Agreed. Walmart has some powerful tools to handle stuff like this but if the tools are not used or used wrong it turns into a cluster Frank.
Our store manager (the guy that oversees the entire store) is a dolt. This is how we got into the mess we are in. I would vociferously tell him turn off the spigot of the DC sending us stuff that we can't sell and stuff we are overstocked with.
His reply: "If I tell them to stop sending it, it sends a wrong signal that we can't sell it."
I had to walk out of the office after that back and forth. He just doesn't get it. I have very little patience for him but ultimately he's my boss for now. It's just a silly short time job at Wally World, I have no allegiance to the place.
I think the local distribution center sends us $hit that they want to get off their books to our store knowing that the manager will blindly take it. So now it's on our books rather than theirs. Pass the buck sort of thing.
