You rang???

Sorry but any 80 proof bourbon is of little interest to a true bourbon enthusiast. IMHO the flavors of bourbon just begin to kick in at 90 proof.........100 and up is where the true complexity of a good bourbon lie.I'd pass and pick up a bottle of Evan Williams 1873 or EW BIB 100 proof if looking for a great value bourbon. If you feel like a small splurge grab some Wild Turkey 101 or Old Granddad 114....... OGD 114 best cinnamon bomb EVAH!!!

I love E.W. 1873...

Never had E.W. BIB 100, W.T. 101 or O.G. 114
Maybe in the future....
I still have 3 bottles of E.W. black label 80 proof
And two bottles of E.W. 1873...
That will last me 3+ yrs at least.

Picked up a bottle of the Dettling 6 Grain in Nashville. Rather hot/spicy to me when neat. Was more to my liking with an ice cube. Nothing about it really stands out. Similar to Four Roses, Buffalo Trace, Elijah Craig, Woodford in my novice opinion.

I’ve seen some pretty positive reviews of the OP question, unfortunately my state runs the liquor stores and we don’t get a lot of cool stuff.

I live in The Heart of Dixie - and yes the Dettling Bourbon is very nice and smooth. I prefer the cask strength (burgundy label). Right now they are selling a 36-42 month aged spirit. They are supposed to release a 4-5 year version in early 2023.

Pretty nice that they are a fully vertical operation - raise their own grains and distill in-house.
They are pretty proud of their product - a bottle of cask strength will set you back $68 when you can find it.

That’s actually not bad for any cask strength these days, especially small batch.
