Convinced that negative covid test was premature. Last night was miserable. Sweats so bad the linens are in the wash right now. Body aches, chills... and a cough that produced exactly nothing.

Still... ain't dead. No issues breathing. Taste and smell still intact. I think I'm just about over it.

The COVID test can't test for tumors. I think you have a tumor. That or it's the early stages of turning into a newt.

MACS, if you do have Omicron, from what I have read, the test probably will not catch it untill the 3rd or 4th day of symptoms.

Get a positive test today to show and then go get monoclonal antibodies. If you have the D-variant, you will be feeling fine tommorow morning!

I think Robert has a good idea. I would want to know if I have natural antibodies and T cells.

Crap, one of the kid's classroom just all got sent home for quarantine, one of her teacher tested positive (vaxxed and masked). 7 days of home-daycare bliss.

The really funny part is, her older sister doesn't have to stay home or quarantine per the pre-school rules. Yeah, they sleep in the same bedroom. Iffin one has it, the other does too.

Is there an yway to search within just one thread on this message board? I know I canfind within a page, but of the thread is multi-page, is there any secret search feature that lets me search just the thread I am currently in, but every page of it?

I’m asking to gain knowledge. Just like when you opined your concerns around “little l Libertarians”. Thought it would be odd for you to be trolling, so I asked.

Danm has more firsthand experience with Covid than anybody here. That is why I asked.

This is now twice in two weeks, the same two weeks since you also posted something about a New Years Resolution here where we learn and have more fun as a group. To me, it seems you are falling short of your initial altruistic goal.

Er, no?

To stray from the path is of utmost simplicity. To find your way once again, of utmost importance.

Er, no?

fair question and I went back to remind myself why I even posted it.

So, I was replying at Danm trying to make light of those who would have us believe that none of what he experiences is more than liberal bullchit...definitely did not have you in mind, and I already responded to Shawn that I don't consider him in that camp either.

Tried, and evidently failed, to use sarcastic humor by preempting the expected deluge of name calling (commie etc) that is part of what my Resolution was addressing...not our daily garden variety dog piling stuff we've done for years but the new breed of deep animosity that has taken away much of the enjoyment of cbid forums.

I can see why your take away from it was what it is, and I can do better.

edit: danm is my number one source on this divisive issue and I am thankful for him and respect him enormously.
I believe he once said he is reluctant to tell us much in detail due to the vehement opposition that exists here...and that's a shame.

Swam tonight. Going to the beach mid tomorrow morning to see my buddy Jeff. We'll probably have lunch, play bocce ball and sit in our lounge chairs near the water, hopefully all while smoking cigars. But, he only smokes cigars when he is with me and doesn't always want one. I still have some Montecristo Edicion Limitada 2008 that I have not smoked from in about 3-4 years that it is time for me to re-test- and that is what I gave him the last time we herfed. IIRC, he loved it. So, maybe I'll be in luck...

Appreciate the response, Frank.
I look at Danm to have the best, real, boots on the ground knowledge and am grateful for what he shares. Think many of us do. All it would take is for a couple/few people to do what you fear and the informational golden medical goose of info will stop altogether.

What he provides is measured, pragmatic information. It’s what he sees. What makes him less likely to get called Commie is if he has a Covid agenda, he doesn’t fly that flag here. He doesn’t create the news, he simply reports it. The media should learn from him.

Add to that, his Covid shares are somewhat rare shares. He’s a respected nurse and botl. His prognosis here is good.

Don’t lose sight of your goal. I too am working toward it. No doubt I will stumble along the rocky path.

he has been a trusted source of inside info on the reality of the COVID-19 pandemic, just as any front line medical practitioner would be...I am fortunate to have several in my family: an ER doctor at the VA hospital in Long Beach, a head of Radiology at Loma Linda Medical Center, a Director of Nursing at Keck-USC Medical Center, an RN at St. Mary's Medical Center in Long Beach... it gets depressing when they let off steam during the few occasions we can safely see each other...

my nephew, the ER doc has a 1 1/2 year old toddler...and my niece, married to the Radiology doc has a 6 month old baby boy...these are occasions when our families would be gathering and basking in the glow that only babies and growing families can create, and this damn pandemic has put a stop to it...we are all under tremendous pressure to keep their families safe, so we cant see them often, and only outside and masked up...

when I see those folks here making light of it all...my reaction is they don't know what they don't know...and they haven't had a friend or family member get it...I wish them continued good fortune, but hope their willful decision to be misinformed doesn't cause them, a loved one or anybody else any harm...

The only thing I would say in non-agreement. Misinformation is when your lived experience differed from what others are feeding you. Goes along with many other things. The common disclaimer here has always been Your Mileage May Vary.

If person A has lost friends and family specifically to the disease, and Person B knows nobody who has gotten very sick or died, it would be disingenuous to try to argue the other persons point.

It’s a weird disease at a weird time in our country. Hope we can get through it without tearing each other apart as we are doing with the fabric of the country.
