Truth about face masks.

Believe this or not.
Hospital grade N95, KN95, and, K95 masks provide various levels of aerosol SARS-COVID2 suppression. All other masks provide approximately 0% of aerosol SARS-COVID2 suppression.

Everyone always talks about how far infectious material travels horizontally. It doesn't matter.

Let's talk about how far it travels vertically. From any side of a mask that is not hospital grade tight infectious material is expelled into the air.

Human aerosol stays in the air approximately 20 minutes. Is there a difference if the aerosol is coughed on you or you walk through it? Answer, no. This is why the government states the 3 above masks are best.

I have tried all 3 of those masks. Breathing through them for any period of time is extremely difficult. Difficult to the point that my oxygen level starts dropping.

So wearing those masks simply is unrealistic. This is only a grouping of my thoughts. As far as I can find there is no information about it. When my glasses fogged up today while wearing a mask, this process of my thoughts was triggered. Also when breathing in while wear a mask other than the 3 mentioned most of you air will come from the loose sides of the mask. Finally while it is possible to be infected by a droplet I think the odds of that are approximately 0%. The droplet would have to enter you eyes, nose, or mouth.

Just my 2 cents. Today my opinion on the value of masking changed.

Would you tell your next surgeon not to wear a mask?

To protect his freedom, of course.

I fully expect and even demand that Brewha wear a mask the rest of his life. He will not be alone. I expect millions will never unmask. It will be a major social anxiety issue.

Brewha the Maskerbater....

Stop being a Fauchist dope, your surgeon wears a mask to protect him from being splashed from blood and stuff, not from aerosols. I know you feel invincible when wearing your face diaper because your masters told you so but get real...masks don't work against viruses. It's all about training the proles to do stupid human tricks, so they become accustomed to obeying every demand of their overlords, it's all political theater. šŸµ šŸ™ˆ šŸ™‰ šŸ™Š šŸ’

At least try to make a salient point. You don't walk into an OR without wearing an N95.

AAAAAaaaaaaaaaand, they still pump you fulll of antibiotics after a surgery. You are right, the surgical mask isn't protecting the patient from aeresolized particles coming from the surgeon's mouth.

Took a real long time for the covid to find me, and I was even triple dog daring it with no mask and no shot!!

And then... THEN, it finally got me! Snuck right up on me and took me out!

Oh, wait... no it didn't. I was uncomfortable for a few days. No fever, some chills, night sweats and a persistent dry cough but no hospital, no ventilator, ain't dead.

Whoowee. Deadly stuff. It's killed about 1% of the people infected.

I think we can all agree that everyone on the planet will catch SARS-covid2. That being the case if 1% of the population dies 80,000,000 people will die. I consider 80,000,000 deaths extraordinary deadly.

MACS, do you think 80,000,000 deaths is acceptable?

Life is terminal, Spey. We're all gonna die. What I consider "acceptable" doesn't matter. It is inevitable.

Heart disease, cancer, viral infection, bacterial infection, accidents, stroke... we can't stop these things. We can mitigate some of them and that's fine.

The government can't protect you from death.

And 56 million people die annually already. 7.9 billion is a large number.

We're adding to it by 140 million new babies every year, too... so even if you add 80 million covid deaths, we're still at a net gain.

Spey, I am feeing lazy right now, so I will ask if you are able to isolate the mortality rate from Omicron (excluding Delta). I suspect it will be MUCH less than 1%, and since viruses (virii?) tend to become more transmissible but less severe as they mutate, Omicron is likely a line in the sand. As with prior pandemics, mortality rates will begin to fall and eventually hit a baseline that is likely in line with influenza (~40-80k dead in the US per year).

Fair enough. My opinion is different. Death is inevitable, but I want to beat the bastid in every way possible. That is why my career was in cellular physiology specializing in curing disease at the cellular level. Truly it was my avocation.

I believe every single disease has a cure, so my everyday premise is we can stop or greatly lower deaths from a specific disease if we find the correct solution. I believe you need to find the right question before you can find the right answer.

Not saying you are wrong. Just explaining where I come from.

I was making a point to MACS. My best educated guess? SaRS-covid2 will end up being more contagious than the flu for decades as it is a new virus. It will end up being less deadly. My best educated guess is that about .15% of people who catch it now die. In the long haul my best educated guess is in say 50 years about .05% of the people who catch it will die.

I have tried to engage him in conversation, I try to find the good in everyone, unfortunately he isn't able to discuss the merit of any opinion other than his own. I have came to the opinion that intelligent discussion is beyond his ability. Basically he is an angry parrot unable to defend his opinions other than by quoting others. I'd have to disagree. I don't think he's easily agitated. My interactions with MACS are quite mild. I'd say that he's rather mainstream, just my opinion man.

And yet FAA regulations still just require any face even though the government has admitted that only N95 respirators have any value.

Oooooh, but mask mandates! Cloth masks! You want your surgeon not to wear a mask!!

People are gullible and stupid, yet they'll call free thinkers unable to defend their opinion. Remember me? I'm the guy that said I will not be getting injected with an experimental shot that has not been tested.

Remember those who said I should follow the science? Yet the science wasn't settled. That's the nature of science. It's never settled. And now it shows those very shots do... not... work. You still get infected, you can still spread the virus.

And now the CDC who was telling us to wear those masks... is now saying they are wholly ineffective and only the N95 or better will suffice.

Huh... who saw that coming? *raises hand*

Wait... ya'll were talking about the science and NOT ZZ Top? That's just dumb. Awesome song though.

Admittedly I was a Navy engineer... which is to say I worked on boilers, turbines, pumps and such... so I dealt with kinetic and potential energy, not the relativity of physics crapola. The math equations... hypnotic. Put me right to sleep.
