On this day, June 9,

68 - Roman Emperor Nero commits suicide, imploring his secretary Epaphroditos to slit his throat to evade a Senate-imposed death by flogging

1856 - 500 Mormons leave Iowa City, Iowa, and head west for Salt Lake City, Utah, carrying all their possessions in two-wheeled handcarts

1997 - British lease on the New Territories in Hong Kong expires

Hong Kong was MUCH better off under the British. I visited that port more than any other while I was in the Navy. 11 times. After the Chinese took over it got dirtier, crime went up, and the nice bars in Kowloon and Wanchai turned into dives with a buncha russian d-bags peddling women from all over.

Sad for the folks who live there.

Truly sad.....Hong Kong was in my top 5 West Pac port visits.I've been in several ports where the Russian's ran the show, they bring a whole new level of debauchery to the game...........calling them douche bags is being kind IMO.

Can anyone recommend a good cigar lounge in Orlando where you can get a decent drink and a smoke? My son just texted me... evil child that he is. He knows I'm dying to get out and have a nice relaxing drink and a smoke at my local watering hole. Any tips appreciated!

Heh I called my boy and told him I was asking around. He said "Mom didn't plan anything for our last two days here so, I'm ditching her." God I miss those days.... Young and dumb wandering around a new city looking for some fun.

A couple years back I met rfenst and DMV at a really nice shpo. Great selection of cigars and booze. We hung out and had a few glasses of Scotch. Good times.

Got the bill from drywall dude. Should've used my old drywall dude but he was booked out a lot farther. New dude did a good job, no complaints there, but charged double the other dude. Guess thats the price for English speaking drywall dude.

And the dealership called. Said "it's really bad"

Theyre pulling intake manifold now, may need to dig even deeper.

Morning Azzhats. Living the dream like always. Taking junior out in public today. Time to start our new normal. My dad and Sandy to junior out for a ride yesterday. The lads were not happy. When they arrived home the lads individually checked him out to see all was well. I'm glad they have bonded with him. Going to Carson City for supplies today. Then hiking for a 1/2 day in the Sierras.

Hose in the V under intake manifold burst.

Hoses specifically excluded from warranty. I argued if it's under intake manifold, that is not a maintenance item, that's internal components. Nope, it's not covered.

Danm ,is this something they missed the last few times you brought it in? Maybe worth talking to an attorney if the repair cost is high enough.

Man, that sucks!

I love my Machine Era metal wallet: https://www.machine-era.com/collections/frontpage
Update: Not in Stock, grr.

I don't like carrying anything but minimal needs, licence, CCW permit, medical cards and credit cards. I carry it in a button-down pocket.

Family pictures are kept on my phone.
