Copied and pasted, with minor editing, from last year.

Allrighty folks lets get this party started!!

It is time for the "Official" Start to this year's festivities.

As many of y'all know Operation From the Heart is a nonprofit organization that sends care packages to our soldiers serving abroad. OpFTH is 100% donation driven, when the donations stop Bill and the other agents fund our shipping costs out of our own pockets.

All donations go the Operation from The Heart shipping fund!

Here are the "General" rules

Once again this year is all about shipping funds as Smitty informed me that the OpFTH account is basically EMPTY

This year's goal is a minimum of, NOPE, not this year. I know that all will give till they bleed and we don't need the added pressure of a goal. I will work on keeping a much better count on donations to give final count as some people have asked me for one in the past.

YOU CAN PLEDGE ANY AMOUNT!
Here is how you can make your contribution.

Personal or Certified check, or money order.(Send to schmitty but make them out OPERATION FROM THE HEART or OPFTH (not schmitty))

OpFTH
29456 Groesbeck Hwy
Roseville MI 48066

After the CAT last year, there was a upgrade to the web page that allows someone to pledge a donation every month directly from the website via paypal. super easy to do! and no need to keep track of paper or deal with snail mail.

Cigar donations can be sent to

schmitty (at the same address above)

please be sure to add a note with your CBid handle, # of cigars and that this is for the C-A-T if sending cigars (will make verification much easier)

The preferred method for monetary donations is paypal. goto Paypal and send money to: [email protected] if that is easier for you Techies REMEMBER TO INCLUDE YOUR CBID HANDLE

^^THIS EMAIL ADDRESS HAS CHANGED FROM LAST YEAR SO PLEASE PAY ATTENTION TO THAT DETAIL!!!^^
Instant, Secure, online contributions VIA Paypal VIA Credit Card on the OpFTH website!

www.opfth.org
Click on the Paypal or JustGive Logoโ€™s on the left hand side of the page.
WE prefer PAYPAL, you get an instant receipt for tax purposes!
The paypal will provide Schmitty with real time verification, and lets try to make his life easier.

Paypal is the prefered method (DO NOT list Cigars or Cigar Bid anywhere in the donation...Title donations "C-A-T 2020" Email your confirmation receipt to Ypetryna, PM for e-mail.

Prizes determined based on random draws

Tentatively only one prize per donor (this could change though) and just because a donation is made does not guarantee winning a prize.

Fund raiser will run up until July 4th Prize drawings will take place a few days later, Donations MUST be confirmed to be eligible.

The Prize Structure will follow shortly

No prize tiers this year and while there is no "minimum" donation amount please remember that we are talking about cigar prizes that for the most part are worth at least $50 and much more considering all the Full boxes of smokes being offered.

Each box cost roughly $19 to ship. That is as easy as winning one less fiver this month, or sending one less PIB/Trade/RAOK etc

Now just a few bits of FYI

OpFTH is a 501(c) Non-profit
None of the Agents or Directors take a salary, we are 100% volunteer
The main office (smitty22 in Roseville MI) spends roughly $500 a month in shipping give or take.
close to 80% of OpFTH's shipping funds come from the fine B/SOTL here on CBid
The annual 4th of July C-A-T accounts for roughly 60% of the Annual funds used each year
Right now There is very little funds in the OpFTH account, which means smitty self funds shipping cost until more funds come in.
As long as there are Soldiers fighting abroad OpFTH will continue to send packages
There are currently about 20 on our shipping list

If you know of someone serving over there, please get me their APO and expected ship home month (as best as OPSEC rules allow) and I will get them added to the shipping list

And as always I extend my, Bill and the rest of the OpFTH family's MANY THANKS to ALL that continue to donate and allow us to keep sending as many packages as possible to those Soldiers that are risking their lives for our better good.

and finally here are some links to help

on facebook
https://www.facebook.com/opfth?fref=ts

on Crowdrise
https://www.crowdrise.com/OperationFromtheHeart

Cafe Press (link through and buy OpFTH themed goods)
http://www.opfth.com/

Good Search (search engine that donates for every search to the charity you choose, and also has many online partners that donate for purchases)
http://www.goodsearch.com/

And as always...THANK YOU for your continued support of OpFTH

disclaimer, I, ypetryna, am not an agent of OpFTH. Todd usually throws this party but he is unable to do so but it needs to happen so I volunteer, not that I do much other than get this started and keep track of the prize donations and drawing.

Thank You

PS โ€“ any suggestions or if you find any errors with this post please let me know so I can update the thread appropriately. Thank you.

PPS - thanks for helping me successfully run this for the last couple of years. I know Schmitty appreciates all your help too

Just more info: usps cost are now $19.85 per box now. Thanks to the price increases.

Thanks ahead of time. This community is by far the best. It is where this started, and truely the heart of this endeavor.

Thanks again

This is an amazing challenge for an absolute worthy cause! Count me in! But please excuse me as this is my first year entering. There is an awful lot of information in that initial post. So what do I need to do to get a shirt (shirts are awesome), and in addition to PayPal is there azelle account. If not no worries I will make it work. Thanks and looking forward to being a part of this!

Who knew trying to host a charity tourney would be such a struggle against greedy dealers concerned about their regular tips!
I offered $100 bonus to the pricks to offset their regular income & they're still thinking about it!!!

It doesn't matter even if we have to self deal this thing is happening!

Our regular players are onboard & a social media ad blitz will soon be underway

Trying to secure Bonesaw brewery to cater beverages but either way premium beer will be free
Still deciding on food options for the break, but there will be pizza & wings at the least
The prize pool is still growing but there will be at least 5 OPfTH shirts & premium cigar prize packs to generous entrants.

Expecting a decent offering from this but if nothing else a lot of people will be exposed to this noble cause!

Planning on giving a short word about the charity prior to start so if any here have suggested talking points I'd appreciate it.

We're going to have plenty of OPfTH literature on hand & I already have more than a handful of good brothers ready to give whatever is needed to support the cause.

Final date is yet to be confirmed but it'll be the 9th, 10th or 11th as our ret. decorated S.E.A.L. GM wants time to properly promote & execute a professional event worthy of the cause.

If I keep getting push back from these prick dealers I could just run a 50/50 ticket event which will be way easier & possibly even more profitable?

1st annual OPfTH tournament is on for July 9th 7pm
Seriously premium prize packs assembled
Final structure:
$65 buy in with $60 rebuys through 6th round
1st buy in pays $5 to the dealers with all remaining split 50/50 to OPfTH & prize pool
I'll get pics of the prizes & poker room the night of the event to share with you guys.
Should be a GREAT TIME!
If anyone here is at all interested you should come!
Pre-registration is highly recommend though as this is expected to sell out.

$1,440 raised
28 items sold of50 goal

Not too shabby huh chaps. A thanks to Schmitty for the opportunity and what he does. Also nice to get more new ppl in this.

A lot of shirts were ordered in the last couple days, but no cbid handles were left. Please help if you're one here and one of those who bought.

I will give it a few days before I draw for others to let me know if they were missed. After that they will have to forever gold thier peace.

As of July 5, 2021, our limited time 2021 t-shirt fundraiser has officially closed! In total, we received donations from 26 benefactors - selling a total of 28 shirts from Custom Ink. We have raised a total of $1,449.13 in donations to go towards sending care packages to our troops overseas - a total that surpasses any fundraiser we have campaigned for in the past. For reference, our 2020 T-shirt fundraiser raised just over $800. We are BLOWN AWAY by your continued support of our cause.

All t-shirts that were ordered during this fundraiser are estimated to arrive around July 20, 2021.

As always, we want to thank the supporters that have come to us via the CBid forum - we could not do this without you

Yaro, I'm heading out of town for a few weeks vacation with wife and daughter's family...we've gone stir-crazy and tired of the same old same old walls...

will be back after August 5, and will be able to put together the SoCal Sunshine prize then. Please accept my apologies for the delay, and inform the "lucky" recipient...

I will not participate in the prize drawing.

Thanks for all who donated...and to Yaro for masterminding this again.
