I heard he exaggerated the whole cancer thing and is hiding out in the basement planning his miraculous return.

I listened to his show in the late 80's and early 90's...tuned out when he veered farther right...

Enjoyed him as an entertainer and listened to him a lot before folks started taking him seriously as a news source or political bellwether. I was hoping he'd come clean and set things straight towards the end but he didn't. He got worse.

Not sure whether he's traveling north or south. Not my decision to make. Talented guy though. I wish him and his family well.

I suspect he needs it now more than ever since presumably he is coming face to face with his maker. I worry about my own odds in that situation and think he faces more of an uphill battle.

not sure if he changed internally or fed his followers what they wanted to hear...when he started out there was more balance between libs and cons and moderates on talk radio, and he seemed more moderate then and spoke about a wide variety of topics, beyond politics...

over the years, talk radio changed,...it seemed the cons became more popular as they focused on politics...the farther to the right, the more popular...

and libs disappeared...so I tuned into sports talk...rarely listen to the radio anymore, since I stopped commuting at the end of 2013

If you are looking for liberal radio, consider NPR.

You won't go more than four stories without..
- adversely affecting women, black and brown people.
- LGBTQ.
- Deserts (food and medical).
- pro immigration.
- some of the victims women and children.
- disenfranchisement.
- mass victimization.

And while they sell the Left all the way through, they still manage to make at least 15 advertising mentions each hour- almost like.... (gasp) ......Capitalists.

Liked Rush initially (late 80s through early\mid 90's). When he had his catch-phrase "Its the Liberaaallllls!" every 15 minutes, I tuned him out. At that point he was far more divisive than he was entertaining.

I don't listen to the radio anymore, except when driving...and it's usually sports talk, news or oldies...

I’m 5 minutes of news on the radio in the shower. A mixture of state and national and I’m done for the day.

Rush, I'll miss you brother.
Remarkable brilliance! Indeed talent on loan from God!
He presented that talent back to his Savior today with dividends. He made a difference in the world. Connecting to every kind of people group through simple truth.
Incorrigibly cheerful, positive, kind, warm & generous.
Thank God for the gift of men like Rush.

I never liked listening to him. He sounded like a blowhard that often made things up as he chirped along.
He seemed to calm down a bit when he lost 200lbs, but still not a fav to listen to..

I'm gonna miss not liking his rhetoric .. RIP you ole windbag, you.

I was never really a fan of Rush.
But he was twice the human being the author Phil Owen is.

I don’t know who Phil Owen is but assume it’s someone in the link quoted.

That said Rush has assumed room temperature. Like him or hate him we should leave his weight out of it.

He was an entertainer who gave his audience what they wanted. No more, no less. Just like every other talking head. A gift from God? Isn't that special.
