The david Letterman "that I really remember" is the WILD MAN who beAt people verbally to their faces...the guy who kept a 12 GUAGE pump shotgun under his desk...

Yes ...A FRIGGIN SHOTGUN under his stage interview desk and would take it it out and "falsely rack a round" ( just like the sound that Uncle cool Joe xiden stranosa loves to talk about) whenever he got pissed about something...THE SAME GUY WHO WOULD THROW ANYTHING OFF A 5 story roof top...and it would A.L.L. blow up REEEEAAAALLLLL GOOOOOOOD!!!

the David Letterman SHOW (RAN FROM 1982-2015) of the 1980's was NOT POLITICALLY CORRECT...
AND if you accepted an interview on his show...you ABSOLUTELY KNEW HE WAS GONNA F**K WITH YOU IF HE WANTED TO...IT WAS HIS "SKIt".. it was normAL and you ABSOLUTELY knew it goin' in...NO SURPRISES...IF YOU DIDNT...BLAME YOUR TALENT MANAGER..

Now all these snowflake loser crybabies Are watching every Letterman re-run and trying to bury Letterman in cancel culture...

Here's an insight !!!

Check who's paying these losers to do it and it will be a short list...
Oprah is behind this crap big time...she hates Letterman...and prolly about 3-4 other rich demoCRATIc pricks in cahoots with Oprah...

Gauuuurrrrreeeeettttteeeeddddd!!!!

Anyone else ever wonder if Jones lives in a different dimension and we are the only ones that can somehow communicate with him?

We are all just caricatures of our Ids and egos; figments, avatars, and fundamentally base tards.

What I am finding out is....

On the internet....when you Google David Letterman and pump shotgun... ABSOLUTELY nothing comes up...
I mean nothing...

Letterman used that shotgun SCHTICK FOR YEARS!

Can anyone else back me up on this?

Gotta be a few unauthorized biographies on David Letterman that talk about his early years and the pump shotgun....
Something would piss him off.. Then
The camera would zoom in on his face...he'd make a pissed off face, then lean over and pull out the shotgun and then rack the slide...several times a week in the first few yrs of his show...
It's almost like that history has been erased for some strange reason?

Letterman lost relevance when he got moved off daytime tv.

Yea, I said it.

He was the WORST Late Night host of all the shows going. I cannot believe for a second that he actually thought he had a shot at the Tonight Show. A good guest a host does not make!

The Mad Dr. is just mad because he saw the show the night trump was on showing his tie line and Dave pointed out that they were made in chaina. TD syndrome.

Nope...I miss the Dave that was spontaneously funny and not the scripted blithering blinking idiot he became on late night.

Thanks for trying real hard though. I appreciate the effort. I know it was really hard for you.

ThumpUp

I was a Carson guy...the gift of the interviews.

I also appreciated the cerebralism of Dennis Miller and Conan O'Brien

Arsenio ALWAYS brought on a good musical guest.

And there was the heir apparent...the one the networks couldn't do without...Jay Leno.

I'm pretty sure I remember him doing the shotgun thing but can not find anything out there.

Everyone always forgets about Mike Douglas and Dinah Shore!

Ironically...being raised on Douglas on almost a daily dose...I thought Letterman was copying his style.

So that's why you hate him so much...

Letterman was a new kind of lunacy and sarcasm that hadn't been seen before.
Moments of absolute hilarity and wit, but not mainstream enough to fit into the Tonight Show mold.

Ummm....it's like the words...are not being read by you.

Seriously.

When he moved to late night all of that disappeared. It was only good viewing when he had a guest that totally stumped him or was actually more funny than him.

That pretentious back patting on Netflix...hey if that's what you call a good interview...dial in and be entertained. Its more of what you tried to describe but with a greying beard and shabby chic wardrobe!
