Talked with Bloodsport a week or two ago. Greatly enjoyed trhe chat.

Although we were (and are) very different people, some of the best nights were with you, Bloody, Andytv, erkwgs, and Ruggerunner and his then wife.

Would wake up the next day with a hell of a hangover and face pain from all of the laughter.

Excellent times.

CA has great weather. Would you rather live here?

Because that's about the only thing good, right now.

No thanks... I’d rather stay in Wyoming, but after 3 and a half months, my wife wants me to come home. Guess she’s tired of mowing the grass. Frying pan

Happy Monday gents. It's been a week since I left the hospital and the progress report is ....... zip

Still pretty much flat on my back for 20 hours a day, no appetite, no change in the tremors, etc. Spunky is nursing me hand and foot but she is frustrated also. I just read another guy passed from the West Nile in my area so being on this side of the dirt is maybe progress. Here is hoping for a better week.

DED, it's gonna be a long hard ride.

Some of those things may be permanent. I'd expect the fatigue to start fading in a few weeks considering you were active to start. But joint pains, stiffness, and even the tremors may not. Especially if you got the diagnoses of viral meningitis from it.

Just keep doing what you can. Try to be up as much as you can tolerate, even if it's a chair vs the bed.

If you have a headache or neck stiffness that persists, get your ass back to the hospital. I've had a few patients who required an EVD and ultimately a VP shunt from it. I dont see it often, and like most things I only see the worst cases.

By mid-late October I'd hope you're back on your feet putting some miles under em. It's gonna be a while.

Welcome back to Monday fellas.

I been busy, forgot to post.

Wife left to visit a friend who moved closer, 3 hours away in Wisconsin. So I started making foods she complains about. Bought a salmon, stripped it, and skinned the filets. Fried the skins in strips for dog treats, and turning the meat into jerky.

I don't remember who it was here or botlorg that sent me a bag of salmon jerky a few years back but I liked it. Figured I'd give it a shot. Made a sweet n spicy marinade and let them sit in there for 5 hours.

Also broke down a couple pork tenderloins and cut em into strips for pork jerky. They gotta brine a while before they go in the dehydrator.

Just got back from swimming. Over the past four months since I have started working out, I have increased my workouts from 500yds to 750 yds. to a present 1,000yds. My goal is to begin bumping it up to 1,500 on Friday (October 1) and take it from there for the month- before increasing distances some more.

Today I did 1,100yds. with hand paddles, fins and a kickboard, and a pull buoy The "toys" greatly increase the intensity of the workout I do so if I just leave them out of the big increase on Friday(which I won't), my first 1,500yd. swim will be fine. I hope. None of my past increases have been 50% longer, but it is time to make a big breakthrough. That should be 55-60 minutes of intense workout.

Anyhow, when I got out of the pool at noon, the first thing I noticed that I was cold. That virtually NEVER happens this time of year. My phone and it said it was only 81F going to only 86F today, in 4-6 weeks. with LOW humidity with a breeze!!! An early preview of fall to come

Florida “Low” is probably 60%. All relative to what they normally get, right? Think

Reminds me of an opposite situation a couple years ago in Vegas. While on vacation in October, because of a few days of cloud cover and some intermittent rains, the weather people kept on warning people to stay hydrated and not be fooled by the high humidity levels. I checked my weather app and the humidity was at 30-something percent. Hadda laugh since that percentage would be considered disturbingly low in Hawaii.

Unless we're well below zero, rh here would never see 30. 60 is very dry, the grass turns brown and the yard is dusty when I mow.

When the wife and I went to San Diego a few years ago that was the first time I ever experienced a low humidity climate. I loved it. The weird thing was I needed a sweatshirt in the 70s. Shade was cold, sun hot. Here I feel hotter in the shade cause the sweat don't evaporate. There the sweat never even had a chance to bead up. It just cooled you down.

I live in a swamp, in a very wet region. You get to about the same "low humidity" as I do. Which isn't very. But my hot wet months are June through September. The other 8 are iced over and frozen.

It does feel low.

But after a vacation in a drier climate, the driest we get is about their wettest.

Not having to chew the air before breathing is nice.

Shared a more local contract job with the wife. I'd be gone about 5 days a week, working 3. Home for a few to do laundry n stuff, then back off again. 4 hours away, I'd live in my truck. But $4k/wk for 36 hours. 5500 for a 48hr contract.

She hasn't responded.

She's up in Wisconsin with some friends.

Buy a camper, rent a site for $500/mo tops and make some money. $2k/mo living stipend (calculated into the 4k/wk). I live my whole family on not much more, and could get by on less, especially if I'm not around doing dumb chit.

Is the job in Wisconsin?

Speaking of Contracts, where in Wisconsin is your wife? I have tomorrow off if Frank and Drafter want to subcontract their work.

"About as far as we are from Chicago, from Milwaukee" is all I know. Could be north, south, probably not east (she's scared of boats), or west.

Job is southern indiana/Kentucky area. Tons of campgrounds in the area. Most are $25-35/weekday and a little more for weekends but monthly rates around $30-40/day for electric, water, and sewer. Electric goes up a bit for the winter but water is shut off November to April so it's about the same.

I can't remember if I just took my muscle relaxant once or twice this morning. If I get my ass to the pool right now, I will be home well before it/they kick-in. Otherwise, I could just lay around a few hours to see if I fall asleep...

Edit: I am going to sleep a while and decide what to do later. Safer than being on the road.

Thanks danm. Trying to spend a little more time upright and may even talk myself into another short walk today. The headache that persisted for three weeks is what finally drove me to go to the ER. Sure glad it has not returned.
