New Mexico-Concerned about Oil and Gas Moratorium

Leaders in New Mexico are concerned about the 60 day pause on oil and gas leases on Federal land. The industry accounts for nearly one-third of the state’s general fund revenues. New Mexico voted for Biden so you got exactly what you voted for. Underfunded schools and services, excellent. When you vote against you own self-interest you deserve to get screwed.

So chumps, just go down to the local unemployment office and get one of those high paying clean energy jobs. HaHa, jokes on you.

similar to how W.Va. didn't quite get their coal mining industry back by electing Trump...

fossil fuel industry is on the slope to decline, especially if more environmental protection laws, not executive orders, are passed, in furtherance of the US's commitment to the Paris Climate Accord...

those who are reliant on fossil fuels, like the coal industry, need an exit strategy...I predict there will be govt. involvement to subsidize and expedite the transition...

I have seen these guys.

"similar to how W.Va. didn't quite get their coal mining industry back by electing Trump..."

Not really similar, difference of trying to get back something you lost versus getting rid of something you have.

You need to get together with Frank, I hear he's got a plan to destroy the economy via gubmint and Build Better Back.

OK, I see your point...but the long game is the same...

my father was in the local small Mom and Pop grocery store business in the 50's and 60's, in a poor section of town...pretty good business...until the supermarkets became a thing...the first couple years of the 70's were OK, but tough...it was obvious the slide was irreversible...it took 5 more years before he sold, and he shoulda sold earlier...

fossil fuels are a declining industry...and its future isn't gonna be pretty, with all the environmental clean up that will need to be addressed...

I agree that we need to expand the use of green energy but we don't have to do it like a bull in a china shop.

Where do you think all the solar panels are going to be coming from? China, that's where.

The tariffs put in place in 2018 for solar panels coming out of Asia are still there. They only thing keeping any faint hope alive for US solar panel companies/manufacturing.

In early Dec of 2020, Biden said that he will not make immediate moves to remove these tariffs (read that however you want) so it's still a wait and see as to how much China is going to capture with his green endeavors. Tariffs or not, China is going to gain from it. How much will depend on the moves Biden makes.

Just because you found a friend that's an idiot doesn't mean you can call people idiots even though the two of you are idiots.

Just think of all the pollution caused by mining and processing all that toxic stuff to make solar panels and Lithium-ion battery's.
Green Woketards don't think about that stuff.
