The White House insisted Thursday that Biden, who turns 80 this year, doesn’t need to take extra precautions and announced plans to hold a large outdoor celebration Friday to mark the confirmation of Ketanji Brown Jackson to the Supreme Court.

The dreaded virus swirled through DC following this past weekend’s elite white-tie Gridiron Club dinner, where Attorney General Merrick Garland, Commerce Secretary Gina Raimondo, Sen. Susan Collins (R-Maine) and many reporters mingled before testing positive this week.
