Post #350 - reminds me of the GM engine.

When I went to eat at the King’s Hawaiian Bakery restaurant in Torrance(?) in ‘93, thought the use of “Hawaiian” was okay since it helped differentiate them other establishments. However, once they closed down their operations in Hawaii and moved everything to the Mainland, felt it was disingenuous. Then again, it was an established name so changing it would, probably, have been bad for their business.

Maybe a disclaimer.

NOT made with or by actual Hawaiians.

Being made with or without Hawaiians would be rather Donner-ish. Gonz

Bonus ingredients aside, think they’re still a family owned and operated business with roots in Hawaii (…specifically Hilo on the Big Island…).

Hey guys.

Woke up after noon, swam and sat my @ss down in front of the TV to watch the Buccs win again.

Getting hungry. Wife made white vegetable barley soup yesterday!

Dropped a 50 an hour ago and I am just waiting for it to kick in.

Hope you are all having a nice Sunday...

we're gonna have a week of sunny days in the mid to high 80's...wife says she expects a few days when the temps will hit 90+

hope it is not a dry heat...lips and hands are chapped enough...fall didn't stay very long, and winter is being shoved aside...

Wife bought me a leather Lazy-Boy swiveling recliner for my b'day present yesterday and I get to pick it up tomorrow morning (instead of paying $125 for delivery)!

Went solely to the LB store and didn't shop around anywhere else. Wife told me not to look at prices because she was paying cash she had set-aside from Peleton she thought I would want. Salesperson had me sit in 15 different chairs until I settled on one for certain. Wife liked the color. DONE! In 30 minutes.

Apparently, it comes in two boxed pieces. They said they'd load it directly into my wife's Pilot suv for me. Then, Noah will unload it and bring the boxes in the house, and will probably insist on setting it up for me. fog

It's not instant gratifications, but it's going to be damn close!Applause

It can be put put together quickly and as designed, with someone else doing it for you, great.

Hope you setting it up doesn’t void the warranty on parts.

Much done today.
Breakfast, dogwalk, burned sticks, raked some leaves.
Chef salad and now some soccer.
Light snow shoveling of driveway before wife gets home.

Feeling as if I should at least start poking around for a part time gig after the first of the year.
Heard of a small company in town who may be looking for a part time delivery driver. Hmmm.

Yeah... maybe after you've had a couple months of layabout you'll need to get back to it like I did.

And discover you really did not miss working.

Gym. Shower. Dog park. Breakfast... and maybe another walk for a beer or sumpin'.

Got a box of Warped 1988's today from a cigar shpo in AZ. They threw in 3 free riders. Very nice of them. CBid doesn't do that. Bastids.

Retired is kind of nice, I have full days without stress. Plus juniors 3 AM feeding would be a biotch if I was not retired.

Maybe I could do your gig two days a week?

Been working since I was eight. The health and sleep are all back to where it should be. Only stress is not seeing deposits coming into the checking account.

Wife is wary of me going back to work. Fin Planner says it isn’t necessary. (Shrug).

Thanks, guys, but it isn't my birthday yet. Got another couple weeks or so to enjoy being 59. Just got the chair earlier than we thought we could.

Made chili today following the recipe MACS put up a few weeks ago. Made it 1/2 size to try it out and left out the cumin but added some diced jalapeños. I'm liking it.

Well, it's going to have to go down some other way... I got the chair into the family room and it looked like $hit with our other furniture styles and colors. Wife dutifully offered to get new throw-pillows, but that won't make a difference so I declined.

When we were heading out shopping, I tried to take a throw pillow from the couch with us so we could make sure we bought something that at least matched color-wise. Of course, that got negged. So, I am taking it back tomorrow and starting all over again.

I knew that the one-and-done purchase was too good to be true.

Good Tuesday Morning! It's a cold and clear °34 on the way to °66, I had to break out the long pants and shoes in place of shorts and flip-flops for my trip to the range today.

Robert I feel your pain, I can see colors fine, but cannot name them beyond the primary colors. All color choices must be reviewed by my wife, she paints in oils and mixes her own colors from a few basic shades. The only thing I do know about choosing colors is take the color chart to the location and check how it appears in the light there, not the showroom lighting.

God, I miss him.
But, his real-life advice by PM would have been to recommend we hire a designer. NOT!
