Did 570 miles day 1, 600 today. About halfway done...so Friday afternoon arrival is likely, barring any glitches.

I like the 80mph speed limit in TX... apparently it's okay for the semi's to go that speed, too... because the fuckers do! Those tires ain't meant for that **** and is probably why I've passed a hundred of them in the gat dang road, all blown apart.

Truck was getting 19.5 mpg until the cruise got set to 80... now it's like 18. d'oh!

Yep... Baton Rouge area... prolly stay in that area, as it's another 600 miles from here. And then 600 more to Jax. That'll put me in Jax Friday evening... afternoon if I do a little more driving tomorrow.

Then a cigar and a libation will be in order.

They're about 4-4 1/2 ours out of Houston.Perfect timing for passing straight thru town on I-10.Traffic doesn't get really screwed up til 3:30 or 4.Actually Houston has the best traffic flow of any major city I have travelled through............you want a clusterfuck go to Austin.

Huh. Wouldn't have expected that. Saw the heart of Houston on a map, with three circles around town, getting bigger each time. Straight up the gut is the call? Wouldn't have considered that angle.

Absolutely ...........the time of day they'll be going thru no need to mess with the 610 loop or the beltway toll road.

I think that was what Trump had in mind when he referred to some places being a chit hole. Definitely have to take the bad with the good there.

Exactly. Anytime I have to drive through Houston I try to do so I can take I-10 straight through.

I-12 cuts about 40 miles off the trip. Plus there are two sets of twin span bridges that pass over swamps. A wreck on either one will set you back 3-5 hours. Unless you specifically plan to visit NOLA you want to steer well clear of that section of I-10. Also, if you’re unlucky to get caught down there during rush hour you may as well plan to take a nap on the roadway.

I’ll take the Green Bay traffic. Can circle the whole city in 20 minutes.

MACS, when traveling through AL, the troopers will normally give you 75 on the interstates unless in a construction zone.

I can remember a time in the past when the Sip would not give one mile over the posted speed limit. Not sure how it is now but suggest keeping an eye on Waze while in the Sip.

Stopped in Slidell, LA tonight. Wife's aunt and uncle used to live here. 520 miles from the destination. Tomorrow afternoon sometime.

Hotel has a big grassy area across the street. Played fetch with Tank for a bit, peed twice and dropped a deuce... we golden.

That highlighted part was Tank, just for clarity. Gonz

I can tell I am in the southeast... haven't stopped sneezing.

I read something recently claiming Claritin was actually about the weakest allergy med out there.

And no, it wasn't a Zertec ad I read it in

If you get a cop behind you don't slow down.. it's like an addmission of guilt... maintain your speed and they will just think your speedo is off... pulled this off by Tallahasee once.. Mellow

It's the "D" part, the pseudoephedrine decongestant that is effective at keep the crud flowing. Claritin figured out an effective way to time release the pseudoephedrine, even better than Sufdafed 12 hour tablets. I alternate between Claritin-D or Zantec/Allertc with Sudafed 12 hour to not get too used to one

I do a few pumps of the brakes to make sure he's alert and not tailgating. They love it when you do that $hit.

I don't like all the suspicion with the pseudoephedrine. It's almost as bad as trying to get razors unlocked.

But if you want the D, you go for the D. No judgment here Not talking

Behind-the-counter 24-hour Sudafed (one pill per day) is available at CVS, FYI.

Macs, you MUST use WAZE on I-10 in Florida. Highway Patrol is everywhere and in the bushes and behind trees radaring people- and then pulling them over a mile or two ahead. Florida speed-traps like this all the way across I-10.

I'll give them a try, the 12-hour tends to run out before 12 hours is up. I can imagine it isn't easy to design a time-release medicine considering the variation in humans and digestive systems.

He mentioned using Waze in message 548. It's probably helped him in LA and AL on I-10 where the police like to hide in the woods growing in the highway dividers.

Based on where they stayed last night and what time Shawn posted they were rolling I’d think they are about 45 minutes out depending on how many times Tank had to chit today.
