This.

Policy decisions lead to a decrease in supply and therefore an increase price. Then when people scale back on demand as a result of higher prices, then prices fall (Econ 101).

So to credit the Biden administration of the gas prices falling is pretty much stupid - send prices high by 200% then people scale back and prices drop by 50%. This is your victory? If I kick you in the balls 200 times and then back off to only kicking you in the balls 150 times I guess I should be praised.

I would like to pin this on Brandon but it would be unfair... the guy is a drooling idiot. A puppet. Weak with very little cognitive ability. A dementia patient is the figurehead of the the free world.

Let's face the facts, if he was your dad or grandfather you would have him on the waiting list for assisted living.

they are coming down...Brandon's got nuttin to do wid it...

cons used argue that the POTUS has nothing to do with gas prices fluctuating wildly and rising higher and higher when GWB was in charge...just made the case that the markets had everything to do with the price of gas, not POTUS...

but sometimes they do, when their decisions impact the drilling, production and movement of petro, impacting the supply side of the market

Brandon was correct to point out that Putin's decision to invade Ukraine messed up the supply and distribution of oil...

Karine Jean Pierre is more qualified and better prepared than eye candy Kayleigh McEnany, who held (to her credit, since her predecessors abandoned them altogether) infrequent and short briefings, offering basic commentary of administration activities and dodging most questions

Jesus, Mary and Joseph...

Where to begin?

Policies... Joe shut down keystone. President Biden said, "I want to buy that type of crude from Russia, not from Canada." What he released from the strategic reserves to try to bring the prices down is exactly what we'd be getting daily from Canada... but nah... lets canx that.

Canceled federal leases... 24% of our oil came from that. Drop in production of that magnitude? Guess what happens? But, ohhhhh it's Putin's fault. GTFO.

Jean-Pierre is more qualified? Please... tell me what her qualifications are. She's an absolute moron. Peter Doocey baffles her with simple questions every single day. She's a liar... and she repeats herself to make time to formulate more lies in her tiny little brain. She single-handedly provides more ammunition for "Meme the Left" than any other lefty.

Biden has approved more drilling than Trump...

and the US isn't the only player...we're a small player in the over-all world Oil and Gas market, producing about 10% of the world market, where the price per barrel , and thus gas prices, are set...

so in that respect, Russia being a large supplier...

from McEnany's wiki pages:

"While in law school, McEnany appeared on CNN as a paid commentator. She supported Donald Trump in the 2016 presidential election.[10][11][12] However, in early 2015, before becoming a Trump supporter, McEnany was highly critical of him, declaring on CNN and Fox Business that "Donald Trump has shown himself to be a showman" and it was "unfortunate" and "inauthentic" to call him a Republican. McEnany called his comments about Mexican immigrants "racist".[13] According to Michael Marcantonio, a fellow summer associate at a law firm, she began supporting Trump after accepting Marcantonio's advice, which he gave to her over cocktails. In an interview with the New York Times, Marcantonio recalled telling McEnany, "Donald Trump is going to be your nominee," and that if "a smart, young, blond Harvard graduate" wanted "to get on television and have a career as a political pundit, you would be wise to be an early backer."[14]

In protest of the high gas prices, me and the kid will walk down to the Ale House and indulge on some good pizza. He wanted Chinese but convinced him for a pizza and the best buffalo wings in a 30 mile radius

There never was one Big Lie.

The government and its agents/agencies lie to us as a matter of common practice.

The two-parties and their agents/agencies lie to us as a matter of common practice.

The media and their agents/agencies lie to us as a matter of common practice.

What we "believe" and what we discount is based on personal/tribal bias.

Florida gas prices decline for the 10th straight week

Florida gas prices fell 11 cents per gallon last week. The state average has now declined for 10 consecutive weeks, plunging a total of $1.36 per gallon since mid-June. Sunday’s state average price for gasoline was $3.54 per gallon. That’s the lowest daily average price since March 1, 2022. It now costs $53 to fill an average-sized 15-gallon fuel tank. That’s $20 less than what drivers paid in mid-June when pump prices set a new all-time record high... [Source: WJXT]

We should all thank Putin for lowering the price at the pumps.

Maybe those stinking station owners will relinquish their greedy chokehold at the pumps as well.

Lets give praise where our president laid blame for the matter.

It's floating around $4.15 ish for regular grade here in north central MA.

Walking $0.00 but some wear and tear on shoes.

Electric bike $0.00 to recharge (costs some but don't really see it in the electric bill, probably costs less than firing up the oven to make some tater tots).

Most of my travel is local in this small town so no need to really fire up the car much. Day to day needs and any daily travels are within a 1 mile radius.

Is it the end of the line for gas-price declines?

Gas prices declined for a 10th straight week in Florida and the nation, but analysts say the party might be coming to an end. Last week’s 11-cent drop pushed Florida’s average price to $3.53 on Monday. Average prices in South Florida, with the region’s higher overall cost of doing business, were $3.61 in Broward County, $3.73 in Palm Beach County, and $3.64 in Miami-Dade County. “Gas prices are still falling, but not quite as fast as they did in recent weeks,” said Mark Jenkins, spokesman for travel club AAA. Refineries are (have been) transferring over to make winter blends over the past month and gas stations can start selling winter blends on Sept 15 meanwhile they are purging their supply of summer blend. Winter blend gas typically costs a few cents less/gal than summer blends.

One impact that affects gas prices are the mandates on refineries to make seasonal changes in the blends that they sell. Summer grades of gas costs a bit more than winter grades.

"As gasoline demand decreases and temperatures cool, retailers can switch to selling winter-blend fuel beginning September 15. While these winter-blend fuels are cheaper to produce, the complications of the switchover can result in a temporary bump in price. Weather conditions, such as hurricanes, can also affect gas prices in the late summer to fall months.

By the end of September, gas prices generally decrease as the switchover processes and demand continues to fall. And despite conspiracy theories, lower gas prices do not correlate to pre-election politics."

https://www.convenience.org/Topics/Fuels/Changing-Seasons-Changing-Gas-Prices

With that said, the demand for heating oil (diesel fuel) will increase as the winter sets in.

There is no one simple explanation for the up and down of fuel prices. Energy policies, mother nature (hurricanes), seasonal blend changes, world politics, the economics of supply and demand all play a role and are all intertwined. Some have bigger impacts than others.

Biden May Further Drain Strategic Petroleum Reserve

U.S. President Joe Biden’s administration is weighing the need for further releases of crude oil from the nation’s emergency stockpiles after the current program ends in October, Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm told Reuters on Thursday.

A Department Of Energy official later said the White House was not considering new releases from the U.S. Strategic Petroleum Reserve (SPR) at this time beyond the 180 million barrels that the president announced months ago.

The Biden administration this year has delivered about 1 million barrels of oil per day from SPR stockpiles to lower fuel prices and pare energy inflation ahead of midterm elections in November.

The releases so far this year have helped knock average U.S. retail gasoline prices down to $3.75 a gallon this week from $5 a gallon in June. But they also have cut U.S. emergency stocks to below 450 million barrels, lowest since 1984.

OPEC and its allies led by Russia on Monday agreed to a small oil production cut beginning next month to bolster prices that have slid on fears of an economic slowdown.

It is “a little early to say to say that there is going to be more SPR releases,” said Abhiram Rajendran, head of global oil at Energy Intelligence. “But if OPEC starts getting aggressive on cutting supply, that’s a possibility.”

The nation’s overall crude stocks have been declining since mid-2020 due to sales from congressional mandates and Biden’s price initiative.

Without the SPR releases, U.S. commercial crude oil inventories “would be much lower than they are and they are already below average,” said Phil Flynn, an analyst at Price Futures Group.

Granholm also said during a visit to Houston on Thursday that the administration and allies are still discussing a cap on prices for Russian oil purchases. A price cap would restrict revenues available to Russia amid its invasion of Ukraine.

The administration has not ruled out a U.S. fuel export ban, but said it is “certainly not something on top of the list,” she said.

Granholm recently wrote to U.S. refiners urging them to replenish low fuel inventories ahead of winter and to curb rising exports of gasoline and diesel. The letter warned the administration may take unspecified emergency measures if fuel stocks fell further.
