I agree nice reviews, was t throwing shade but reading and following rules makes or breaks a pass/blind review thread. Most fog s don’t like problems and don’t like guys getting reps they don’t deserve. Everyone involved in this is in good standing AFAIK and I sure like to see it stay that way. Just remember sometimes guys being deeks isn’t to get someone to go away it’s to get them to STAY. Hope that clears my comment up.

Cigar A
Thick cap at least a double cap might be a triple .
Pretty sloppy roll job , lots of veins couple thick ones packed good and tight

Cold draw perfect kinda sweet
1st lil black pepper on the half retro
Solid medium smooth pepper. As I’m not a pepper bomb.
At 1/2 inch burn is wonky so I set it in the ashtray to allow it to recover.
This works this time. now we have a slight cream and a leather with a nice ash
Touch of sweetness together with the rest now.
2nd cigar is smoking and burning perfect now
Flavors are pretty leathery now with the semi sweet cream coming and going. Still medium but seems to be building
Finish has become longer with more flavor subtitles than body
The ash has to be broken off it hangs on tough
3rd
After ashing the cigar tastes like bbq like if you ever smoked meat with real wood. After a quick touch up the nicotine seems to be building up.
1 1/2 left. I usually throw them out before this but this smoke is above average with interesting flavors
Not sweet like Honduran or even Dominican. Not what I think of when I think Nicaragua. Flavor of its own.

Initial guess. Mid range Cuban. Only mark against it is construction. Smoked pearl tasted great. Never had a Cuban to compare with but I may have smoked my first one. That said I have no idea name or manufacturer

That’s my guess.

50 minute burn time on a 4 1/2 by about 48 ish smoke

Cigar b
6x 45
Double cap pretty confident on that. Super tight seams nice tight pack. Perfect construction. Flawless

Preflight draw. Perfect

1st chcholate black pepper harsh pepper on the very beginning
A lot of cigars I tend to really enjoy start this way. Reminds me of a master blend 3. Sweetness comes in almost immediately
If it matters at all this ash is very white. Somewhere between smooth and harsh at this point. 1/4 inch in. Waaay more smoke than average. This reminds me of a drew estates more than a master blend at this point. It’s also round so not a master blend
1/2 in. Medium plus on both flavor and body

2nd a touch of nuttiness has stepped in Faint wood Pepper is gone
So far this is a superior roll job though I enjoyed the flavors of number A more
Stick is mellowing down to a standard medium
I enjoyed the first third much more at this point
This cigar will not need any burn corrections. Sharp as a razor blade
Flavors are leather and a hint of black pepper. With a long retro you’ll find the hint of pepper at the end

3rd
Nothing new to report medium on the button all around.
She fell flat on me
As a rule cigars tend to build in strength and body even finish. This one has done the polar opposite

Enjoyed this cigar
Initial guess
Dominican Super white ash. Semi sweet.
I think it’s a house blend Dominican.
Burned 1 hour 10 minutes

Number C
Pretty clean roll 5x maybe 51 lol.
I’ll call this a pretty nice double cap. Tight seems with a couple veins appearance falls in the middle of A and B with B being perfect

1st. Perfect draw once again
Black pepper on the initial light up
A quick little touch up just to make sure things begin correctly
Some sort of spice I’m not familiar with has appeared. It’s almost spicy but not what I’d call red pepper
Spicier than red pepper is what we will call this
Burn is very wavy but I’m not going to interfere at this point
A sort of creamy taste has stepped in easing up the spicier than red pepper flavor
Medium plus flavor with medium body
2nd.
This stick has been all over the place creamy rich smoke now with no pepper or spicier than red pepper
A specific wood of a type I can’t name and very creamy now.
Barely full bodied
Medium plus almost full flavor
Ash hangs on well but is much softer than the first two sticks above
Burn line is irregular almost like points of a crown or some such
Spicier than red pepper has checked back in replacing the cream
Strange wood is still there
Final 3rd
More of the not red pepper burn correction involved
Body + flavor are just at full
Finish has become longer throughout the entire smoke
Ash is fairly flakey
Wood is still here but it seems to be a different exact wood than the original wood We will call this a heavier wood

Very rich and building towards full
We’ve got heavier wood and spicier than red pepper at this point. A good half retro begins to burn the nose

1 1/8 th left I’m gonna guess this is the top tier.
Guessing this due to the way this cigar was all over the place in an organized manner.

Country of origin. No freakin clue. Not strong enough for Nicaragua not sweet. Heck maybe Cuba.

I feel better about the first two guesses.

A medium weight LFR from ZRX arrived today with a message written on it... "Platinum Member Camping LLC". Contents are a bit confusing...
1 - one-way plane ticket to the west coast
1 - Kingcamp Plus Size Flannel Sleeping Bag
A variety box of 21 MREs, enough for 7 days
A box of Preparation H cleansing wipes
A family size container of Vaseline
And something called a "Kentucky baby rattle"
My question is, is this a camping invitation? And if so, do I need to bring my own toothbrush? Confused Blushing

But seriously, he hit me with a nice looking threefer of unbanded mystery smokes, a bag of top quality banded smokes and a kickazz bottle of booze.

First, the mystery three...
#1 - 4.5" x 50ish, tanned leather color.
#2 - 6.2" x 50ish, milk chocolate color.
#3 - 6.75" x 48ish, dark raisin color, pigtail cap.

An awesome baker's fiver...
- AF Hemingway Signature SG, I think?
- AF 858 RSG
- CLE 25th Anniversary 50x5
- Sin Compromiso No.7
- Sobremesa Brulee Blue
- Tat Tattoo Caballero

And last, but not least, a beautiful 750ml bottle of Buffalo Trace...a bourbon I have yet to try, wanted to, just had problems finding it. I shall crack it and burn one of the mystery cigars tomorrow evening!

Thanks, Z, killer hit man! Applause

Sorry mine is taking so long to get to you. I thought I'd be slick, opt for FedEx to avoid USPS and make record time shipping coast to coast...I was wrong! d'oh!

#1 VEGUEROS TAPADOS 2017 (cc)
#2 DREW ESTATE HERRERA ESTELI 2015
#3 MONTE EDMUNDO 2017 (cc)

Really nice reviews Jake. The intention was #1 was low, #2 mid and #3 high but in doing a quick search it seems #2 can be had pretty cheaply nowadays. I was worried about #1 and #3 because cc performance can be questionable at times, especially #1. I've had some of those that were down right fantastic and some that bordered on unsmokeable.

Well I’ve smoked my first Cubans. Dang. #1 smoked like a dream gummy.
I’m a little shocked I got the two Cubans correct.
I mentioned drew estates for the second one. Due to construction and smoke output.
Honestly I was gonna guess cohiba on the last one. But I’ve never burned one so I wasn’t sure how to label it.

I’m pretty happy with my performance

I almost switched # 1 and 2 but I really enjoyed # 1. Well above average.

Thanks gummy

Lee bot. I guessed Cubans because it was unlike anything I’d ever had. The flavor profiles were different than what I’m used to. They really did have a flavor of their own. The monte was considerably different than the first one but once again unlike anything I’d ever had.

The Herrera Esteli threw me but it’s a blend of three different countries like a lot of cigars are. Honduran Ecuador and Nicaragua. Blended together with a Snow White ash made me think Dominican.

I’ve discovered why people search for Cubans now.

Also I realize wrapper color means nothing But these days typically a darker wrapper would indicate a more full smoke.

I would have guessed both of the Cubans to be very mild by appearance yet both were leaning towards full. That’s where my guesses came from.

Good smokes gummy. I had fun with this

(Review #2. Cigar #1 I think? I took em out of their labeled sleeves. 6 x 54ish)

...a sudden bump in the road shudders the car and rattles me free of sleep. I survey my surroundings and see nothing but blackness speeding by.

"Keith, I think we just hit something!" I say, with great concern.

"What's this we stuff?" Keith retorts sleepishly, "You're the one driving."

He's right and I resent him for it, but there are matters of far greater concern at the moment so I let it go.

I sense we've been on the move for hours - days even - but as the scenery and asphalt speeds by and beneath us, I know we aren’t close.

"How much further, Keith? I gotta pee."

"No telling" he replies, "I don't know where we're going."

Our car screeches to a halt as I pull to the desolate highway shoulder.

"Look" I say as I unfasten my seat belt, "one of us clearly knows where we're going, and - clearly - we all need a little time to remember who that person might be. What do we have to smoke?"

Keith reaches into the glove box and retrieves an unbanded cigar - a 6 by 54ish cluster of leaves enveloped by a wrapper of beautifully light hazelnut brown, covered in veins barely visible to the eye - like the well waxed leg of an anemic Ecuadorian babushka.

I lop the head of the cigar with a double guillotine and draw; the essence of tobacco and dried raisin are pulled swiftly and without resistance through the smokeless air. I apply the torch and almost instantly, I’m near-certain this cigar is an AJ product.

(There’s a strength I associate with AJ, but a flavor I associate with nc upmanns [like a musky cologne] and it’s probably the fact that I’ve consumed so much thc, but I seem to remember my local had a colab stick between AJ and upmann, and that’s what I’m gonna guess this is. Again, I’m about 2 puffs in and drenched in thc, but that’s my guess.)

As we sit, alone, on the lightless desert road, the car now filling with cigar and something else smoke, Keith jolts like a man struck by lightning and exclaims, “The wedding!”

“Of course, the wedding!” I respond.

I start the car, throw it in gear and lose traction as we maneuver from clay to pavement. At once, on the distant horizon, life and lights begin presenting themselves, and as we draw closer to the jubilance, many-a-little things begin to make sense - our tuxedos, the wedding gift in Keith’s lap, the Reverend in the back seat.

“Worry not padre” Keith assures our holy passenger, “we got this!”

We don’t, but Keith is great under pressure.

Closing in on our intended venue I begin, as well, to close in on the first third of what I’m increasingly confident is an upmann or similar cigar. There’s a distinct flavor on which I can’t quite elaborate, but I know it well.

When I first started smoking cigars I would visit gas station humidors hoping to stumble across something worthwhile. Upmanns were to be found always, and they filled the humidor with a distinct note. This is the note I’m tasting now and it dominates the flavor. What unexpectedly accompanies the flavor is a strength - one that contributes near nothingness to the taste - but somehow manages to keep the cigar palatable.

I’m enjoying it, despite it being outside of my normal range of preference, but without the strength I don’t think it would be quite as enjoyable. I’m both confident in my guess and confident that I’m way off the mark.

We arrive at a spectacularly designed and decorated castle of sprawling grey and white stone - an oasis in the midst of a lifeless desert. And what life indeed! Guests of all shapes and sizes dressed vibrantly for the occasion scurry off in every which way, and as we escort the man of the cloth from car to castle it’s obvious the reaction is in direct response to our arrival; clearly we’ve arrived late.

We tail behind the distraught preacher as he’s now hurriedly and frenziedly ushered to a side door of the castle by a rather rotund woman whose dress on any other occasion might be interpreted as an attempt to endear herself to a sort of rare and endangered bird, of the swan family perhaps; but such clothing is tolerated at weddings and as such I urged Keith to bite his tongue.

We reach the door only to find it slammed with the reverend on one side and Keith and I very much on the other. I look down at my halfway smoked cigar to notice a small portion of the wrapper has succumbed to an ever expanding filler - common place, in my experience, when dealing with a somewhat thinner wrapper.

The burn line is in need of a slight touch-up, and in doing so, the crack in the wrapper is mostly dealt with. The flavor of the cigar has remained consistent - a mild, cedary, florally-cologne taste that, again, I tend to associate with nc upmann’s. I wish I could elaborate on it a little better, I just know it’s an unmistakable taste that I’ve always associated with upmanns.

Fairly confident my smoke will be less than appreciated within the confines of the wedding hall, Keith and I make our way around the exterior of the venue. I’m feeling a bit purple so I search my pockets and come up with a bag of herbs and some chocolate. Unsure of which will help, I consume both via their respective methods.

Keith spots a lone bridesmaid standing a good football field away, who in turn has spotted our cloud of smoke. She fires off a glance of palpable judgement. Keith has mistaken it for flirtation and - despite what I feel is a pretty good argument against it - Keith decides to approach her with romance in sight.

As he begins his awkward dance of shameless romantic pursuit, I turn my eyes back to the cigar in hand, which is quickly winding down. Near being put to rest, it hasn’t once changed its color. A bit of a one trick pony, but an enjoyable one. I doubt I would seek it out again, but I’m thankful for the chance to have smoked it.

I look back towards Keith only to notice he’s descending upon me quickly, a posse of angry looking groomsmen hot on his tail.

“Start the car!” he yells.

“Damn it Keith!” I holler back as I race toward the car. “I told you bridesmaids don’t wear that much white!”

As we leap into the car and speed away from the castle, back towards the red sea of waterlessness and clay, I stub the cigar out in the ashtray and take a long draw of cannabis.

“Where to now?” Keith asks as he hands me one last unbanded cigar from the glovebox.

“Wherever you say Keith” I respond, “I’m just a figment of your imagination.”

My first time.

She was a dirty blonde / brunette, kinda tall, slender.
She had a hard body, almost too hard, several visible veins.

I think she had been around a while. She smelled musky, but in a good way. Not wanting to play around, I opened her up. Heat on one end…

my mouth on the other.

I could immediately tell that she was not the adventurous type, didn't want to spice things up. She was too tight. I had to open her up some more, but that didn't work, so I drilled her out a little to loosen her up.

About an inch or so into her, she started coming alive a little more, getting a little bolder. I tasted her again, and she tasted like nuts.

And wood.

She had a nice tight ash.

But her skin split a little from all the heat.

About halfway through, I got caught up in my own head, wasn't paying attention to her, so she grew cold on me. I had to heat things up again. After about a third of the way through our little foray, she loosened up more.

I liked her more, the more time we spent together. She was consistent.

She came alive a little more toward the end. She had lasted a long time, stayed with me till the end. But ultimately, she just didn't seem hard to get. She deserved someone else. I had to explain to her that, "it's not you, it's me."

I nudge Keith. Now harder. "Wake up dude."

Opal ran him ragged. Im on my own.

#2 from Jake is a dark, slightly toothy box pressed single cap that screams PAM. With that im mind, I promise an honest review and will not refer to any other reviews but admit I've had over 50 pam64s. Barnyard on the wrapper, dark fruit and chocolate on the foot. Looks to be 6" x 48 or so. Beautiful day and allergies creeping in. Slightly firmer than perfect draw and the soft flame makes short work of the foot. I admire the invisible seams and subtle, almost non existent veins reminiscent of an ecuadorian breast bathing in a jungle stream.

1st
Fantastic smoke production. Tobacco, cedar and white pepper. The finish is smooth and enjoyable cedar and faint cayenne but not long at this point. Im picking up mango about 2/3 through a slow exhale. The ash alternates between shades of grey. 1.5" into this beauty and im really enjoying the rich smoke. The pepper has faded and tobacco=cedar>coffee>cocoa +/- leather and fleeting sweetness. Did I mention this is my favorite cigar? The burn is literally perfect and im refusing to tap this ash: next stop, my Easter shirt.

2nd
As I was organizing my thoughts my pink polo shirt got a nice grey dusting. Tobacco and cedar continue to dominate with earth and burnt toast rounding out the exhale. The finish remains average and the pepper hasn't returned to any significant degree. If I motion my tongue like im chewing cud I get a little dark, dried fruit. Two days of ham and my belly feels like it's going to explode. Like the first mystery cigar, the flavor is full and the strength medium to medium plus.

3rd
The cigar continues to predictably deliver the same distinct flavors and exceptional construction. I really do like trying different things at different price points but when I smoke pams I often find myself wondering why I ever smoke anything else? The second ash is holding on strong and a constant but not overwhelming amount of smoke emanates from the foot. Im determined to pick out a new, interesting flavor out of this last couple inches (that's what she said.) Then it hit me, or maybe it was mixed with a hammy burp, charred hotdogs with a dab of cheap yellow mustard (Kroger brand, not Heinz or Coleman's) and washed down with a quick sip of purple (grape) huggie. That's what im talking bout. Yet I can't help but feel disappointed it isn't Cherokee Red pop in a can. Oh well, there's always next year.

Speaking of next year, whomever has me in the mystery cigar sampling, feel free to follow Jake's lead and send me a pam64. Great smoke on a great Easter Sunday! Thanks Jake.
