No, the bird crap is not the issue. It's no like there is swarm of birds. Usually it'd just like chickadees, sparrows, finches, robins... small birds like that. There's a small strip of wooded area behind the parking lot where they probably nest. We have hedges lining the area between the parking lot and the building where they hide and congregate to chip and chirp during the day.
I think that when she says that bird feeders bring in unwanted animals, she's talking about skunks and/or raccoons. This I can agree on with her. In the summer, skunks and raccoons do waddle around the dumpers at the far end of the parking at night foraging for a free meal after the sun goes down but that's a dumpster thing not a bird feeder thing.
It's not like we have and infestation of the scavengers. I'd say we have a standard population of these creatures within the area we live. I, maybe see one or two skunks a month. Haven't seen a raccoon over the 3 yrs (?) I lived here. Probably 3 sightings of a possum(s) but possums are cool.
In summary, bird feeders are not the issue. In my opinion, she's just being a Kunt with a stupid request/demand. I'm not taking down our bird feeder. If she want to take it away, no biggie. $15 and I'll buy another.
