Thursday through Sunday?

I would suggest more middle of the week, say Tuesday to Friday, to skirt the crowds as well as higher weekend flight and room rates. Also give everyone a day or two to recover before they return to work (…only for those still forced to do the 9 to 5 gig…).

Thinking of moving to Las Vegas? jester

Seriously, are you going to do any trips to scout your new location? If so, we might consider combining one with a herf.

So how does Tuesday 11/15/2022 - Thursday 11/18/2022 work for everyone?

The week before is the midterm elections.

It’s the new math. Using the current poll results: No preference 46% + Nov-Dec 7% = 53% so majority rules.

So, it would be perfect…

What's gay about it? My son and I have gone to HHN every year for the past 15 yrs. We started when he was 13 and haven't missed a year since. We both enjoy it and its a really good father-son weekend away from eveything. My guess is we've probably got a couple of years left before he ends up married. Then in a dozen yrs he can re-start the tradition with his son.

Mike... ya gotta grow some thick skin or put on a coat around here. The zingers are fast and furious. Take it all with a grain of salt.

Half the time people here are yankin' chains or pushin' buttons. Met a whole bunch of 'em in person. Good peeps.

I certainly don't take any of it personally and can dish it out as easily as I can take it. Was just trying to figure out if he thought me spending time with my son was gay or if it was Universal Studios that seemed to be have the gayness problem. Either way - its not like I'm gonna stop going just because one of the guys on here may disapprove! lol

Full disclosure .... when my son was living in Half Moon Bay three years ago - because of his work schedule we ended up going to Horror Nites in Hollywood instead of Orlando. I've gotta tell ya - it SUCKED!!!! It was filled with locals (not surprising) and they were all 'too cool' to be scared or have any fun at all. Just a bunch of sticks in the mud. Never again!!!! lol Depending on your work situation - I might consider looking on the gulf coast rather than the east cost. Just me - but I've always liked Naples, Sarasota, Cape Coral, and Sanibel.

Work situation is retired.

Jax has friends and since I am retired Navy... it also has Tricare, VA, NFCU, Exchange, Commissary, and a Filipino community so my wife feels a little better about the move.

Buddy in Jax actually works as a FF/Paramedic in Sarasota. His parents live there and my HS buddy is in Bradenton, so that wouldn't be a bad second choice... but we'll see. This is all fluid right now.

First off - thank you for your service. As for the move - given your description it makes total sense to me. I'd probably do the same in your situation. Funny thing - my cousin actually went to studied marine biology at JU. She did NROTC before joining the navy. She's got nothing but great things to say about her time there.

Lining up flights and hotel.

With rental prices still in the $100 / day range, debating whether or not to get a car. Maybe just Uber, taxi or shuttle instead.

So it’s official. October 11,12 & 13.

What’s the hotel of choice? Since I don’t have an active player’s card It doesn’t matter where I stay. Maybe I can line up one of those freebies by scheduling a time share pitch meeting.

I'm going to say maybe a 10-15% chance for me. Depends on work and many other things.

If ,and that is a big IF, I can make I was looking at the Golden Gate(rooms and flights bookable from the mainland)........perfect for 2-3 days, regular rooms a bit small for a week,we've stayed there before,in the Sammy Davis Jr suite...........**** ing incredible room and I love the location.Main Street for breakfast,Chicago Brewing Company for late lunch/early dinner.......Chicago Deep Dish and a pint of Old Town Brown followed by lies, whiskey and cigars..........not necessarily in that order.Late evening more whiskey, lies and cigars on the patio at the Atomic Lounge til the wee hours of the morning.Stumble back to room...........end of day one.

Day 2...........lather,rinse and repeat

Unlikely here, but maybe.
Need to save up for a potential springtime trip to someplace warmer than Feb/March in Wisconsin.

Just drew a pic on the chalk board.
Kind of reminds me of my artistic ability in 5th grade.

A semi circle line on a map of the USA ending in an arrow pointing at something that looks like which pennis.
