Ok, ok. Let’s nip this one right here (please).

Was i ready to pounce on this one as well ? … Yes.

Actually started to, then stopped.

Appreciate the humor, but let us let this one where it is and move forward.

Please.
Thank you.

Do IT!!! For the good of your family and your soon to be coming new truck. You can fly home for visits or fly them out. You will certainly earn enough $$$ to be able to do that.

That's part of what makes this so enticing. Coworker who left along with her husband to do travel contracts are doing this one, and have a 2 bedroom apartment they'd be willing to share with me for $1k/mo plus half utilities walking distance from ucsd. So I'd be with people I know, working with people I enjoyed working with before and who can help me with the stuff for contract work.

Or buy myself a Ford Transit and an air mattress and live like the locals. Gym membership for showers, just need to find a place to park every day.

But its not gonna happen. Wife says no. I'm gonna keep pushing it. I wanted to go to Chicago when they built out Mccormick place for covids last year. 5k/wk for that too but they provided a hotel room to keep you isolated. Just floor and hotel, meals included. They never actually used it, but paid the 3 people I know who took the contracts.

Did find a 3mo contract on the east side of Indiana, about a 3 hr drive for $3500/wk. 3 days/wk. I'd just need a truck bed cap, sleep in my truck and come home once a week to shower n do laundry. Be a rough winter but I can deal with it for that kinda money. I asked for their recruiter to call me, need to get more info about insurance n stuff.

Making another run at beef jerky. Learned from my mistakes, this one should turn out better but I think I sliced it a bit too thick.

Pulled the dehydrator plates, took off the thickest pieces and sliced them down.

Tried a piece that was ready to go. Perfect.

Got just 4 pieces out so far. Probably another hour or two for the rest.

Jerky turned out great. Put it in a big zip lock bag with the XXX hot stuff I made last round and shook it around. Took the cold/old pieces out and bagged up today's batch. Perfectly spicy, chewy, not overly dry. Wife says its too hot. I think it's spot on.

Have you ever asked your wife this simple question?….. What is it that you want?

Follow up- What is it that makes you happy?

There is a friend of mine at the club who is only happy when he is miserable. I’m trying to figure this problem out.

Is she only happy when you are miserable? Do you both get the same amount of joy in your daily misery?

Pure curiosity is the motivation in asking.

I am stating to feel like I live inside the movie "Groundhog Day"...

Every day is basically the same. Over, and over, and over... Lather, rinse, repeat.

Someone please lie to me and tell me it gets better.

Life is like Da Wimmins.

They are all crazy. You just have to find the brand of crazy that works best for you.

At some point, you just need something different. Danm and I are in the forefront of that (at least publicly) here.

With a ton of support from my wife, I’m getting out of my miserable situation in October.

Can’t imagine going through life with a partner who heaps misery on you, and seems to enjoy doing it.

Unless of course that is your mutual kink. If that is the case…… Rock on with yo bad sef!

This post instantly made me think of my cousin, who I believe is using passive-aggression and contributing to the ruin of his and his family's lives- by dragging out a totally certain divorce for over five years now.

Those are some pretty good damn questions to ask an unhappy person...

Gentlemen.
It's 4am here and I am up after a restless night. Maybe a little progress yesterday from the West Nile virus. I was able to lace up the shoes and do a one mile walk at moderate pace. It's not the 4-5 fast miles I have been doing every day but I'm calling it progress. Still very weak and jittery but it was nice to be moving again in the cool morning air. Just waiting for a little light in the eastern sky to try it again.

Looks like there have been around 60 or so cases of WNV recently in my area and 4 have died. Nothing is available as treatment for humans but there is a vax for horses.

One reason I need to get out early is I must hide from the sun. About a month ago my skin specialist talked me into doing a skin resurfacing regime on my face due to sun damage. It requires applying a cream twice daily for two weeks and waiting for it to chemically burn the top layers. This unfortunately happened to coincide with the start of the WNV and my face was on fire at the same time I was in the ER and since being released. It is now beginning to peal off and I look as bad as I feel. Picture someone whose top 2/3 of their face was rolled in corn flakes. If I don't make it out of this I'm gonna be a purty corpse so I got that going for me.

Enjoy your Thursday guys.

Good to hear/see you.

You are going to have to get better. You can’t die ugly. Too man of us here already have that covered.

More skeeters in the dark, though. Careful.

Need to start walking I guess. Back has been messed up, stopping the bike rides.
