We can remodel it the way my wife prefers... or.... enjoy 20, 5 day vacations somewhere warm in winter.

That said, the majority of the nut is coming out of her pocket, so I'll go along for whatever finantioal ride she suggests (I used a different marriage adviser than Danm used).

I’m remodeling two bathrooms. 26 week lead time on cabinets. Just sitting and waiting now. Prolly start work mid-March.

Am luckier? than that. The guy works with a mom and pop cabinet builder. He is about 4 weeks out from order.
Then a three to 4 week period of time for the build.
And to that the tax. title, paint protection, undercoating, graft, corruption and covid taxes, it should come in under $100,000.

Thanks and thanks for a good Friday laugh.

I'm hoping the red lump reaction is juat proof the previous shots were effective. I've had many flu shots, shingles, pneumonia and tetnus shots but never this much of a reaction.

Try this: Ask her if the current shelves don't hold the dishes just fine. Tell her that you can't imagine how the meals she cooks could possibly be any better even with a new kitchen.

It didn't work for me either.

Never cared for their music but during my retail record store days, they sure sold a lot of records!

I must say though, until I saw an interview, never knew they had such heavy accents. Pretty amazing that they could mimic the English words so flawlessly.

You couldn't pay me enough to touch your erection boosters. See a Dr, they could probably prescribe your boosters. If not, there's a guy I know that is a is related to a bus driver in town He's a cousin's friend's sister of, who is in the chess club and a regular at the Bingo hall on Thurs nights. He usually can be found hanging around the alley behind CVS. The password is "knuckle party" If it lasts more than 4 hours, its all on you.

Unrelated topic.. my local Wally World didn't sell out on the 55" TV's yet. I expected that they would sell out on the first day be we ended up getting about 60 of them. I buckled and bought one. With employee discount and cash back using the Walmart credit card it comes to about $200. The price was too good to pass up. It won't fit in my bedroom, it will take up too much wall space and I'd have to relocate my Packers shrine.

It'll will end up in the wall in the living room to swap out the 43" one that I bought last year from Wally World holiday sale. We have huge wall space in the living room so it will fill in just fine. Could probably fit in a 70" plus on that wall but that's just gluttony.

I'll couch as a Christmas present for house and all to use. I'll probably have to install it this Sunday for the football games.

Caution though, saying "knuckle party" to the wrong person could end you up in a basement of a dilapidated mill factory where you get the $hit kicked out of you.

Similar thoughts unsaid. Yours was nicer.
Mine was Will you spend more time in the kitchen making more and better food?

Even I have enough sense to not say that.

Good Saturday Morning! It was a chilly 45° this morning on the way to just 60° today.

Moderna booster shot day 5, the lump is now smaller, not so tender and the red circle is slightly smaller.

We've already redone our kitchen, at this point about 8yrs or so ago. A year or two back, as we're progressing through the rest of the house, Mrs. Beach starts talking about what she wants to do with the kitchen.
My natural response, both calm and measured, is along the lines of "What in the everloving hell are you talking about?!?!?!? We did that one already!"
Then she's goes "Well you didn't think that was going to last forever did you?"
Now me, fearing what jail would do to a face as purty as mine says "I'm not emotionally capable of having this conversation right now." And I proceeded to drink and smoke the afternoon away.

So there was a happy ending to the story at least

It didn't work for me either.

Tell her how much that chunk of change could be worth 5-10 years from now if properly managed... Nah, that won't work either.

Did the kitchen 12 years ago. Hired our designer $75/hour to help us pick the tile, floor, cabinets and countertops directly from his wholesalers' showrooms. We bought material/items directly- using his wholesale discount! For cabinets, we used custom made, highly decorated (crown, dentil and other moldings). It is a traditional/classic style in a way that will never go out of style. The professional help made all the difference in the world. Saved a ton of money and got high quality. And, it added tens of thousand in value to our house.

Bought my house new. In 21 years I replaced the white tile kitchen countertops and porcelain sink with granite and stainless.

Any other remodels will be the next owner's problem. fog

Prolly spent $55K in remodeling both baths, kitchen and all new SS appliances in the last two years. The price of homes in my area have gone up so fast it was well worth it and most of that expense can be recovered if and when we decide to sell.

Beautiful 60 this morning. Done with the 5 miler, pool maintenance, vacuumed and had a cigar on the patio. The rest of the day is football and cigars/beer. And maybe a nap.

My house was a full gut job minus bathroom and the kitchen. Ran outta money fast. The part where I had to lift the house up and replace the foundation and basement wall smashed the budget.

Added a second bathroom, just finished remodeling the original bathroom.

New siding, roof, windows, doors, garage doors, door openers, add forced air heating and a/c, septic, all the plumbing and electric, insulation, drywall, trim, flooring, driveway, regraded the yard, deck, garage floor concrete, and on and on.

All that's left is the kitchen and well. Every other thing has been redone.

Probably would be in the same spot had I torn it down and built new. But I couldn't afford that so I just did what I could as time went on.

Just had "The Lunch" to listen to what she wants, hope it isn't too painful and feign support even if I want run away.

The desire is for new dishwasher, stove, quartz (not granite or platinum) counter tops, the fancier sink and fixtures etc.

Her feeling is she can get everything she wants as long as she............... goes with refacing- not buying new cupboards. Yes!

Mr. Contractor Dude say cabinets would be the biggest part of the nut. The decision to reface over new should save us about $10,000.

(spit in hand). Deal, shake!

One day, dunno when, but you’re gonna look back and wonder how the flock time flew by so quickly. By then the boy will be in high school and barely talking to you or your wife. So, enjoy it while you can!

Attaboy 8trizzle... negotiations.

There's 2 of you. How many dishes do you use that you need the dishwasher? We've had the same one since we got the house. I think it's been turned on 3 or 4 times to make sure it still works.

I clean what I use as I go along and so does she. Also use paper plates a lot, unless we have company.

I never remember liking my parents growing up. Spent most of my free time grounded and locked in my room them telling me I needed to read my Bible more to get rid of the demons in my head. Once I was old enough to tell them to F off then I spent my free time roaming on my bicycle, 20 miles a day was nothing. Buddy and I did one ride took 2 days we rode from 5 miles south of Gary, IN to about Evanston IL just north of Chicago. No reason really, just wanted to ride as far as we could, find a park to sleep in, and ride home. We were 12... but back to Christmas there were years I was the only child with no gifts, cause I was bad. Wanna know how to fvck up someone's head for life? Lock em in a room, then take em out for Christmas to watch their 4 sisters open presents while everyone comments how you were naughty so you don't get chit.

I'm doing what I can to give him a better childhood. I do spoil the chit outta him, and that's gonna be an issue at some point. But I don't want him going through my upbringing.

I hate the holidays cause you're supposed to pretend that you like your relatives n stuff. I don't. My parents and I have reconciled our differences and they respect my space now. But my siblings do not. I dread spending time together. That's pretty much the cliffs notes on why I'm incapable of being close to another person and why I bitch about my wife so much.

I pulled a dishwasher off the curb on garbage day 5-6 years ago. Best junk I've ever picked.

Wife won't wash dishes, it's too gross.

Saved me a lot of work.

My wife has always had a dishwasher. But can’t find them in the stores. The Conan brand is pretty exclusive.
