And, if you don't think all judicial appointments are political/socially motivated, you are dreaming. The experiences, race, religion, education, accomplishments, expertise, background, etc., are all factors that are considered when picking a SCOTUS Justice.

The wider the variety of attributes and experiences among SCOTUS, the better the court.

That's a good thing right? More diversity in the courts the better?

At least that's what I would think.

The nature of systems... everyone thinks they know best how to manage the system.

They don't, neither does he, nor you... nor me.

He made a choice, now that choice is etched into the system. I'm assuming you think it's bad, I'm agnostic to it as it's just as good or bad as any other relatively benign decision (the only people it fires up is people like you who are mad about it).

The system is a giant chaotic monster (mathematically chaotic, not the symmetry group... why do I bother)...

Nobody can predict how an arbitrary, small (very small) decision is going to affect the system... nobody.

With that said...

You sound mad, are you mad?

Seems fair and balanced.

I don't know the demographics of the legal profession but apparently this HUGE pool of qualified candidates are mostly black women and his nominations are right in line with the equal employment opportunity act.

Since I merely posted a piece of information you really shouldn’t be commenting on how I come across, especially considering 100% of what was posted there is a direct quote. Now it’s not a stretch to say somebody that makes numerous assumptions of how somebody else appears, in a post in which they have zero of their own words, could really be perceived as a presumptuous tool.

For all you geniuses in here lead by Bucky the Great... the great door greeter that is...

Our government is a mathematically chaotic system.

That is a true statement...

Bucky doesn't like my use of big words and for some reason he just wants to discredit me... I think he's just jelly... because I'm me and he's... not.

That was seriously his argument why I was full of sh*t in the herf one night... I use big words. That night I figured out how to trigger him hard... lol.

...and izon just likes to jump on the bandwagon any time someone tries to roast me like a good yard dog.

Bgz trying to explain quantum mechanics interpretations to Bucky...

Giving facts and info, thinking Bucky was interesed....

All of a sudden...

Bucky: you're full of sh*t

Bgz: which part... if I'm wrong about something, or you don't understand a part of it, let me know. Help me help you.

Bucky: all of it... you're just full of sh*t...

Keep in mind... I literally did a simple qm problem in real time on the herf... with FACTS.

Then I told him which book to buy, which scientists to look up... he says I don't have time for that.

I sent him links that explained exactly the same thing as I was saying i short 15 minute increments...he said he ain't going to watch them.

Bucky is not interested in debate... he's intetested in discrediting... but he's unqualified to do it.

Listening to you trying to explain quantum mechanics while your three sheets to the wind drinking whiskey and smoking another bowl of pot on v-herf is like sitting at a bar next to Jeff Spicoli.

Half of your words are intelligible, and your class lecture on quantum mechanics somehow starts out from the price of apples at the grocery store to some random black hole, time-space continuum or string theory or some $hit.

It's not that I'm not interested in debate, just not interested in listening to drunk stoned babble on quantum mechanics. I'll admit that I'm not an expert in the field of quantum mechanics nor claim to be. You try to pretend you are when you have enough mind altering drugs in your system.

Case in point: Post #115

WTF is that about? Topic of discussion on the post is the Supreme Court nomination. Somehow, you got to some blabble about v-herf and physics, our government is a mathematically chaotic system...

How they are all related? I have no idea but somehow the puzzle pieces fit together in your head.

The point of noting a system being chaotic is that you cannot predict what's going to happen with a given set of inputs.

I think differently than you... you're probably better off not trying to understand it.

Anyway, about the part I'm quoting...

I'm on record over and over again saying I'm nothing more than a hobbiest... I'll tell you again... maybe you'll remember this time.

I know you personally, I know you would look at resumes, even do blindfolded interviews and pick the best. But you and I are not born into the ruling class, and they just aren't real amenable to change until there's simply no getting away from it. They aren't like us. They count on your defense though.

If you do believe in fair play, how is it acceptable that we have never had anyone from certain categories deemed qualified? It's certainly not the fault of the rejected candidates, it's that the fix is in.

Doesn't mean the White race as a whole is responsible for this, it's the marionettes that pull the strings.
Stuff just doesn't change itself.

Oh yeah, and I am not going to accept being the defender of reverse prejudice either. I'm asking how this crap ends and we can be assured America will select the best available from the whole pool.

If you were a qualified person, you would be excluded.

Does it make you feel better that it's because of your skin color and your rather large manhood, rather than the fact that you're Jewish?

Because either way, Frankie T isn't allowed on the candidate list.

Tell me how that's OK again?

Answer: you can't.

And you ESPECIALLY can't by doing the same thing in the opposite direction.

This one is very simple.

You want it to "be right" by going backwards.
I just want it to be right.

nothing new to add, but that never stopped me.

If you read what I have said, I was clear that I am not accepting the role of explaining nor apologizing for reverse racism or reverse discrimination, so I am not speaking in favor of Biden's preconditions.

I did express the opinion that our majority here would have reacted in similar fashion had Biden simply picked her or one of many qualified who just happened to be black/female/gay/Asian/Native/Scandinavian/physically deformed/Floridian or whatever without conditions. I'd never believe the criticism would not be the same as we are experiencing as it is.

I've also pointed out that there wasn't this kind of anguish when Reagan and Bush did similar things when they tried to get credit for making the opening moves to fix it. So that's a factor that has been ignored in this attack.

I've asked repeatedly what can be done to make it, for lack of a better word, "natural" to have qualified people chosen without the color of their skin or their sexual orientation or their gender being a rejection factor...which it has inarguably been for 250 years...or we wouldn't have this thread. Or this being historic.

All things being equal, things are not equal. Never have been.

To say it's going backwards due to intentionally picking from groups that have been excluded from the onset is scrambled logic. It's tantamount to insisting we ignore all that came before and allow it to continue, accept the prejudice in charge rather than do something to make things fair., better than fair, make things better..something that would actually be a benefit to all Americans if we took the best from more than one race, one gender, one religion, one (fill in the blank).

But we don't. And it's not by random chance either.

To me, "going back" means leave it alone...or am I missing the real meaning of MAGA? What period in our history was this done correctly that we should be aching to revisit?

I'm actually with you, ideally, in that forcing in the way Biden is doing is racism or sexism, or some kind of negative ism, but we part ways when you idealistically believe it'll just be that the cream will rise regardless of color...eventually.

If it was you doing the waiting, you might be getting a little impatient after two and a half centuries.

So how can we accelerate making it right without hurting others?

Frank,
The issue is twofold.
First, Biden used racial hiring metrics.

Next, and maybe more importantly, he got a complete pass from the media.

MSM hasn't called him out. They didn't when he announced his intent. They didn't when he followed through (maybe the only promise he kept).

But worse, when a good and intelligent person is engaged in the discussion, they all too often mention 250 years.

Here's my take.
The only way to truly get past this is to accept it as normal.
Let's stop with the over played import that it's the first time a person of a certain skin type or gender or lack thereof is put into an elected position.

There will always be racists. Playing down to their level is counterproductive. Even when the woke embrace it.
Maybe especially so.
