Hope closing goes as well as the entire journey has for you.

Thanks for sharing your adventure with us A$$hats. Having made a long distance transition myself your travels brought back a lot of memories.

Get the TV hooked up in time for the College Football kick off.

Enjoy your new-to-you home. Wishing you much happiness and memories in your new place.

Closing was smooth.

Got the keys, but was going with AT&T fiber. Guy gets there and says it isn't wired for it yet... so he has to find where the stuff is down by the road (can't find it) and then he'd had to make a hole in my wall. Hard pass, buddy.

House is already wired for Comcast so I sent the dude packing and will go with them. Already signed up, just have to go to the store and get the modem. No hookup with them... pick your stuff up and do it yourself or we charge $100. d'oh!

Need to be at the house tomorrow at 0800-0830 so the painters and garage flooring guys can get started.

Oh... joy. Frying pan

Yup... looks crappy now. Some grease stains here and there. Diamond grinding, painting, flakes and epoxy coating. All done tomorrow... usable Friday.

Painters said 2-3 days, likely done by noon Saturday. New furniture arrives Saturday afternoon.

Great way to go, we ended up not doing this and have regretted it ever since. Even a good concrete sealer would be better than plain concrete, it's always dusty.

Got one quote today on tree/shrub removal and stump grinding - $875. Waiting for at least one more.

Trying to get some quotes on artificial turf, too. Got about 1400 sq ft in da back yard needs to be done.

Thanks, and yeah... we really wanted a bigger back yard, coming from a smaller one this is a tiny improvement.

I had the three car garage done just after we moved in. Looks great, easy care and nothing stains it.

Congrats on the close.

Thanks everyone.

Got the flooring in the garage done today. Painting has started and will continue at 0800 tomorrow. Purple bedroom, master bath and momma's yuge walk-in closet are done. Kitchen/living room tomorrow.

Did some shopping for supplies... cleaning stuff, toilet brushes, garbage cans, floor mats and such. This moving sh-t is expensive! Got the king-sized bedsheets today. Got the new kitchen knife set. Still need a buncha stuff. Frying pan

A new kitchen knife set??? Blasphemy...we were gifted a solid set of kitchen knives as a wedding gift, more than 42 years ago...an off brand that many may not have heard before...Rogers...they have been with me and have served me well after all these years...they take a good edge, about once a year...

lotsa guests who come over and use them comment about the sharpness of the blades...

We had Chicago Cutlery. A gift from slimboli, if I am not mistaken from years ago...

Great knife set. But the wife, until I bought her a $200 German steel cleaver, was pretty hard on them. Sooooo... I found the exact same set and got some new ones. BigGrin

Painting is progressing nicely. Will be done some time tomorrow. Likely before the furniture arrives, but they did the master bed/bath/closet first, so it's dry and ready for some furniture.

Modem came today. It was a bit convoluted having to set it up... download an app, do this, do that... scan the QR code... blabbity blah... but it's in and working, so there's that.

Probably going to vacate this AirBnB for good tomorrow evening, or maybe Sunday morning to make it easier. I'm paid until the 7th with no refund, but whatever... this going back and forth blows.

Man cave rocker recliners and table are in place, bedroom set being assembled. We'll be sleeping in our new king sized bed tonight. New sheets already washed and ready, comforter too. Now we're waiting on our furniture from CA to get delivered.

Happy first day/night in the new home.

I believe the internet uniform code of conduct requires coupling during the first night, so have fun!

FINALLY got a forkin' answer from the dadburned moving company. Stuff is supposed to be delivered sometime between Saturday and Monday and they will call 24 hours or so before... so it ain't Saturday.

These asspipes have ignored texts, failed to return calls, and finally get back to me... now we'll see if it happens. At this point I am not at all confident.

Should have gone with United or Mayflower... lesson learned.

Have heard many stories about moving companies who show up with additional charges (storage fees, etc) before they will unload the truck. Hope it's not one of those.

Oh, I'm sure it will be...

Went with Safe Ship Moving... broker. Should have looked a little closer. They sent me to J&B Relocations, based in CA. They've got my sh*t. But I did insure my stuff through USAA before they left with it. Only smart thing I did in that entire transaction. d'oh!

Nothing is over until we decide it is! Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor? Hell no!...
