I was not a sopranos watcher after I dropped HB0 after the 4 th season...
I watched it on YouTube when I could or on DVD when they came out...

I didn't get this Prequel of the sopranos when everyone was younger...
Great sets, great old cars, good wardrobe...but the script was weak...
Almost no action at all....
I thought the entire thing was WEAK...
WELL DONE BUT WEAK...

Agreed on being mediocre. Big Sopranos fan and couldn’t wait for it, then was underwhelmed by what they delivered. Some of the background stories didn’t add up or make sense, Silvio was supposed to be one of Tony’s childhood friends born in 1957 so he’d have been 10 here, yet in this movie he’s a grown man (and balding) already in the family and Tony’s still just a kid. Paulie, Silvio and Junior were overdone, Ray Liotta’s story lines were ridiculous (especially the twin), Giuseppina telling her man she banged that dude knowing how nuts him and his dad were? Did she expect a different result? They could’ve done more to tell stories of the crime family inner workers like Johnny Boy and less of the background stories on the black people, but I’m guessing that has more to due with hitting the necessary quotas to be considered for the awards. Felt like it was a set-up to the next installment which will bridge the gap to the series.

Mediocre is well above the rating I'd give it.
