That is awful. Know a guy in his mid seventies how has had prostate cancer for several years. He has a slow growing version. Doc told him he'll die of something else first.

Reassuring? Don't know.

Obviously happy you are still around. The friend of mine had an experimental thing done on him. He said he had his prostate "fried". Left that conversation right there.

The Earth was here before the moon.
Prior to the moon, a day was approximately 6 hours long.
Once the moon appeared, it slowed the spin to 24 hours a day.

If you have one of the newer cars with push button start, according to Click&Clack, thieves can hack your key fob to a device and use it to open and start your car.

True story... but they sell these key fob RFID blockers to prevent that.

The earth gains about 40K metric tons of weight each year from space dust and meteorites falling.

And stuff.

Not recently acquired random worthless info but just something to add to the thread.

One of the longest location names resides in southern MA near the RI border. For simplicity it's known as Webster Lake (in Webster MA)

The historical name of the lake is Lake Chargoggagoggmanchauggagoggchaubunagungamaugg.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bP8W7Lf8kPA

Rough English translation is ‘English knifemen and Nipmuck Indians at the boundary or neutral fishing place’.

Local modern translation evolved into "You fish on your side, I'll fish on my side, and no one shall fish in the middle"

Worked with a guy way back in the late 1990's. He lived in the area and had a nice bass boat and I'd go fishing with him. He could rip off the name like nobody's business. I could never master it.

no one in these parts needs to master more than the first 4 syllables for everyone else to know what he means.

For the first time ever the Super Bowl flyover will be performed by an all-female team in F-35C Lightnings.

Should go great just as long as they don't have to parallel park afterwords. BigGrin

Jesse Owens, originally known as J.C., was the youngest of ten children (three girls and seven boys), When his new teacher asked his name to enter in her roll book, he said "J.C.", but because of his strong Southern accent, she thought he said "Jesse". The name stuck, and he was known as Jesse Owens for the rest of his life.

Thought of you and OSU when I learned the track coach gave him a No Call No Show job, paying him $60 per month. Yep. Sounds like Ohio State Shame on you

Another oddity. Hitler actually met with Owens away from nearly everyone and congratulated him on his performance.
FDR never called him or sent a telegram. J.C. in 1936 campaigned for Alf Landon and considered himself a Republican.

I know someone who made it with Vodka for the alcohol content. I was told it tastes about the same as commercial product.

Exactly, many years ago my wife made some with Vodka, a Vanilla bean and instant coffee.

Info combined from the Jesse Owens wiki page and the move Race from 2016.

T. Graz has a potential point. Tough to trust any media source.

Wikipedia and Snopes are both left leaning, so they have to be telling the truth.

Like "Safe and effective" yet everyone who has taken the shot still got, and passed on, covid? Like that? And healthy, young people dying of heart issues? Like that?

Doesn't sound right, doesn't look right...

TGraz,
Watch the Jesse Owens movie, read the Wiki on him, decide for yourself. Does matter to me what you believe or not. Pass the beer nuts.

I voted the same way... and here it actually mattered. You gotta ask yourself why people in blue states flee to red states. Think
