They come from: Mexico Honduras Columbia Haiti Venezuela Guatemala Ecuador Philippines India China El Salvador etc cetera.

Why are they coming here?

Free food.
Free housing.
Free health care.
Free education .
Free clothing.
Free cell phone.
Free everything.

Remember the vast majority of these people are illiterate, and have no skills.
Why are the dumacrates doing this? V.O.T.E.S .
Yes folks the are not stopping people from flooding in to the US so they can pad the vote in there favor.

Now go back to work and pay pay pay!

They do not care about what they are doing to this country it's all about political power .

Tugger, open your eyes even more. Politicians have not cared about this country for a long, long time. Also for a long time politicians have worked to create an us versus them mindset. We are Americans first and foremost. Ask yourself this, what does us versus them really do? For finite periods of time us or them gain political power. This is not sufficient for working so hard for so long to create us versus them. Also why would both sides work towards the same goal? If anyone finds answers to questions like that they start to travel a very dangerous path.

Um... not to be contrarian or anything... but the people coming from the Philippines... How, exactly, do illegal immigrants arrive from the Philippines? That's a long way to swim, bruh.

Point #2 - The education in the Philippines exceeds ours. And I am 100% serious. Most all of the kids graduating HS there are smarter than ours and speak English as well as Tagalog and their own dialect.

Now that you put it that way, I am thinking back that the Philipinos I have met over the years do confirm what you are saying. In middle and high school when a few families transfered in, even in the middle of the year for three brothers, all were very good students and their english was fine.

Remember, buddy... I lived there for over 3 years. When my friend from back there immigrated here (legally) his daughter said our schooling was much easier and the school day was shorter. She was 16 at the time and spoke perfect English already.

I also think about the competence of the Philipino people I have met in health services as well.

For example, 25% of our skilled medical care (doctors and nurses) are immigrants. Many other skilled workers across the board come from the Philipines, from Iran, from Iraq, from India, from many other places.

Probably double or triple that percent are the bed pan cleaners, unless skilled enough to mow your lawn.

Unless you want your kids to aspire to lawn mowing or bed pan cleaning, exactly who do you think will do this much needed work...for your family?

And as Le Hockey Dad is fond of saying, that lettuce ain't gonna pick itself.

Here's something to think about when calm...would you walk for weeks through hostile territory for free gubmint cheese? Even if you had nuffin?

Frankie, nobody with any sense is complaining about the very skilled and even the unskilled workers who have come here legally. On the other hand there are prolly a few billion who would be happy to leave their poverty behind in South America, Asia and Africa and come to the America. We either have a border or we don't. We either control who comes or we don't.

And all that immigration that we were built on?

Most came through Ellis Island, right? And were "documented", right?

So what's the damn issue with closing the border with a fence/wall/whatever and having anyone who comes in do so through the door and be documented and approved?

Had a grilled chix caesar salad last night but I don't think our store bought lettuce here on the east coast comes from CA. Prolly from South Carolina or Florida or suptin.

Noticed that we are starting to get watermelons and cherries in now. Two of my favorite summer fruits. But the melons are going for about $10 each and cherries are about $4/lb. Usually, when in full summer, melons are about $5. Cherries still hover around $3-4/lb and only in season for about 2 months and I'm a sucker for some cherries.

We decided to go out for Thai food for lunch.

They are picking cherries around here now. We even have some U-picks.

Frank that skilled medical staff is most likely 100% legal.entry........no problem there.

Illegals taking those bed pan cleaning jobs is a problem.........we have way too many twentysomethings sitting their azz eating gubmint cheese

Raising Canes chicken fingers... got the 4 finger combo and they gave me 5. Ordered the sweet tea, but as I drove away I realized they gave me Dr. Pepper. S'awright... I like Dr. Pepper and I almost never drink soda, so it was acceptable.

Tank was in da back... extra one was prolly for him, but I ate it.
