Boy's gokart tire needed air. Dropped the airchuck as I was unwinding the hose and the valve body broke. Whatever, cheap harbor freight garbage and I got many years of use from it. Head back to harbor freight for another. New ones don't come with the fitting to attach to the air line, nor do they come with the valve chuck. Looking at $15 for the cheapest one with a gauge on it. Whatever, I'm there and need one so I pony up.

Start filling the tire, gauge doesn't move. Thinking maybe the 5psi tire doesn't move it so I pushed the chuck onto my 80psi truck tire. Gauge didn't move. Gonna return it.

Harbor freight has always been craptastic, but the prices have gone up and quality somehow has managed to go down, and they no longer do regular coupons. I don't really see any reason to shop there anymore. Used to go to buy tools I'd rarely use, or things that are hard to screw up - like an air chuck. They always mailed out 20% off coupons and free stuff coupons so I'd get 20% off my crappy tool and the boy would get a free flashlight or screwdriver or something. No coupons and higher prices for even chittier tools, I'm just gonna go to Menards for my Chinese crap.

HF has increased quality on some tool lines, but they're priced in the range of Milwaukee/Dewalt why wouldn't I buy red or yellow if we're talking 10-20% price difference and an established brand/support over the HF brand. In all likelihood they're probably all built by the same Chinese companies using similar or same components.

Buy once, cry once, Power Tank inflators are the best. The clip-on works very easily and does not lose much air when installed or removed. I've got model with an oil filled mechanical gauge and it is very accurate

Have been suffering from body aches so severe I could barely stand from a sitting position. Did some research and stopped taking Atorvastatin 2 days ago. All the body aches are gone. Also, went on a mostly plant and fruit based diet to lose weight and keep my cholesterol in check. Feeling much better.

Used to mail-order from northern tool all the time back in the day. I saw the store sign a while back, didn't know they were a b&m business too.

Haven't been in the store, but their catalog had everything back in the day. When I was in junior high I built a gokart entirely from parts bought from their catalog. That was when I got my first checking account too, for that sole purpose.

Lipitor/atorvastatin is not a great drug. It's first line statin therapy, but there's a reason there's others that have come along afterwards. Lots of people are intolerant. There's others out there, and other options. Talk to your doc.

Tools I use often, I do the buy once cry once. This is a two or three time a year thing that gets run over and stuff in the garage. I had a snapon inflator but the valve body broke and I went harbor freight afterwards.

I'm looking for a $10 solution. I might piece together my own kit but I'm not buying another $100 inflator. That fapoff one was a toss-in on another 4 figure order but it didnt' do anything the cheap crap doesn't do. Doesn't get used often enough to warrant a quality tool, and it gets abused as wife and kid use it more than I do and they leave it sitting on the garage floor or in the driveway. I was awfully tempted when I opened the link though.

Hope things work out Ron. I had my last dose of Atorvastatin 2 days ago. I could barely stand up and most every part of my body hurt. I could work for about a minute before I had to sit down. Today I worked in the yard today preparing for Ida for 6 1/2 hours. Never hurt, never out of breath. But, I’ve also changed my diet to about 95% fruit and vegetables.

I already do a lean protein vegetable rich diet........although I haven't been as diligent as I should be lately. My cholesterol was never high pre or post CABG so I really don't know why I am on it to begin with.

Glad you're feeling better.

It helps prevent plaques. If you have established atherosclerosis its a necessary evil. If its just your numbers are off, who cares. The whole picture needs to be considered. My doc keeps trying to put me on it. I've argued every visit I have no vascular issues, no family history, you're only writing it to the cholesterol numbers. Which mine are great. Kiss the high end of normal total but ratios are perfect, HDL high, LDL low.

Ron, in your case it's to try to extend the life of your vein grafts. They don't last long. 10 years I'd expect from good ones. The heart goes on because now instead of 3 main vessels, you've doubled or more. But the vein grafts will plaque up faster than arterial. So we typically use a mammary or radial artery graft on the LAD, which is basically the most important coronary artery. The rest, the vein grafts, need medical management.

I'm on it at 20mg per day. No noticeable effects so far (5 years), Except I eat stuff more now that has cholesterol at high levels. My doctor took me off Lisinopril (10mg) about 6 months ago because of a dry cough. I still cough some, but that's more because of cigars and I'm not telling the Doc. My blood pressure has been better than when I was taking the medication.

That's another rough one that needs to be replaced. Lisinopril potential side effects include a dry cough that doest let up. And it can persist after cessation. ACEI and ARBs can both cause it but lisinopril is the most documented. It's also the most commonly prescribed, and I'm not that deep into research to say anything about adjusted for population. Might not be what I see. Another nasty adverse effect from lisinopril is angioedema. The vast majority if not all the cases I've seen have been in brown people of assorted flavors. Doesn't seem to affect the pink folk as much. But it's bad times. The ones I get are on ventilators because their tongue and throat swell up so much they can't breathe. I've had them so bad the swelling ultimately collapses the breathing tube and we have to do an emergency tracheostomy at the bedside to ventilate the lungs.

But if you do find yourself dealing with side effects, talk to your doc. Theres alternatives.

Also, tell your doc about the cigars. They'll tell you to quit em every time you go in, but knowing about it will help. For example it could change the initial impression of a small lump on your neck from a lipoma that only needs monitoring to something that should be investigated further.

Though the eye wall passed about 8 miles east of me weathered the storm quite well. The only real damage was a 10’ section of wooden fence. It’s laying on the ground. Lots of leaves and small limbs everywhere. But, nothing that requires a chain saw.

Dan I’m going to do a bit of research, but is dry mouth associated with Lisinophril?

One thing I do miss about California, evening cooling and low humidity. Since building this house on the river opening windows is not something we ever do. If the humidity isn't that high, the pollen content of outside air is much too high to open the windows.

Was gonna change wife's cars oil today but didn't want to deal with it so I took it to an oil change shpo that does good work, not jiffylube etc.. $79 later I learned my lesson. Do that chit myself.

Truck's going in for an oil change on the 8th of September for $130. Need to do dealership oil changes on schedule to maintain warranty.

I ain't mad. Warranty worth it. Be half that to do it myself but that voids warranty and with a FCA product, I need to preserve that.

Wife's car is just about outta warranty but I've done all the oil changes till now so I'm sure that's void. Oil change place asked why I brought it in, computer said 80% oil life. But I haven't changed it since last November. She just don't drive far anymore. Maybe 3k miles since I last changed it.i doubt she drives 5k/yr. Win for me, only need to change the oil annually.

They can absolutely NOT void your warranty for work you do yourself or at another shop. That is complete and total BS. Keep your receipts.

I have my wife's MB serviced at Autohaus Frankfurt. Owner's a German car specialist (BMW, Audi, MB) and a lot less expensive than the dealer. He has all my maintenance records so if they ever tried to pull that sh*t... they would lose, because I can prove the maintenance was done.

I have the 1500. Do my own oil changes.

Lit the grill n fell asleep on the couch.

Wife woke me later. Took the meat out the fridge, then fell asleep on the couch.

Just closed all the grill vents and put the meat back in the fridge.

Relatively speaking of course.
None of us here are "normal to pretty good"

We lower the bar each week but still strive to achieve "normal to pretty good" status. Happy stars and smiliey face stickers to all.

Watched a documentary thingy on Netflix about Bob Ross, the happy painter. Fu#kin' money grubbing bitcHe$ took his name and upon his death are making millions off of his legacy.

That's the chit that makes me glad I work for myself...

The other side of that coin, though, is that it is 9PM and I am working, instead of sitting out back enjoying a fine CAO Brazilia.

Hope you get some sleep!
