We’re going to need to raise taxes.

The benefits cut from the “trust fund” being depleted is now 2034 unless something is changed. The ‘Rona economy moved it up by a year.

Nope. Not according to the new report. Keep in mind at its best ‘Rona only ever got to #3 on the cause of death list. That’s a bronze medal in exchange for 20% unemployment.

Never counted on it anyway... but if the gov't goes broke(r), I won't get my military pension, either.

I used to think my generation was the one who will get screwed and have to pay for all the financial sins of the government. Now I’m like “I want my social security and I totally approve of raising taxes on Rfenst’s kids to pay for it!”

Once the taxes start growing again it will get back beyond 2034. Combined with the covid victims coming off the rolls and some not surviving to collect we may even ake it to 2040 or beyond if the congress doesn't find away to steal some of the funds.

So social security will be belly up, but welfare will be raging strong.

Thanks obama.

Maybe if government payed their back taxes and keep them up to date (no extension) for government employees. They work for us, it's the least they could do, 10 percent pay cut also won't hurt either.

Well the Republican trick of lowering taxes on business and business owners does not seem to have created the tax windfall they said. Maybe if we stopped all taxes - for 3-4 years we would have so much money that we would never have to worry about SS again! Make it rain!

Honestly - why give the churches a free pass. Or particularly the businesses owned by the churches?

If I were a socialist, I would want to abolish the ancient American principle of private property, I'd want to reduce every individual, and every private institution to the status of serf. I'd want to give the government the power to tax everybody and everything.
I think I would be just like Brewha.Scared

As long as I get my guaranteed minimum government income, Obamacare and Medicaid, why would I need SS?

Everyone of them that applied for PPP agreed that they were businesses and should have lost all tax breaks immediately.

Now you're just showing your hate against religion. If these churches and their employees were harmed by the evil government lockdown regime which was no fault of their own, you would deny them the same gracious assistance by an act of Congress that other institutions and their employees who were denied going about their normal lives and business because of the acts of wicked governments?
And like the spiteful hater that you are, you would want to tax the voluntary tithes and offerings given by their congregations? Angry
