Good Monday Morning! It's 55° on the way to 71° today. Glad to have some cooler weather, it's too early for Summer.

Worked to complete exhaustion yesterday. Fell asleep around 6pm woke up freezing and sweating at 9p. Drank a ton of water and then barfed. Took my temp, 101. Couple ibuprofen and went to bed. Slept 12 more hours.

Gonna take it easy today. Need to at least make the septic cover but I'd like to at least get the first layer of stone into the pit. Maybe not graded and compacted but moved.

Septic cover done and buried.

Had a tree out back that was leaning 45 degrees over just waiting to fall on someone so I dropped and chopped that. Don't have the energy to split it. Gotta get me a hydraulic splitter someday.

Neighbor came over asked if I could bring the skidloader up there and move some gravel and dirt n stuff so there's another project for tomorrow.

Finishing off my iced tea and getting back at it in a minute to start moving stone.

I need to buy a skidloader of my own. Sure it tears up the yard any time you use it but it sure is handy.

Morning gents. Up at 4:00 for an early flight to Austin. Hope my pre-flight routine of antihistamines works. If I don't do it correctly I get an excruciating headache as the plane descends. At one time I swore off ever flying again until I learned how to control it.

ENT told me to take a pseudoephedrine- and then later use Afrin extra strength spray one hour before take off and 30 minutes before landing (and not to ever use it for anything else). Works like a charm. No longer even use the pseudoephedrine. YMMV.

Absolutely, after my bad experience with Afrin, I've stuck with pseudoephedrine.

Rebound congestion if you use it more than about three days, it's a MoFo to get over.

Way too much going on.
Earth Wind and Fire concert last night.

Wife dealt with kitchen today. Old backsplash tiles scrapped off of the walls. A misplaced cabinet adjusted to be where is was supposed to be.

New work schedule is Monday & Tuesday. So today was my Monday and Tuesdays will be my Fridays.
Draggin' assss today.

Got to see a true case of White Privilege in action. Little blonde chick driving her fancy car got to the front of the line for an alignment. She was cute enough I guess, but not THAT cute. Yes- Drafter would have hit it.

She got to the front of the line because she might have been "somebody".

Or maybe she had a nice ass and they were doing the other customers a favor by allowing them to see the posterior.

I don't think that's white privilege. That's cute little ass privilege. It supersedes race in many parts of the country.

I agree on the Afrin and pseudoephedrine. Exactly what I stumbled on a few years ago. But Jean is right about the addictive quality of Afrin. I had to undergo a series of nose drops and heat treatments to get rid of the addiction once.

No issues this time. Already thinking Austin
Is not that great. About the same temperature as Phx but way more humid. Traffic sucks and parking is $19 per hour downtown. We did find some good BBQ and a couple of decent breweries so far.

Ran myself to empty again today. Got done what I said I would, so my couch nap was guiltless.

Tomorrow help the neighbor, spread and compact the gravel and that's it until next week.

Can't describe how cool was. The love in that room. So talented. Average age was probably 60. Phillip Bailey can still Sing A Song. It was a Boogie Wonderland. Felt like September.

Got to Get You Into My Life.

Wife's favorite band. She'd never been to a concert. Exceeded expectations.
So much fun, she's still smiling tonight.

I have nothing against the band. I do like "full sound" entertainment that goes beyond the standard lead guitar, bass, rhythm guitar, drums. Add in additional layers of a horn section, background singers, various other percussion selections. Funky music. Usually makes for a great show. Earth Wind and Fire a bit too disco for me but I'm sure it would be a good show to see.

I have fond memories of seeing live shows of George Clinton, Maceo Parker, and the like in the 90's (roots of James Brown and Parliament/Funkadelic). I'm sure the shows I saw paled in comparison of when they were at the peak in the 60's and 70's but they still had a stage full of all different layers of sound.

Sly & the Family Stone is another that comes to mind and could enter into the discussion.

Good Tuesday Morning! It's a cool 56° on the way to 83° today. I'm off to the range, lucky for me my wife, a good pistol shot, has agreed to try precision .22 rifle shooting.

You don't have to sit there and watch them every minute of the smoke.

Unless he has a Big Green Egg. Then he has to sit there for 6 hours fiddling with the temperature.

(I’ve got 9 lbs of baby back ribs in the fridge ready to cook!)

Started at 0730. I'm completely wiped at 3pm.

Mowed the whole yard, used the skidloader by the neighbor's house to try to dig up a stump but kept getting stuck in the mud so that's gotta wait for a more dry time. Did get a large hill the stump is on cut down level. Now the stump is about 6ft off the ground but it wouldn't budge.

Leveled and compacted stone layer 2.

Moved a bunch of fill to low spots in the yard.

Poured stone layer 3. This one has to be accurately graded for water drainage. I don't have enough energy left to do it right so it's quitting time.

I think I'm gonna come up about 1yd short on stone. I'll just dig it out of my gravel driveway that I'm gonna pay to get paved.

Back to work tomorrow. Back to this job in 1 week.

I have mine on "set-it-and-forget-it" once I dial it in.
Does that sound like something Ron Popeil would have said?

Certainly was the Full Sound Entertainment you speak of. Four people on various percussion set ups. Three guys on horns, three guitars, one keyboard set up and one lead singer. Great to experience a group of people pouring out so much joy and love through the gifts they have been given and continually honed.

You mention Sly and the Family Stone. That is her #2 favorite band.

Ended the new work week at 17.5 hours. Grueling. One vehicle was a Petri dish of filth. Not sure but I think I know now what meth may smell like. Saturn Vue with 250k miles. Towels caked in dirt (maybe feces) was favorable to what I think I briefly thought I saw on the seat. Closed eyes and looked away so it would be seared in my memory forever.

More fun was. Mustang 4.6 something or other. The other fun one was an Audi Quattro something. 2.SO?
So much leather I thought I was in Catwoman’s suit.

If you got it inside Catwoman's suit, I would think your focus would be something other than leather

Met with a couple more heat/cool contractors today. One is doing some calculating and getting back to me. The second was at $4800 for AC and $8200 for furnace/AC combo. Reviews are good and a warranty is involved. Plus Mrs. Beach keeps talking about moving within a few years. Prolly gonna go with the cheapest option

Yo gents. I am used to getting up at 4:30 and out for a walk after a few cups but the daylight savings thingy means it’s still dark out. Real nice place to get in the morning 5 miler along the Colorado river. Lots of co-eds jiggling by.😛

Dog walked, coffee now.

The weather report here is similar to Gene's Georgia in early March.

Overcast, 64 degrees, 90% humidity. Feels like living in a damp sock.

It's only 43 degrees out there. Headed for 70... but 43? Nipply.
