This happened like 2 months after I spent $400 replacing the shelves and bins and such that had wear and tear. I thought I was making an investment and would have re-upped if anything reparable went wrong. So, we spent $1,700 on a new refrigerator that my wife HATES. Serves her right!
I don't know if we were lied to or the Sears sales person was misinformed but one of the first questions I asked him was where the OG brands were made and he told us they weren't made by American companies anymore. Don't remember if we were told or we inferred that they were made outside of the USA but ultimately we thought that they were made by non-American companies in other countries.
Also think that maybe, just maybe, the sales person may have been swayed by a backend sales SPIFF from the manufacturers so it would behoove him to sell one brand over another. At this point in time it's pure speculation but totally plausible.
A little Googling and now I know that refrigerators sold by the OG Whirlpools, Frigidaires, KitchenAids, etc. are foreign owned but still made in the USA.
Goodbye Korean brands!
