerging Tuesday afternoon to finally address the matter.

Showing up an hour-and-a-half late to what was originally described as an urgent news conference, the president took to the podium and drowsily slurring his words in an attempt to deliver a response. Things did not go well.

https://tinyurl.com/yc3m7an5

https://tinyurl.com/3kzvshs2

Watching this man speak is an exercise in discomfort. That he was so late and still showed up mentally unprepared to deliver his remarks is sad — and another signal to US adversaries that they can essentially do whatever they want. Russia has certainly taken that cue, waiting until Biden took the mantle of the presidency to bite off more of Ukraine.

When it came to the content, Biden’s speech was no better. He announced further sanctions on Russia, but stopped short of enacting the full slate his administration had been bragging about for the last month. If this invasion isn’t enough to trigger them, what is? That’s a question Biden and his cohorts have steadfastly refused to answer, likely because they don’t have a good answer.

Past that, on energy prices, the president let it be known that things are about to get much worse for American consumers.

https://tinyurl.com/ywdp52pc

Such damage could have been largely mitigated had Biden allowed the United States to remain energy independent, a mark reached under former President Donald Trump. Instead, this mental invalid meandered into office, canceling federal leases and the Keystone XL pipeline in order to appease his far-left base, without a second thought as to how it would affect the country’s national security. Meanwhile, the stock market is currently crashing, wiping out all the retirement and investment gains made by the middle class over the last year or so.

In the end, Biden reprised the infamous walk-away move that he perfected during the Afghanistan crisis, quickly exiting the room without answering any questions.

https://tinyurl.com/yckjf6fu

Once again, Biden’s backside has become the most iconic part of his presidency.

His speech did nothing to quell fears domestically or abroad, and his physical appearance and mannerisms only made it clear to America’s enemies he’s not up for the job. Where do things go from here? I can confidently state: nowhere good. There is no escaping the consequences of Biden’s ineptness. Rich or poor, agony is coming. That it was largely avoidable should only enrage voters more, as we head toward the midterms.

Biden Touts Chinese-Backed Company at Made in America Event

Pentagon gives $35 million to subsidize MP Materials's rare earth mineral production

The White House on Tuesday featured a mining company partially owned by a Chinese mining conglomerate at an event dedicated to strengthening the domestic supply chain.

President Joe Biden announced at the event that the Pentagon would award $35 million to the Las Vegas-based MP Materials in an effort to boost U.S. rare mineral production. But MP Materials has arguably allowed China to tighten its grip on the world’s rare earth minerals supply chain. Shenghe Resources Holding, which is partially owned by the Chinese government, owns 8 percent of the company. Shenge spearheaded the deal in 2017 to help MP Materials purchase a mine at Mountain Pass, Calif., out of bankruptcy. The Chinese company is also MP Materials’s largest customer, accounting for nearly all of its $100 million annual revenue.

MP Materials’s links to China have long concerned American officials. The Department of Energy warned its scientists in 2020 not to collaborate with MP Materials executives because of China’s links to the company, Reuters reported.

"Clearly, the MP Materials ownership structure is an issue," Tom Lograsso, an official with the Department of Energy’s Critical Materials Institute, told Reuters.

The Pentagon award will subsidize MP Materials's production of heavy rare earth minerals at its mine at Mountain Pass. The minerals are used to produce high-powered magnets used in electric vehicle motors, wind turbines, and defense systems.

James Kennedy, a consultant in the rare earth minerals industry, has raised concerns about other Pentagon grants to MP Materials. Kennedy called Shenghe’s investment in MP Materials a "geopolitical ruse" that helps China maintain a monopoly on the rare earth minerals market.

Those concerns have not deterred the White House. MP Materials chairman James Litinsky spoke at the virtual White House event alongside Biden, Gov. Gavin Newsom (D., Calif.), White House infrastructure czar Mitch Landrieu, and Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm.

Litinsky said MP Materials was "committed to bringing the supply chain home" to the United States but made no mention of his company’s links to Shenghe Resources Holding. He said MP Materials has partnered with General Motors to produce magnets for 500,000 electric vehicle motors.

It is unclear whether the Pentagon has placed any restrictions on MP Materials’s dealings with Shenghe going forward.

Shenghe’s investment in MP Materials is part of an ambitious plan to stabilize China’s supply of rare earth minerals. The company has also partnered with companies in Greenland and Australia to mine rare minerals, Quartz reported. One goal is to "consolidate the achievements of overseas cooperation projects."

MP Materials did not respond to a request for comment.

Biden Approval Rating Hits Record Low As State Of The Union Looms

37%.

That's the new headline approval number for President Biden, according to the results of the latest ABC News/Washington Post poll, the first to be released since President Vladimir Putin sent Russian forces storming into Ukrainian territory. The poll dropped over the weekend, just in time for President Biden's big State of the Union Address tonight.

To be sure, the disaster in Ukraine is only the latest in a series of seemingly never-ending disasters, including surging inflationary pressures, and the US pullout from Afghanistan, have dogged the president during his first year in office. .

His approval rating has been sliding since last summer, as the headline numbers clearly show.

Here's what that looks like in chart form:

Source: ABC News

But it's not just Biden who should be worrying about the latest results. There's reason for all Democrats to be panicking ahead of the midterms.

The poll showed that if the American people had to pick today, they would hand control of Congress to the Republicans.

Source: ABC News

The poll reveals that the main "weakness” behind Biden’s falling approval rating is the doubts about his personal capacities, with 59% of people saying he wasn’t a strong leader compared to just 36% who said he was a strong leader, according to Summit News.

54% of Americans do not think Biden has the “mental sharpness” to serve as president, compared to 40% who say he does.

The public's confidence in his mental acuity has also fallen drastically over the past year.

“Biden seemed to have lost independents, a critical polling group, on this topic,” reports Breitbart. Some 59% of the independents gave the president’s mental sharpness a negative assessment, a rise of 13 percentage points since May 202

Interestingly, the poll also found that 55% of the public believed Biden had mishandled the Russia situation, with only 36% believing he is doing a good job.

None of that bodes well for the president, as he prepares to lay out his agenda for the coming year, while many rank and file Dems are still mourning the death of 'Build Back Better'.

Manchin to Biden: Stop buying Russian oil and ramp up domestic production now

According to CBS, Joe Biden will use his State of the Union speech to impress upon Americans the seriousness of his sanctions on Russia. Count at least one of his own Democratic colleagues among the unimpressed, however:

The US has mostly followed the EU in its sanctions, but Biden has left one thing in Vladimir Putin’s pockets — American energy purchases. “It’s ridiculous, totally ridiculous,” Sen. Joe Manchin (D-WV) declared yesterday, that “we’re buying over 600,000 barrels a day of crude from Russia.” Manchin wants an immediate end to such purchases — and more importantly, an immediate plan to increase American production to return to self-sufficiency.

Any other policy would be “hypocritical,” Manchin warned:

“The entire world is watching as Vladimir Putin uses energy as a weapon in an attempt to extort and coerce our European allies,” said Mr. Manchin, who chairs the Senate Energy Committee. “While Americans decry what is happening in Ukraine, the United States continues to allow the import of more than half a million barrels per day of crude oil and other petroleum products from Russia during this time of war.”

Continued reliance on Russian oil, according to Mr. Manchin, poses a “clear and present danger to our nation’s energy security.”

Instead, the senator urged the White House to incentive domestic energy production and use punitive measures, including tariffs and importation bans, against Russian oil.

“To continue to ask other countries to do what we can do for ourselves in a cleaner way is hypocritical,” Mr. Manchin said. “To continue to rely on Russian energy as they attack Ukraine is senseless.”

Isn’t that obvious? Even Justin Trudeau figured that much out yesterday, although his declaration banning Russian oil imports was entirely performative:

“Today, we are announcing our intention to ban all imports of crude oil from Russia, an industry that has benefited President Putin and his oligarchs greatly,” Trudeau said in French. “While Canada has imported very little amounts in recent years, this measure sends a powerful message.”

Canada hasn’t imported any crude oil from Russia since 2019, Natural Resources Minister Jonathan Wilkinson told lawmakers on Monday.

It’s the thought that counts.

Don’t count on Biden to act, even with pressure from Manchin, Mark Warner, and Richard Blumenthal. He’s ignored the strategic argument for robust American oil and natural gas production since taking office, and well before that as well. Remember when he slipped up in the last presidential debate and said he’d curtail American oil production? I reminded readers that one of the key effects of that policy would be to boost fortunes in the places most hostile to the US:

The US has finally become a net exporter of energy by unleashing production through fracking and greater access to federal land. That production level allows prices to remain low, which is an absolute necessity for any economic recovery. Ending fracking and drilling on federal land will make us dependent on imports once again and to the price shocks that result from conflict abroad. The nation experienced a few such shocks during the Obama administration, when both Barack Obama and Joe Biden assured us — falsely — that we couldn’t drill our way to energy independence. The Trump administration quickly showed that we can, and that we did.

Biden’s pledge, if fulfilled, would have a number of secondary effects, and not just to the economy. Our energy independence has made us much less tied to foreign producers, which in turn gives us much more flexibility in foreign policy. A move to destroy American energy production would benefit Russia and Iran tremendously, making their exports much more valuable on the open and black markets. It would reduce our leverage even among allies like Saudi Arabia and Iraq, and recreate more problems in dealing with the collapsed Venezuelan regime. All of those effects make the risk of military conflicts go up substantially.

And here we are, having stuffed Putin’s coffers with high oil prices over the past year, with a new war in Europe. Low oil prices was a cheap form of containment in dealing with Iran and Russia, much less fraught than having to run guns into Ukraine in the middle of a shooting war. Rather than look at the strategic picture, Biden threw in with the radical environmentalists for his own political advantage — and now has to apply much more provocative sanctions against Russia in what will likely be a futile attempt to stop his murderous ambitions for eastern Europe. The ex post facto sanctions might end up putting us in a shooting war too, although the poor performance of Russia’s military in Ukraine probably has even Putin thinking twice about challenging NATO now.

And Biden can’t even stop buying Russian oil. Manchin’s not kidding about Biden’s hypocrisy.

https://hotair.com/ed-morrissey/2022/03/01/manchin-to-biden-stop-buying-russian-oil-and-ramp-up-domestic-production-now-n451969

I mean the smartest man Biden knows ran a Ukrainian holding company for a group of energy exploration and production companies. He should know a lot about it. Is Biden just stupid or deaf?

It’s Time For Biden To Have a Cognitive Assessment

An American psychiatrist calls out Biden’s obvious deficiencies and recommends he address them now.

By Carole Lieberman

February 28, 2022

Dear Joe Biden:

You are undoubtedly feeling the walls closing in now that Putin is invading Ukraine and bringing the world to the brink of all-out war. Europe faces its worst crisis in 80 years. You’re wondering if this is too much for your brain to handle. I know you care about America and want to do the right thing. I love America, too. So, I want to help you.

As a forensic psychiatrist and expert witness, with over 20 years of experience in hundreds of civil and criminal cases, I have done countless cognitive assessments to determine a person’s competency—and I am offering my services to you. I know that Dr. Ronny Jackson has already written to you asking that you take such a test. I am writing to you now to explain why you need to take such a test—and even to offer to administer it to you myself.

You may already know that I have been speaking about your “encroaching dementia” since before the election, trying to warn people about your not being able to handle the job, especially on the world stage. At that point, I could have been accused of just saying this to get Trump elected—and I will not hide that I am a Trump supporter. But, what I was most concerned about was that your encroaching dementia (which has sadly continued encroaching) would endanger America. And, indeed, it has.

Let me explain what I have observed as symptoms of your encroaching dementia. Your memory lapses have become more frequent and more serious—such as forgetting Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin’s name and calling him “the guy who runs that outfit over there.” When you realize you forget something, you often try to hide it by making something up or distracting your audience. This is called confabulation. Your sentences have become “word salad”—where words are just tossed around and don’t make any sense anymore. You’re emotionally volatile and make inappropriate comments, lashing out at people defensively when you don’t know how to respond to them, such as when you were caught on a hot mic, calling a Fox News reporter “a stupid son of a bitch.”

After you finish your speeches, you look around and sometimes even mutter under your breath, “Where am I?” This is disorientation. But, the worst cognitive deficiency that you have is poor abstract thinking. This is where you need to juggle complex concepts and analyze them to solve problems. Your debacle in Afghanistan has made this deficiency glaringly apparent.

Your ill-planned withdrawal from Afghanistan made America look weak and has emboldened world leaders to believe that this is the moment to take what they want.

Vladimir Putin is just the first. His war in Ukraine is likely the beginning, not the end, of his violent ambitions. Iran is building up its nuclear arsenal. North Korea has been testing nuclear missiles. China is playing neutral at the United Nations while buying up Russian coal and wheat and may make a move now that the Olympics are over. And the Taliban, al-Qaeda, and ISIS are comfortably plotting attacks now that they don’t have to worry about American troops getting in their way. So things are going to get more complicated for you, and analytical thinking is one of your weak spots.

Of course, I understand that you don’t want to risk looking foolish or failing the test. And you like being president and living in the White House. But Putin isn’t going to come down to the basement to talk to you and you can’t get away with calling them “gaffes” anymore.

Some have even called what is happening “elder abuse,” in reference to the people behind you who are just propping you up to keep you as president so that they can get their agendas passed. As a woman, I’m especially shocked that your wife, Jill Biden, hasn’t asked you to resign for the good of the country, to stop you from continuing to make a fool out of yourself, and most importantly to take you to a neurologist to do a workup for dementia. Dementia isn’t curable, but there are medications and treatments for it. And the sooner one gets started on them, the better the prognosis.

Since I have not examined you, I cannot say where these cognitive deficiencies come from. Alzheimer’s is the most common dementia, but you have already had vascular problems, including your two brain aneurysms, your brain bleed, and your ongoing atrial fibrillation, which can cause transient ischemic attacks that could explain some of your problems. I recommend, however, that you go to a neurologist to get a full workup to find out the root of your problems.

The first step is the cognitive test. Then, comes the neurologist. Then comes being on your way to a better tomorrow for us all. Ask yourself, “What would Beau say?”

Psssst...Joe...Beau can't talk because he's dead. Please tell America another antidote about him though. Your supporters live for that.

Police and plowtrucks on every on/off ramp for a week, National Guard and police on every street corner, fencing that cost $2mil/week and makes a prison look like daycare, it’s downright ridiculous. All to protect from a trucker caravan that has been supposedly coming for 2 weeks now, even when they said they are staying outside the city on the beltway. Funny how last January a call for beefed up security was shot down so those on duty can step aside and open doors saying “come on in we’ve been expecting you”. Funny how before that when the city was being overrun the mayor kicked the National Guard out of the hotels telling them they weren’t needed or welcome anymore, just to be called back whenever it fits their agenda. And the best part is how literally overnight the masking and COVID-19 requirements have vanished just in time for the STFU address. Keep uniting!

Oil Slides On Speculation Iran Nuclear Deal Will Be Signed "In Next 72 Hours"

Having earlier hit the highest level since 2008, when WTI rose above $116, the highest level since the summer of 2008 when it rose as much as $140 just weeks before Lehman imploded and sent commodity prices across the globe crashing, moments ago oil slumped dropping to overnight session lows.

While there has been no specific news behind the move, traders are attributing it to speculation prompted by Iranian oil journalist Reza Zandi, who tweeted that he has received "definitive news that within the next 72hours the nuclear deal will be signed in Vienna."

While it remains unclear if this is true -especially since a deal would require proactive support from Russia to effectively help out Joe Biden to push oil prices lower if only briefly - overnight TD Securities laid out an Iranian deal as a potential source of much needed supply at a time when as much as 6mmb/d in Russian supply could be coming off the market, to wit:

A potential Iranian nuclear deal could see roughly 200k b/d of additional crude from fields and more from inventory online fairly quickly and another 1 million b/d over a longer time period.

The news also comes just days after we learned that China is already importing as much Iranian crude as it did before the sanctions, which likely means that even with Iranian oil unlocked, the benefit will be modest and similar to the recent IEA emergency release of 60mm barrels which had no impact on the oil price surge.

However, in a market as jittery as that of oil, the rumor was enough to slam prices. Whether this drop sticks is a different matter.

Speculative enough for traders to factor it in to their trades. Yeah. Oh wait, stop me if you've seen this one before...our President doesn't give a rat's ass about this nation. The Bible he put his hand on to swear an allegiance to. He doesn't care for the Constitution and Bill of Rights either. Sit down, shut up and keep on taking it the way they're serving it and keep kicking up 10 to the "Big Guy".

Fun and games.

Leaders of Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates Refuse To Take Biden Phone Calls, Both Spoke to Vladimir Putin

Remember when Joe Biden tried to claim, because of his election, the U.S. was respected again? Yeah, well, not so much.

Apparently, the Biden administration planned to go hat in hand to the Middle East for help with oil production. However, Saudi Arabia and the UAE refused to even take Joe Biden’s calls.

(Wall Street Journal) […] Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and the U.A.E.’s Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed al Nahyan both declined U.S. requests to speak to Mr. Biden in recent weeks, the officials said, as Saudi and Emirati officials have become more vocal in recent weeks in their criticism of American policy in the Gulf.

“There was some expectation of a phone call, but it didn’t happen,” said a U.S. official of the planned discussion between the Saudi Prince Mohammed and Mr. Biden. “It was part of turning on the spigot [of Saudi oil].”

[…] One U.S. official said the Biden administration has worked diligently to strengthen Saudi and Emirati missile defenses, and that America would be doing more in the coming months to help the two Gulf nations protect themselves. It may not be all the two countries want, the official said, but the U.S. is trying to address their security concerns.

But the Saudis and Emiratis have declined to pump more oil, saying they are sticking to a production plan approved between their group, the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries, and a group of other producers led by Russia. The energy alliance with Russia, one of the world’s top oil producers, has enhanced OPEC’s power while also bringing the Saudis and Emiratis closer to Moscow.

Both Prince Mohammed and Sheikh Mohammed took phone calls from Russian President Vladimir Putin last week, after declining to speak with Mr. Biden. (read more)

MBS and Sheikh Mohammed are not blind. They know the Obama-Biden teams support the Muslim Brotherhood who are the political wing of the Islamic extremist figures creating unrest in the Middle East.

Ran across this "gem" today while reading another story.

I bet it's still going on.

Biden's Gen Z translators

Welcome to POLITICO’s West Wing Playbook, your guide to the people and power centers in the Biden administration. With help from Allie Bice.

It started during the campaign.

If JOE BIDEN’s aides wanted to get the greenlight on a social media project, the most surefire way was to go to Biden’s 20-something granddaughters, who have become his go-to digital validators.

If NAOMI or FINNEGAN BIDEN saw a video or liked a post and told Biden about it, it was just as valuable, if not more, than any amount of data proving its effectiveness, according to Democrats familiar with the dynamic. The digital team was sometimes given directives based on what Biden’s granddaughters were suggesting.

Naomi and Finnegan have maintained that informal role in the new administration, encouraging the president to go beyond his normal media go-to’s like New York Times columnists, local television stations, and network and cable news anchors.

“Anything digital he does is purely because his granddaughters tell him to,” said a Democrat familiar with the dynamic.

A White House official was less definitive but acknowledged the influence of the Gen Z Bidens on their 78-year-old grandfather. “The President talks to his grandkids all the time, and of course he looks for their advice and input on how to reach young Americans and connect with people online,” the official said. (In addition to Naomi and Finnegan, Biden’s grandchildren include MAISY, a college student; NATALIE and HUNTER, who are in their teens; and baby BEAU.)

Naomi and Finnegan’s influence is seen in the fact that as both a candidate and as president, Biden has been game to try out at least some new things, although digital strategists still wish he’d do more. He has participated in videos with influencers like the beauty-focused “Manny MUA” and today he met with pop star OLIVIA RODRIGO. In both cases, Biden was encouraging young people to get vaccinated and the influencers promoted the message on their own channels.

Naomi, Biden’s oldest grandchild, became an internet surrogate of sorts for him during the campaign, participating in video conversations with influencers like CAZZIE DAVID, the daughter of comedian LARRY DAVID, who has nearly half a million Instagram followers.

She told David that she has often shown her grandfather internet memes of himself. “He literally thinks they’re the funniest thing ever. He’s obsessed with them, will ask me to show him more,” Naomi said.

Now in the White House, Biden has agreed to deputy chief of staff JEN O’MALLEY DILLON’s push to set aside about 15 minutes each week for the digital team to make content, according to a senior White House official (it’s not always the same day but he makes the time, they said).

O’Malley Dillon and adviser ANITA DUNN have been the biggest internal supporters of ROB FLAHERTY, who ran digital on the campaign and now heads the White House office of digital strategy. Flaherty has been a big proponent of putting Biden on alternative platforms and mediums. Some Democrats close to the White House worry that the digital team will have less influence once Dunn leaves, which she has said will happen soon.

That’s in part because the Biden team largely has a more old school mentality when it comes to media.

For example, many in Biden’s orbit see local news as a not necessarily sexy but ultimately critically important form of media outreach that too many politicians dismiss. That has at times put them at odds with some of the more digitally-inclined strategists. And it was part of the reason that Biden outspent DONALD TRUMP on television by well over $100 million as Trump still outspent Biden online.

That campaign dynamic is also seen in the White House. The easiest interview request to get approved is one for local TV, according to Democrats familiar with the process. The White House declined to say how many local TV interviews administration officials have done, but it is an enormous focus of the Biden White House, just as it was during the campaign.

Flaherty’s team of roughly twenty people is about the same size or just a smidge bigger than the digital team at the end of the Obama administration in 2016, when digital was still a relatively new component of political comms. There have been bumps too, with one of Flaherty’s original team members quietly leaving the White House earlier this year.

Many Democrats close to the White House think the team should be far larger given how much more powerful social media has become in the past five years. They also point out that JEFFREY ZIENTS’ Covid-19 team has only one digital person, CLARKE HUMPHREY, at a time when the White House is struggling to convince many young, digital-first Americans to get vaccinated.

Still, past White House digital officials think Flaherty and his team are being innovative. “More [staff] is always good. But I wrote a thing during the campaign about how the owned and operated channels (wh IG, Twitter) will consume as many bodies as you can ever throw at it,” JASON GOLDMAN, who had Flaherty’s job at the end of the Obama administration, wrote in a direct message on Twitter.

“This is harder work in part because it moves at a different cadence than the rest of the building,” Goldman added. “But it appears they’ve figured out a way to do that which frankly was something I struggled with.”

Do you work in the Biden administration? Are you in touch with the White House? Are you CAITLIN JARVIS?

Biden Poised To Remove Iran's IRGC From Terror List To Wrap Up Nuke Deal

At a moment a restored JCPOA Iran nuclear deal is said to be nearing the finish line, despite recent complications involving Russia's demand of written guarantees that Ukraine-related sanctions won't hinder its trade with the Islamic Republic, the White House is poised to remove Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps from the official terrorist.

Biden's potentially reversing Trump's 2019 designation of the elite Iranian military group as a Foreign Terrorist Organization is being seen as a final huge concession toward Tehran, with the immediate effect of providing energy markets relief as additional oil supplies are badly needed for Europe.

Axios' Barak Ravid reports Wednesday that "The Biden administration is considering removing Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps from a terror blacklist in return for a public commitment from Iran to de-escalation in the region, three Israeli officials and two U.S. sources tell me."

The same report said that Iranian leaders consider the IRGC's removal from the FTO to be a key final sticking point if a restored deal is to succeed in Vienna.

If it happens, Biden would likely come under bipartisan attack and pressure from Iran hawks - no doubt with Republicans leading the way, however. Israel too is firmly against any change in the current designation as it sees the IRGC as it's number one enemy. The past years of almost weekly Israel airstrikes on Syria are typically explained as targeting IRGC assets in Syria.

Tel Aviv has also long condemned the IRGC's links to Hezbollah - as the two have a weapons supply relationship, and in some cases it's believed IRGC operatives are on the ground training Hezbollah forces in Lebanon. The Shia military groups have also closely coordinated throughout a decade of the Syria war.

According to Axios, the Israelis are especially concerned about any plan to de-designate the IRGC as any "promises" of de-escalation would be so vague as to be moot. Per the Wednesday report:

One idea being discussed by the Biden administration would be a public announcement that the U.S. reserves the right to redesignate the IRGC if it determines that Iran did not follow through on its pledge to de-escalate in the region.
The Israeli officials say the Biden administration briefed the Israeli government that such possibilities are being considered but stressed that no decisions have been made.
The Israeli government is concerned about the idea, and in particular, the fact that the U.S. didn't demand specific commitments from Iran not to target the U.S. and its allies in the region, two senior Israeli officials tell me.

Upon the report hitting Wednesday afternoon, it generated immediate outrage among some Western pundits, despite all eyes being on the Ukraine crisis...

The State Department, meanwhile, when asked to comment on the development rejected reports of impending plans to remove the IRGC from the FTO as "speculation".

The Iranians see the IRGC as a legitimate and integral part of the country's main military branches, while over the past three years Washington has seen it as an initiator of terror plots abroad, and as a main way that Tehran has helped to prop up Assad in Syria, despite American-Gulf sponsored regime change efforts.

While You Weren't Paying Attention, The Hunter Biden Laptop Story Turned Out To Be True & No One Has Been Held Accountable

It turns out that the party who spent four years accusing President Trump of Russian collusion performed a massive cover-up for Joe and Hunter Biden heading into the 2020 election that they have yet to be held accountable for.

This mainstream media dishonesty has become so common, it is part of why I was insistent that the mainstream media is losing the fight of its life earlier this year.

The media's predictability is becoming so blatant that it was easy to figure out that Covid would be a non-issue in 2022 and that we would experience what I called "The Great Covid Pivot Of 2022".

And now we're backtracking on what turned out to be more false claims of Russian collusion. Go figure.

I remember speaking to my father around the time of the election about the Hunter Biden laptop story, where presidential candidate Joe Biden’s son’s laptop was found to contain proof that the former Biden sold his influence to China while his father, the latter Biden, was Vice President of the United States.

And in the midst of an ongoing media cover up of that story, I also remember talking to my father about former Hunter Biden business partner Tony Bobulinski coming forward and blowing the whistle on the Bidens in an effort to get the public to take notice.

Instead, Bobulinski was only given airtime by Fox News’ Tucker Carlson and was otherwise shunned and ignored by the rest of the left-leaning media.
Source: Fox News

We both had watched Bobulinski’s interview and found him to be extremely credible.

I remember my father saying that the censorship of the story and the story itself could, combined, be the biggest political scandal of all time. This caught me by surprise because my father, who has voted both Democrat and Republican over the last handful of elections, has lived through quite a few scandals.

But now I understand what he was getting at. Selling your influence to China while running for President is a big deal. The media covering up that story completely in the United States in the midst of the election? An even bigger deal.
Source: NBC News

Because when you step back and objectively examine the issue of Joe Biden’s business dealings in China, it appeared that he was actually engaged in the types of conflict of interest that his party spent four years accusing President Trump of. Again, go figure.

And then there was the laptop. After the New York Post broke what should have been a Pulitzer worthy story that Biden’s son had a laptop filled with incriminating evidence (in addition to ****** pics taken while smoking crack with hookers), the story was promptly blackballed in the mainstream media and was talked about nowhere other than conservative news outlets.

In fact, the mainstream media didn’t even give the story one shred of an objective chance. Half of the liberal media organizations covered the story as Russian disinformation, while the others didn’t carry it at all.

Here’s what coverage at the time looked like:

The story was literally laughed off of TV and television as some kind of conspiracy theory.

Even social media companies were censoring posts about the issue, despite being reported as national news by the New York Post.
Source: NPR

And then a funny thing happened when the nation didn’t have access to what would turn out to be highly credible information: Joe Biden got elected president and, several months later, Politico reported that some parts of the laptop, including emails at the “center” of the controversy, were credible - a far cry from writing off the laptop as Russian disinformation.
Source: Politico

In March 2022, the New York Times also admitted that the laptop story was authentic.

Casually linking back to its October 2020 story casting doubt on the laptop, in a new, 2022 story about the Justice Department’s ongoing inquiry into Hunter Biden, the New York Times wrote:

People familiar with the investigation said prosecutors had examined emails between Mr. Biden, Mr. Archer and others about Burisma and other foreign business activity. Those emails were obtained by The New York Times from a cache of files that appears to have come from a laptop abandoned by Mr. Biden in a Delaware repair shop. The email and others in the cache were authenticated by people familiar with them and with the investigation.

For a party that is always crowing about transparency and democracy - and a party that constantly labored on about the importance of freedom of press during the entire Trump administration - the liberal media did an abhorrent job of missing what would have objectively been an earth shattering story ahead of a presidential election.

And that tells you everything you need to know about the journalistic integrity of large media outlets in this country right now. As my mom would rightfully say, “Every station has an agenda - the left-wing ones and the right wing ones.”

But perhaps this “agenda” could have just meant that MSNBC or CNN actually covering the laptop story with a bit more of a favorable spin for Biden; it shouldn’t mean totally ignoring the story ahead of an election and pretending like the events in question simply never happened, right?

The worst part is this type of behavior from media isn’t just this one story. We’re seeing all types of narratives being protected and facts being ignored when it comes to the pandemic. For instance, look at what an absolutely bat**** crazy job the hysterical media did covering ivermectin after Joe Rogan got Covid. People were banned from social media and scorned for suggesting the virus may have come from a lab. Now, it’s the media’s leading hypothesis. Would anyone be surprised to see a pivot on ivermectin now? I wouldn't.

The point is that the laptop story was objectively a material story, no matter what party you belong to. At some point, one would hope that the story’s merits would move the needle far enough that even left-wing news organizations would have given it perfunctory coverage.

Instead, they did something nefarious: they covered it up.

And while anybody with common sense at the time would’ve told you that the laptop story was likely true (who is going to fake 200 photos of a presidential candidate’s son smoking meth in his underwear?), admitting it now after the fact, as the President’s son parades around selling his “art” for $500,000 a clip, is both insulting to our intelligence and embarrassing for your respective news organizations.

Finally, remember every time the left tries to lecture you on the importance of journalism and accountability, maybe you can kindly ask them to start by examining the organizations who were never held accountable for ignoring what my dad rightfully referred to as “one of the biggest political scandals of all time”.

It’s a great time for the media that spent four straight years focused on pointing the finger at former President Trump for anything and everything to realize that three more fingers are pointing back at them.

Like many on the left, they’ve become what they claim to hate.
