Eliminating the debt ceiling and spying on your financial affairs isn't enough for Comrade Yellen, she wants global socialist minimum corporate tax rate to pass

US treasury secretary Yellen: global minimum corporate tax will pass

Minimum global corporate rate of 15% agreed by 136 countries as Yellen also says US will raise debt ceiling on 3 December

The US treasury secretary, Janet Yellen, said on Sunday she was confident Congress would approve legislation to implement the global corporate minimum tax agreed by 136 countries.

Countries can raise tax on sales made within their borders by multinational companies such as Amazon, Apple, Facebook and Google

Yellen told ABC’s This Week actions to bring the US into compliance with the global minimum tax would likely be included in the so-called reconciliation budget bill containing Joe Biden’s proposed spending initiatives.

Asked if she was confident the measure would get through, Yellen said: “Yes.”

Stated support of the global minimum tax by U.S. is to keep U.S. corporations from leaving the U.S. with production and headquarters and going to other countries which are low, corporate, tax-havens. Could work since it takes away the incentive to leave.

Yeah, but we need some disincentives to compete equally world-wide. LOL...

I think we have authoritarians here that love gubment more than the free market. They think the primary function of gubment is to conceive more ways to fleece the private sector, extract tribute, and to disincentivize competition. They hate corporations shopping around for the best deal just like they hate us shopping around for the best deal. They like their government-run monopolies and cartels as a means to that end.
And it's just more of the same "tax the rich" bumper-sticker economics that promises to pay for D.C.'s spending spree, but never will.
