I'd have to agree with you there.
Every once and a while they can cast a vote to tip a stalemate in the Senate but other than that, they are just a figurehead potentially greasing the skids for a run for the POTUS while collecting grift along the way.
My favorite VP in my lifetime was Dan Quayle. He was a great source of dope slap quotes.
"I was recently on a tour of Latin America, and the only regret I have was that I didn't study Latin harder in school so I could converse with those people."

(Actually, without knowing that they came from Quayle, they kinda sound like something that Biden would say).
