4k hours no rebuild? That's damn impressive for any gas engine, especially one that lives its life at 4-6krpm

I don't think I'm gonna eat the hot half of this jerky.

The meat that was on the lower grate when I sprinkled the top grate with the pepper powder is still near inedible. I put Thai chili and cayenne in the marinade, so they had some heat to start. But then they caught a bit of the hot chit. It's close to my limit.

I had a piece off the top tray. The meat was spot on, the others are too dry. But it's beyond my limits. So hot it made my face numb like I snorted a pile of cocaine. Instant hiccups, and every mucous membrane pouring out secretions.

Yep, that is pretty much my position. Four of the people like and respect me. One would rather see me go, and two are happy I’m getting out of there but worring about who they will get next.

One VP and one Sr. Director like me. Problem is the VP’s boss is a Numbers Only, Put in any amount of hours to hit goals,…. Cee U In Toledo. If the metrics aren’t met (little care about employees or clients) she doesn’t get her six digit bonus (estimated) and the VP and Director not only don’t get raises, the get heat.

Leaving now gives them some cover for coming up short.

That describes part of the way management was at the law firm I worked at for 9 years. On top of that, I'd get conflicting orders/rules, after the fact, that made no sense.

8-Track, when this job is over, in several years, get a job you will like. It's life altering.

For bosses that assign conflicting/impossible projects, putting everything, especially roadblocks, on a whiteboard that is in full view.

Excellent LEAN thinking. On a recent internal survey, our lowest scoring area was……. Change Communications.

NOT kidding.

Not at this point. Not sure what I can or not share. Typical Corp NDA terms and conditions likely apply.

Will be practicing this layout thing for a few months, then look for something part time somewhere.

Ok, first day on the logistics, stocking, inventory thing at the circus. Still need to learn stuff on the inventory system side but wanted to see what a daily routine is for getting stuff off the trucks and out onto the floor - where the rubber meets the road.

My goal is to do this daily routine for about a month then try to improve on our current process. I'd love to have some impact on improvement, but I first need to know the current state at the grass roots (how the facility runs this part of the area now) before making recommendations for a future state - areas where we can improve and streamline $hit. I'd love to inject some principles of lean manufacturing and value stream mapping into how we do things but that may be too idealistic.

Told the guy in charge of the warehouse, just point me to where you need help... me strong like a bull. Unloaded probably a metric ton each of cat litter, big bags of dog food, cases after cases of canned goods, laundry detergent, cleaning supplies... Franking back is sore. The warehouse guy probably did it intentionally as an initiation. I'm good with that.

First thought is he's pretty well organized. He runs the back end of things pretty smooth and is easy to get along with from top to bottom. From the grunts that unload trucks, to the folks that stock shelves, to the management levels... they all seem to respect him and it seems he's got a good grasp on what needs to be done.

Side note: pallets after pallets of stuff is coming in for Christmas already. WTF?

Good Wednesday Morning! It's 66° on the way to 86° today.

Roasting coffee and cleaning the 3D printer today. The printer has been running almost 24/7 lately, printing several spools of filament. Last night it turned out a verticle AR grip and something fun/annoying a plastic version of one of those four-note train whistles.

Good morning. The maid is cleaning my bathroom first so I have to use my daughter's bathroom instead. Toilet seat was too small. Trying to get motivated to go to swim laps before it storms again today and the pool gets shut down due to lightening. I am fine once I get my ass out the door, however. Nothing else on agenda, except perhaps the grocery store.

Exercise. Walk, run, ride, swim or whatever else you can do, real slowly for a couple days to get used to it, then get good cardio and the pounds will shed off. I am down to 185 lbs. from 200lbs. in just 3.5 months without absolutely killing my self with a heavy diet. You will do it, Bro!

Get after it, rfenst.
-Dog walked.
-8.9 mile bike ride.

Starting the carbs back off a little at a time. Only half my usual hash browns pile, and only half a bagel with my two eggs and sausage.

Took the day off for no good reason.

I have taken a couple of facefulls of pepper spray in my life (mostly with my consent). This sounds similar. And the earlier comment about it coming out again when you showered brought back some unpleasant memories.

6 foot long snots. I won't go into more details.

If the jerky is as hot as you described, I bet you could sell it for big bucks...

I got pepper sprayed in MP school... then again in the sheriff's academy. Bastids wouldn't take my word for it that I had already experienced it. d'oh!

It is not pleasant. I would prefer to be tazed. That's 5-8 seconds of intense pain, then it's over. Not hours of intense pain, oh I feel better now, oh sh-t I showered, it's back! pain...

Well, I just finished the shower and shave. Only shaved my face in one direction though. A full shave seemed like to much work. So I went from an almost beard to an almost scruff.
