Been dipping my toes into sour beers lately.

Picked up a pack of 3Flouds Molten Mirrors. It's a peach saison and damn it's tart. But it's interesting. Good I think. Not sure how to really gauge something that's been naturally fermented and sour from free air yeasts/bacterias and tastes sour. When I was brewing I had a couple batches go sour and they went down the drain and I had to bleach the hell out of everything to make sure I eliminated the offending microorganisms.

Dan, I have an extensive collection of sours in my beer fridge. I stopped drinking last march, and don't foresee that changing anytime in the near future. PM me your addy, and I'll send you a few to try. They're just here collecting dust and I'd much rather they go out to someone who would enjoy them.

Spey - Pretty sure you can still bring back $800 worth of smokes... at Cuba's prices, that's probably 4-5 boxes.

Do it.

Morning guys, it's a toasty 34 here this morning. A nice change from the single digits we were experiencing last week. Baby is finally starting to feel better and actually sleep. Feeling nice and rested today for a change.

Sitting in the dealer waiting room waiting on an oil change. They gave me a $250 gift card when I complained about the short life of my Honda battery so I’m using that.
Free coffee and donuts so there’s that. Wonder if they would mind iffn I had a cigar.

Morning boys. Long swim early today. Going out for a hot air balloon breakfast with a spotter ship. Breaking quarantine but not protocol. We are all fully immunized plus a couple of other therapy's. Landing legally in Cuba and spending 2 weeks there. It will be a working trip as well. Gonna get some cool swag.

Let you know what was great when we get back. Not to sure what their internet/satellite policies are. If legal I will try to journal this here.

Spey, it might be worth looking into a one month subscription to a VPN service for the time you are there. Some even have 30 day free trial offers.

Spey, stop by the Hotel Commadoro and say hi to Alex. He is the best custom blender and roller in Cuba IMO . I have been smoking his creations for years.

not sure about $800 worth of smokes and rum. I seem to recall that for several years prior to the Trump administration, Americans were allowed 100 or 200 $ total, and even then it had to be for personal use only (tough to enforce) and only if the person was part of a humanitarian effort group...something like that.
Trump ended that though.

I have a love/hate thing with the sours.
but even when I like one, I have no idea if it would pair with any particular food or smoke.

I love living near the beach.
Half hour to a really nice beach for us and less than than an hour to the bridges for Cape Cod.

Nice beaches North Shore MA too but no need to fight through Boston.

Some great stuff a little over an hour in Maine but you need to go on the one day a year the water is warm!

Rhode Island beaches like in Newport are about an hour away too, and very nice.

Oh, so he started diet and exercise when it was already too late. You're right, he should have taken his meds until he didn't need them anymore.

Exercise will kill you too. Athletes or people who work out hard grow their heart muscle same as any other. When they get older, the heart gets smaller and fat forms around it. Athletes often end up with heart failure in their 40s and 50s.
As they say, everything in moderation.

Yup. I was working for a healthcare clinic system in the early 2000s. It was the first time I heard patients referred to as “profit centers”. It’s part of the model. Get you into the machine.

Well, my workout goal has always been to live until I die. ie improved quality of life while here. My new goal is to not be a profit center. After my daily 5 miler we are headed to the high country (not Joel's place) for a little maintenance work.
